How did you hear about The Sanctuary SMP community: I saw this thread.
What is your favorite/preferred base/building style:
I like to do a high fantasy/Viking style. My most recent build was a city base. I had my house, an apiary, storage shed, walls, etc... It looked like a spot from a fantasy novel.
What aspect of vanilla gameplay draws you towards SMP:
I really like being part of a community and doing community-orientated builds. It's always fun to start that first massive XP farm with everyone, kill the ender dragon together, and then visit each other's bases.
Do you have any experience with Minecraft communities?:
Yes. I have been playing since 2011. I was on a few long-term SMPS. My first community was the xeraingaming Minecraft server in 2012, and I am still friends with the people I met there.
Outside of Minecraft, what kinds of activities/hobbies do you enjoy:
I read and write fantasy novels. I'm really into playing the Sims 4 currently. I play Magic the Gathering, watch Star Wars, and I'm in a Dungeons and Dragons camping. I'm currently a college student and majoring in English. My passion for the fantasy genre is ingrained in almost every part of my life.

Just taking a normal uninhabited world and building it up to a massive community/town. It's very satisfying to be a part of that. Being a part of a community where anything can happen at any time is very entertaining.

Q: What is your favorite/preferred base/building style?:
A: Mostly medieval style builds. My go to build on survival worlds is often a large tower base, or a medieval fort. I'm also a big fan of transforming natural formations into towns/bases, for example turning ravines into large subterranean towns or building tree-house villages in jungles.

How did you hear about The Sanctuary SMP community?: I saw this thread while browsing here on the forums for a SMP to join. The post looked professional and caught my eye.
What is your favorite/preferred base/building style? I prefer building below surface. Stuff like mountain entrances to massive underground citadels, vaults and bunkers, and big glass bubble cities under the ocean. I'm pretty excited to see what I can do with the new world gen caves.
What aspect of vanilla gameplay draws you towards SMP? I love seeing my own and others progress. It's really satisfying to watch the world around me slowly fill with creations and contraptions.
Do you have any experience with Minecraft communities? Several short-term realms and modded servers over the years. I've been looking for a community to tuck in to for the long-haul, so this server was a nice find.
Outside of Minecraft, what kinds of activities/hobbies do you enjoy? Aside from work and other video games, I read a lot of fantasy books. I also like to practice with Photoshop and Premiere when I'm up to it.

What is your favorite/preferred base/building style?
I don't have a favourite kind of build style. I like all styles. I have most experience on mediaeval and city building but i would like to learn how to build more futuristic and space themed builds.
What aspect of vanilla gameplay draws you towards SMP?
I really enjoy building in survival more than in creative, because every building serves a purpose. Multiplayer is way more fun than playing alone in a single player world.

How did you hear about The Sanctuary SMP community?: Found the Community same why I found my last community. Just by looking through Minecraft Forums.
What is your favorite/preferred base/building style? Building Style.. Now that can vary.. I usually go for a Underground approach. But when I do build above ground I tend to stick to I'd say maybe more Medieval? Lots of Stone and Cobble and Bricks.. Alongside darker wood usually spruce.
What aspect of vanilla gameplay draws you towards SMP? I personally enjoy the exploration the game offers. Minecraft can be a very beautiful and stunning game if just given the chance. And especially with the 1.18 Update. Some of the terrain world gen is just so crazy and amazing that I just find it hard not to want to look at all of what the world can offer me.
Do you have any experience with Minecraft communities? Yes.. I use to be apart of a nice community of friends that I joined like 4-5 yrs ago. Our community mainly did minecraft roleplays. But we did occationally branch off of that for a short bit for simpler things. We played from semi-vanilla(with plugins) to even fully modded. But the community isn't really there anymore. So here I am looking to start again.(Hopefully)
Outside of Minecraft, what kinds of activities/hobbies do you enjoy? Well outside of Minecraft, I have many other games that I enjoy to play. Things like Final Fantasy XIV, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Terraria, Baldur's Gate 3, etc.. I also enjoy several different TV Shows and Movies. What is your favorite/preferred base/building style?
My preferred building style definitely leans towards more fantasy-esque, but also ancient styled, with the build I am proudest of being a wyvern. If there's one thing I would like to improve on it would be my use of colors and gradients, since I sometimes struggle with those.
What aspect of vanilla gameplay draws you towards SMP?
My favorite part of vanilla gameplay would be building and resource gathering, and I like observing different people's builds because it makes the world feel more alive.

What is your favorite/preferred base/building style:
Fantasy/medieval builds is what I like most. I'm more into building something I find beautiful than to building something that is more functional. I'm not too much into building mega bases but like to start at one point and evolve and area over time into a "town" or small village. I'm still kinda new to the game maybe been playing activly for a year or 2 and I'm learning new things every time I play. I really want to evolve my terraforming that is lacking too get my builds pop a bit more.
What aspect of vanilla gameplay draws you towards SMP? I don't like creative because it's too easy, I want to work for my progress to get a sense of accomplishment. All games are better when playing with others (I don't like single player games) and minecraft is really made to be experienced with others. Gaming for me is a lot about the people you play with.
Do you have any experience with Minecraft communities? Not much, I used to play with friends that no longer play the game so thats when I learned about SMP's and started searching for one. Joined an SMP in december but they closed down the server a few days ago so it wasn't up for very long.

What is your favorite/preferred base/building style?: I like to start with the interior and plan out rooms, halls, any redstone builds, etc. then make it pretty on the outside. I also really like to put a lot of effort into picking a scenic location, terraforming, and creating a communal base that can grow to be its own sort of village or town.
What aspect of vanilla gameplay draws you towards SMP?: I stopped playing Minecraft around 2014 when I started having issues with extreme nausea while playing - in the last couple weeks I've found I can play again in small doses with the window shrunk down. Seeking a vanilla experience because everything is still so new and different, and I would love to start experiencing the game sorta like playing it for the first time in a way with a friendly group!

mainly a hermit but once I've gather recourses I like to build in a Nordic Fantasy. love building villages
What aspect of vanilla gameplay draws you towards SMP?
PVE, just the community aspect of it really draws me in. being able to cooperate with other players to get projects down is so much fun even just digging out a chunk while in a voice call passes the time so fast.

Usually starting off as a hermit gathering materials and creating underground farms and village trading halls is preferred until I get plenty of gear and useful items making it easier to create my favorite builds consisting of castles and Nordic style villages.

Well its in the name SMP(Survival Multiplayer) just being able to survive and help others is what Minecraft is all about to me. Showing off builds playing mini games and creating a place to escape the real world.
