Thank you for looking into trying out A&A Towny! I will be splitting this post up into a few different chunks for ease of access.
Who are we?
The A&A community is a large community that originated from an old Unturned Military Simulator server. Our core server no longer exists and we now float around fairly aimlessly, gathering new people here and there. We include people from all sorts of backgrounds across the globe from Vietnam to Australia, but the majority of our members live in the U.S. We love to meme around, but the staff of our community always make sure that no one goes too far. I may not be allowed to mention this, but what the heck: we are a community not solely based on any game, and we like to play various games including Minecraft, HOI4, and TF2. Recently, however, we got our hands on a Minecraft server and are now looking for new people from across the globe to join us!
If you're such a big community, why do you need to advertise to get more people?
Well, that's a big load of drama in itself that I will explain to you just in case you happen, like myself, to become engrossed in our diverse community. There was a first iteration of this server (1.0 I shall be calling it) flopped hard. For the opening weekend we managed to convince about 70 people of our 600 person discord to join, leaving us at an average player count of around 10-20 players at a given time. This, however, did not last long as the server was stale, grind-lose-grind-centered, and lacked depth. We now have completely revamped the server into version 2.0 which is, in my opinion, much more hearty of a play than the original. Now the problem is, many of our own community don't believe that we've done these massive changes to improve the server and so we only have an average player count of 0-10 players at any given moment. We are looking for anyone who is looking to play on a fun, community-driven server.
Enough talk about your stupid community, where's the IP?
The IP, Discord link, and donation link will all be posted at the bottom of this thread :).
So what exactly do you do on this server?
Well, this server is similar to a very large server (I'm not sure if I'm allowed to let you know what that server is here, so I won't) which calls itself a Minecraft Geopolitical Sandbox. What a name. If I were to give our server a title it would be a Minecraft Geopolitical Progression-Based Sandbox. Let me dive into the meaning of this name to help you understand what this server is about.
This means that the server is based on a map of the real Earth (check it out here: http://220.127.116.11:8194/) where you can create towns, nations, and build your own empires and alliances. There is a relatively in-depth war plugin which allows you to conquer other towns and nations (don't worry, you can't be immediately conquered as soon as you create your first town). Of course, politics is not only about war, but its also about the economy! We feature a completely gold-based economy where you use gold ingots to found towns, claim land for your town, found nations, and buy things in the Admin Shop. You can trade with other nations since players have found that certain minerals spawn more commonly in certain areas, so be sure to check around for anyone who has a surplus of diamonds!
This is the major update that our 2.0 server had. There now exist what we call Ages where you are only allowed to craft certain items while in a certain age. This slows down the gameplay a lot since players aren't able to get full prot 4 armor on the first day. The ages currently include the Stone Age, Bronze Age, Iron Age, Diamond Age, and Magic Age. More ages are coming that include custom crafting recipes for tools and armor that normally aren't obtainable in-game (such as a sharp vi sword).
Your imagination is literally the limit here guys. You can start a religion based on tropical fish, you can conquer the world, you can keep peace through a UN-like organization, you fill in the blank.
Alright, let's check it out!
Thank you so much for considering or even choosing to play on our server!
