Do you have any prior roleplay-related experience, if so could you give an example?
I've played on a multitude of role-play platforms such as the Wyrmrest Accord World of Warcraft server.
-Define Power-gaming in your own words: - To power game is to do actions that are impossible, lore-breaking or unrealistic. A good example would be the following.
Avoure decapitates Sloan.
That gives no room for Sloan to respond! Other forms of power-gaming include god-emoting, where you do things that are virtually impossible and not only give no room for a response, but you do not take any sort of realistic damage when struck yourself.
-Define Meta-gaming in your own words: To use out-of-character information in-character. To know of things in-character you cannot know or do not realistically understand.
-Define Role-Playing in your own words:
To role-play is creating a character within a given continuity and engaging in a mutual story-telling experience. It's playing the part of a character and clearly defining that character to fit into the canonical setting of a rp community.
----IC Info---- -Character name: Avouré Desellith -Character race: Dark Elf -Character gender: Male -Character age: 102 -Character Occupation (optional, note you still must talk to the lord about loaning or purchasing any stall/shop for your character if he/she would have one. This more or less helps us to better understand your characters starting skill set):
Avouré is a wandering mercenary, his skill lies in use of the sword. Although this has been his career for some time now, he is exploring other options and may seek to become a tailor with his own business.
-Character description (At least one to two paragraphs describing your character’s visual appearance.):
Avouré is an ashen-skinned man with finely shaped elven ears and a slim nose accentuated by his gaunt cheeks and pearly grin. Some freckles dust his cheeks and his hair is a pallid white or grey, but he sometimes dyes it jet black. He carries himself with a posture of arrogant confidence and has a muscular frame to boast of thanks to vigorous activity in his life and the exercise from his odd jobs hauling wood and stone for makeshift battlements. He is approximately 6'0" and bears a broad smirk on his lips most of the time with a large scar going up his eye socket to the rim of his eyebrow.
-Character personality and traits (At least one to two paragraphs describing their personality traits and/or quirks.):
Avouré is confident and carries himself with a pedigree of cleanliness and an amiable personality. He is kind and just and despite the grit of his profession he feels compelled by mercy. But he also has a vicious streak and like the bright blue sky he can become a raging storm of hypocrisy and rage. With a keen eye and a loose interpretation of justice, he has a tendency to be rebellious and to go against the words and whims of other. Despite this he seems to think he can justify any action he does, he has very thin self-perception and tends to fixate on the successes or failings of others.
-Character biography (At least three paragraphs describing your character's history and experiences):
Born in the city of Manadh Calad along the forest floor, Avouré was born to his two loving parents Tepis and Ranaé Desselith, who raised him to be confident, cruel and bold. Tepis was a hunter and Ranaé was a financial expert in the city who managed coin and investments in furs and tailoring. Since he could first walk Avouré had a keen interest in tailoring and sewing that would last into his adult years. Together Avouré’s two parents set a very high standard for how he was going to live in his adult life; a standard he could not readily fulfill not for lack of trying, but for lack of innate ability.
He could not fill the inordinately large shoes of his two parents and felt as though he disappointed them at every turn so Avouré acclimated to what he was good at: tailoring, stone masonry and the tactless art of violence and brute force. Avouré was an adept hunter like his father but he was horrible with money and despite Ranaé’s best efforts he could not master the basic mathematics required to achieve a position in the clan as a banker, loaner or mathematician. That inability to master numbers and abstract sciences left him hollow and despite his boisterousness and confidence he knew secretly in his heart that he wasn’t fit for a life of mathematics.
Where Ranaé failed to teach Avouré to make any headway into abstract science, Tepis found that his son was a more than able stonemason and looked upon that fact with much pride and happiness. However, Avouré had even managed to fail in that regard, the ancient stone carving traditions that had been passed down his line for decades were scorned by him in favor of abstract carvings, wall paintings and statuettes. Tepis tried to force Avouré to learn about his heritage, but soon found that it was not something he could grasp either. Outraged, Teppis enlisted his son Avouré in a local militia during the Pact War alongside himself, seeking to teach his son to be a reputable weaponsmith and combatant much like himself. It was here that Avouré excelled and beamed with pride when he was told as much. Though nothing legendary, he was a fine swordsman among the rabble being trained due to his headstart in his training.
But then Manadh Calad fell to the Pact, Avouré and Tepis looked on in horror as the forest floor lay salted and barren, the corpses of their fellow man picked apart by vultures as the Orcs, Goblins and Cultists made their dark-spirited march across the known world. Relocating his family to Barkamsted for their safety, they like many others elves inhabiting the city looked upon the Half Elves and other “lower” races with disgust. Although Avouré quickly made acquaintances among them and gravitated to the opportunity to meet others, he did not trust many among the Humans viewing them as short-lived, brazen and idiotic. This ignorant point of view eased with time as he spent more time amongst them and his brother Vaenil was born towards the end of the war and the fall of Tepis in battle during a Pact siege.
Distraught, Avouré found himself the sole protector of his brother because his mother fell prey to the horrors of childbirth, she bled out in his arms as he sobbed. At the climax of the war he assisted his fellow conscripts in slaying a great many Orcs, Trolls and Cultists in their final battle. Many of them fell but that was alright, thought Avouré, their names will live on in infamy to any greenskin who dared to set foot in the kingdom from this time till the end of times.
With the war now long since past, Avouré left his brother with his uncle and his enlistment time ran thin. He now wanders the Realm of Saphriel looking for a place to settle down, a place to start a business of his own or to hone a new craft as an apprentice.
-Please give us a short RP response to these two scenarios. (At least one paragraph for each):
You’re walking around the markets at around noon. There’s a lot of people around you, still gathering their items as they prepare to shut down their many stands. Suddenly you feel a gentle lifting of your coin purse as a child graces you and soon after they take off sprinting. You have been robbed.
Avouré pursued the thieving child with an expression of impotent rage on his features. Winding through the streets of the city he relentlessly pursued him but fell short due to his enormous size. Despite the limberness of the Dark Elves that he possessed, he simply couldn't catch up to the young boy for the life of him. Perhaps it was the whole chicken he ate an hour earlier, perhaps it was the ale in his belly. He came to a stop and almost puked an arm slung around a pole in the street as he almost keeled over and puked. "Why?" He questioned nobody in particular, already bemoaning the loss of such vital coin in his head and reminiscing it for hours. He slept alone on the street that night with the bone chilling cold.
You’re heading back to the city through the woods when you hear a whining coming from nearby. Upon further investigation you come across a grey-coloured wolf that appears to have its leg caught in a bear trap. Around it is three smaller lumps of fur, obviously puppies belonging to the trapped mother. Without help, they’ll all die, but wolf skins are quite valuable too, not to mention that the nearby farms suffer quite a bit from the wolf population.
This was a difficult choice for Avouré because his favorite animal was the wolf. He also imagined the wealth he could make from killing them and skinning them for their furs, but that prospective choice didn't sit well with him. Feeling immense guilt he made it his goal now to try and free them from their killer prison. "How macabre," he uttered quietly, his downcast gaze focused on the animals. "I'm so sorry..." He tried to free them and eventually, the mother wolf bled out and died. Managing to wrench the trap open with his sword after two hours of painstaking positioning and tampering, he gathered the puppies into his arms to carry them with him. By the time he reached his rented room at a tavern in the next town over he was littered with bites and bled from a scratch on his nose. But he took care of the cubs for a few days before trying to find them a new master.

-Do you have any prior roleplay-related experience, if so could you give an example?: Tons. I started about 6 years ago on Legends of aelryth. Have been on too many servers to count since then. Also did some roleplay on swtor. Most recent place I was a part of was lotc.
-Define Power-gaming in your own words: Power gaming is when your character does something unrealistic which does not give someone else the chance to respond. For example, Johnny the burly knight walks into the castle and slaughters all guards in the room with a single swipe of his sword.
-Define Meta-gaming in your own words: Meta gaming is the use of out of character information in character. For example, Johnny the burly knight hears in discord that King Tony the Great is allergic to pineapple pizza, so in a plot to kill the king, Johnny slips some pineapple pizza into the King’s soup.
-Define Role-Playing in your own words: Roleplaying is taking on the role of a character and creating a life and personality for them. For example, Johnny the buff knight is a very bad rule breaking rebel. I’d substitute my own personality for his own (I promise I’m no rebel which is why you should accept this app), and interact with the world as he would.

-Character name: Arvalynn Celrenir
-Character race: Dark elf
-Character gender: Female
-Character age: 34
-Character Occupation (optional, note you still must talk to the lord about loaning or purchasing any stall/shop for your character if he/she would have one. This more or less helps us to better understand your characters starting skill set): Arvalynn happens to know quite a bit about natural healing with herbs and therapy. She is also quite knowledgeable about farm animals.
-Character description (At least one to two paragraphs describing your character’s visual appearance.):
Her figure takes on a slender and gently curvy shape, appearing to be delicate and fragile. She stands at a "great" height of 5'6". Her face is as thin and heart shaped, her cheekbones, high and defined upon her clear and ashen visage. Her long eyelashes brush gently against her under eye, and they frame stunning dark eyes which are lined with an emerald tone. Surrounding her face, are pale curls which are kept pinned up neatly in a variety of intricate braids. Her attire is always rather casual, often sporting her normal tattered dress with a long overcoat.
-Character personality and traits (At least one to two paragraphs describing their personality traits and/or quirks.):
Arvalynn, despite her delicate exterior, is quite sarcastic and blunt at the worst of times. Her father raised her to be strong and confident, which she certainly fulfilled. She can be hot-headed occasionally, but once you earn her favour you've got it for life. She's quite loyal and goal-oriented, as she has been since she was a child.
-Character biography (At least three paragraphs describing your character's history and experiences):
Arvalynn opens her eyes turning over, the bright sunlight meeting her still sleepy eyes. Squinting, she sits up, her bed squeaking underneath her light weight. She brings her hands up to her eyes, rubbing the sleep out of them. She would soon get dressed, and step outside to start her days work. Farming, feeding the animals, going inside, and baking. Her mother would come along as well, doing most of the work with the animals, while Arvalynn did the jobs which required heavy labor. Her father was a mercenary, not home often but when he was, he'd tell her stories of when he was young, when everything was easy. He'd train her on occasion, as he’d expected her to be able to hold her own, and make their family proud. Her father had brought in plenty of coin for the family, with his career, especially during the war all those years ago and Arvalynn focused much on being able to support herself in the future, uncaring of what she’d have to go through to get what she wanted.
Every day was the same. Even if baking wasn't the ideal job, it passed the time. Though the day wasn’t particularly enjoyable, since many men and women who came along looked down on such a poor and seemingly weak woman such as Arvalynn, who, as far as they knew, did nothing worthy of their approval. With the war having recently ended only 12 years ago, the city was still recovering. They had been raided countless times, their fields salted, and all buildings aside from very few had been burnt down. Everyone was working hard to get back to the place they were. Though structurally, they had made much progress, it cost the city and the people lots of coin. Taxes were raised so the city could hire builders and architects and more. This is why Arvalynn took up the small trade of baking, because she needed the extra few coins it brought. But was it enough? The days were long and boring, customers were rude and unthankful of her cheap prices. Why spend the time working on something which she dreaded so much, when she could be making progress toward her end goal? So the next morning, when she woke up next to her same dusty window, she turned over, got up, packed her little belongings, and left a note for her mother. She was off to make a life for herself doing something she actually enjoyed with the small amount of coin she collected through her baking.
She had never walked so far in her life. She was nearing the docks, feeling as if she wanted to fall over. Her feet were sore, she hadn't felt so much pain in her legs ever. She questioned why she did this for a moment before remembering her plan. She then stood up straight and walked confidently towards the boat, stepping into the crowded line, which she wasn't fond of. Some people have rational fears, others, irrational. Arvalynn had rather irrational fears and crowds, were one of them. The waves rolled against the side of the boat, she found it rather nice, the thought of the rocking soothed her. However, she couldn't help but think about her mother... had she just abandoned her? She shook off the thought, joining the others on the ship. She watched as the boat got further, and further from land, and she knew she was unable to turn back. She had come too far. She found a place to sit, removing her shoes to let her aching feet rest and falling into a deep sleep as the calming waves rocked her back and fourth. Her dreams were filled with joy, the endless possibilities of a new life and a new beginning. Or that's how it was at first. They soon twisted into fears. What was she doing? Would her family consider her a woman of little care for her family if she disappeared like that? She soon snapped out of her dreams, waking up rather suddenly, her eyes would open to the crowd of people staring at her “I know I’m pretty but generally it’s rude to stare”. She snapped at them before lifting her hood, and closing her eyes to block them out as she drifts back to sleep.

Arvalynn would turn hastily in the direction of the thief, her expression dark in anger. As soon as she looked down, noticing it was a child, she raised her hood and carried on in that direction. If she found him, he'd inevitably give back her items, as she'd scold him for taking things which did not belong to him. If he was anything other than an elf she might make some rather racist remarks.

Arvalynn would glance over the wolf, considering her actions carefully. If she approached, she was aware that the mother would attempt to protect her children. Not to mention that wolves travel in packs, so more could be lurking nearby. Considering her options she waited next to a tree for some time, waiting for the mother to get weak. Then she’d approach with some bandage which she carried in her pack, and applied a medical salve which she’d prepared earlier with few natural ingredients used to promote healing and prevent infection. She’d apply the salve to the bandage, the wolf pups went to hide as Arvalynn approached. She wrapped the bandage around the mother’s leg and free her from the trap. Though there was no way to know for sure if the mother would recover, she’d be content knowing that she did what she could. She watched the mother limp off into the woods with her children and carried on down her path to the city.

-Do you have any prior roleplay-related experience, if so could you give an example? Yes. LotC for about 7 years but I hopped off for another year or so until recently.
-Define Power-gaming in your own words: Being unrealistic for the sake of winning a fight or getting some advantage in character. Example being that your warrior character could lift a man by the throat and does smirky talk while fending off five guys with one hand.
-Define Meta-gaming in your own words: Taking out of character information and using it in character for gain. Example, I hear someone is coming to a certain place at a certain time from Skype or ect., so I prep a massive ambush at said place and kill them.
-Define Role-Playing in your own words: Acting out a role, usually fantasy. Example in this case, acting out the life of my newly created character on minecraft.

-Character name: Tristian Sigmvar.
-Character race: Human.
-Character gender: Male.
-Character age: 34.
-Character Occupation: Hunter and lumberman. Transporting his lumber to sell and hunting for pelts along the way.
-Character description:
From top to bottom, Tristan has short black hair that's shaven above the ear. He's got murky green eyes and pale skin, with outgrown facial hair. He's somewhat bulky at the loss of flexibility but nothing like a strongman, only standing 5'11. He often wears a black vest and brown pelt with accompanying braces along his chest for hanging small items and leather cuffs for protection. From the waist below, he's got a red sash tied around him and brown trousers with black boots, none of which are in great condition. As it is, he doesn't look very friendly. Beneath his clothes were many notable scars from various lumbering and rarely hunting moments.
-Character personality and traits:
At first meet, one might find Tristian either quite self-centered and easily determined, should he be presenting himself properly. He’s usually good at appearing this way because of his long-standing, independent career. This however changes dramatically if he’s say at home or in a comfortable setting. Once those he meets get closer to him he's known, and even built a reputation for himself as a rather debaucherous fellow. Of course if someone across the room was watching him they would more than likely see him whilst he puts on his most mint-condition clothes. It is much less likely they well see him being his boisterous self. Tristian is riddled with insecurities regarding his self-esteem, integrity and worth amongst other things. Juxtaposed by his intense self-centred and incredulous nature makes for a complicated thought process. These insecurities and confidences often leave him surrounded by the material, whether that be his tools, snacks or otherwise unnecessary things or abusing substances. Some wonder how he can still train rather intensely, but his pride as a hunter and lumberer dominate his life more so than his material habits and obsessions.
-Character biography:
Tristian was born a ways outside Barkamsted, but was forced behind their walls with a mass of others not long after his birth. His mother had moved to the city with the hope of a life worth living and a new home after the irreplaceable destruction of their small camp, one which they barely made it out of. During the raging war, at least an unfortunate handful were desperate and erratic enough to attack their home for supplies. That being said, his father was a tradesman who’d been saving all his life to get his son an education of some sort at the very least, which had been thwarted after they escaped the camp and fled to Barkamsted. However, it was to his luck and Tristian’s that Tristian would draw the eye of a mill worker during their stay. The mill worker, Davius, was a very religious man who took him in to become a proper lumberer and so his childhood was unfortunately short-lived.
Laboring in his childhood and adolescence, he was found to be an incredibly bright boy with a penchant for religious speaking and especially hunting into the wild. He spoke of a love for Udero, the god of balance, with a new and refreshing vivacity that drove him forward in his risky hunting. It would only make sense, that when he came of age he would enlist in some aspect of fighting, but thinking himself undeserving he did not. Instead, he was released after finishing his minor studies to work as a lone hunter and trader of sorts amongst the inside- and eventually outside when the later years of the war permitted, the city.
Years went by in these roles and the young Tristian grew a fanbase for his riveting speeches, he ate and drank with many of his nearby fellow hunters, recounting their tales and renewing their faith in the darkest of moments for them. He sparred and hunted with them, eventually becoming a fair wielder of the axe as well as a half decent lead of hunting skirmishes but perhaps most importantly of all he embraced the cultures around him as unique with a lust to explore them. This exploration led to his love of language and drove him to convert handfuls of lost souls and others from their own apparently damaged faith to his particular brand of deity; Udero.
Upon the verge of Tristian's peak in his career, word was sent that his mother had passed due to being at the wrong place during the wrong time and was murdered. Without any further news he neglected his religious beliefs, shocking his close friends and those that studied with him when he became a speaker and skilled hunter. But alas, currently he works in and out of Falkvard selling lumber to almost exclusively the places that are the most in need of him, and sell pelts along the way should a faith-craving passerby need warmth and a good chat.

Tristian would immediately turn and run after them, determined to get his money back. Should he eventually capture the child, he'd take his money back and threaten them with a fist repeatedly until they're unable to respond or sincerely apologize. After which, he'd try to explain how to properly earn money and maybe suggest a place for them to earn it. He'd attempt to make a certain degree of friendship with everyone.
You’re heading back to the city through the woods when you hear a whining coming from nearby. Tristian is as much of a believer in balance as he is a hunter. That noted, he'd not sell the trapped one, rather kill it and leave it still. He understands from a hunter's perspective that losing a kill could have a huge impact on daily life. As for the puppies, he'd take one for himself to hesitantly kill and one to keep with himself. The last he would give freedom to run or stay put. He finds the odds equally divided, that way. Despite perhaps being a calice way to work, he finds it rests easier on his mind.
Oh, a familiar face! Either way, upon going through the application I found that the OOC and RP scenario sections were rather well written, but the character's personality and backstory do not fit well with the server. The backstory has a lack of necessary information such as how Arvalynn's family was affected by the Pact War and other such events, with the war is a vital piece to the server's history due to its massive impact on the entirety of the known world after having nearly wiped out the Alliance races in all but name and ruins. To offer a bit to work off of, the Pact War started 84 years ago, with the Elven Forest and home of Silvrenmir left 43 years ago and Barkamsted becoming the last bastion of the Alliance races 14 years ago. The wars ended 12 years ago counting the year-along Demon Wars that followed the Pact!
As for the personality, such a personality for Arvalynn heavily contradicts what is expected and practiced in Dark-Elven society. They are a culture with conflict and provocation very deeply ingrained into them, more specifically the overcoming of conflict.

You've got a solid baseline set for an interesting character, however, there are a few things you will need to tweak in order for it to be accepted. Before even addressing Avouré though, your definition for power-gaming could use more expansion! Namely how one's interactions with other players could be considered powergaming.
When it comes to Avoure's appearance, there are quite a few issues to change considering that he is a dark elf. Black hair is truly a rare feature for the race and if you will want to have this a natural trait, then I will need to roll past a DC of 17+. If you agree to this then he may have the chance for darker hair, but if not (or if the roll does not succeed) please change this to white or lighter hair. It's possible that he simply just dyes his hair this color, but do note this if that is the case. As well as this, 6'11" is much too tall and outside of the usual range for dark-elves. They tend to fall between 5' to 6' only. When I saw his skin too, I noticed that his eyes were grey. This is also another impossible trait for dark-elves, as all of them have red eyes that vary in different shades and intensities. Truly his whole appearance has a lot to rework!
With the mention of the Pact War you're already set on the right track to following our server's lore! However, I will have to make mention that Manadh Calad fell 43 years ago by this point, making Avoure much too young to have experienced much during the earlier portions of his backstory. If you could increase his age then it would be fine, or you could rework this part to have it aware that he was only four-years-old. Dark-elves may have a brutish culture but I do highly doubt he'd have had the opportunity being this young to join the militia before the war hit Silivrenmîr.
Just to make note of this, I will only be whitelisting one of your accounts. I would assume you want to use the account that you linked to show his skin, but do clarify which one you choose.

Hello, and thank you for applying! Unfortunately I'll have to deny the application solely for its backstory errors in both time and realism. To start, time; having been born 34 years ago, while the Pact War was still raging and Falkvard was in ruins and thick behind enemy territory. It would be next to impossible to live safely so far from that last safe bastion of the Alliance, Barkamsted, as with being born outside of its walls. Second, I would want to see more work put in on the Pact War and its effects on Tristian and his family, seeing as there is no mention of the war at all in in the backstory, a vital piece to the entirety of the server's lore. And a more minor third note, it is highly unlikely that Tristian would convert many Elves from their faith, as the majority of the race is devoted to the ways of their home, Silvrenmir, and due to their lengthy lifespan and common distaste of other races I feel as if it's not reasonable.
Should you wish to edit and adjust the problems in this app or try for another character, please poke once done and I'll see to it!
Thank you for your revisions! <3 Pleased to say that your application is now...

While you have made small mention of the Pact War in the application, I would like to see more focus on its impact with Wrynn or his family's life. True that his father would have experienced the brunt of it more, but it is uncertain where your character grew up. Did he live in Barkamsted all his life? Had his family ever had to flee from a village when he was still very young? Put more meat in all the details! I think there is a lot more of the server's lore that you can incorporate, at at the very least clarify some details.
The server has had many other notable events, though the Pact War is the most important one. It had lasted about 70 years and just recently ended 12 IC years ago when it lead on to the hellgates being opened by the cult. That would mean Wrynn has lived practically half his life in the era of relative peace.

Edited circumstances of lore story to line up with the right time and emphasized war, hopefully that works. I feel like adding too much emphasis on war could make the character and backstory seem darker than what it's meant to be, and Tristian's backstory isn't going to be built on all the faults of war, as that'd make him look darker than he's meant to be played. I try to make it light on purpose.

----IC Info---- -Character name: Gaspar dei Palma
-Character race: Human
-Character gender: Male
-Character age: Thirty-two
-Character Occupation (optional, note you still must talk to the lord about loaning or purchasing any stall/shop for your character if he/she would have one. This more or less helps us to better understand your characters starting skill set): Wandering Bard.
-Character description (At least one to two paragraphs describing your character’s visual appearance.): Gaspar is a fairly tall man, sitting at 5'11" with tan skin and medium length wavy hair. He wears long flowing and colorful robes and a scarf about his neck that loosely hangs, giving off the appearance of what a typical bard would be. He has bright emerald eyes and low facial hair mostly sitting along his jawline. He's of the athletic build simply due to how much he walks and travels by foot, not having a ton of muscle for harsh or intense feats of labor.
-Character personality and traits (At least one to two paragraphs describing their personality traits and/or quirks.): Go with the flow, is Gaspar's motto. He's a very careless man and easy going. Gaspar isn't quick to judge and actually pretty accepting of all races, especially women. He's a womanizer, or at least that's what most call him, and flirting is his natural reaction to most people. Gaspar loves engaging in conversation and meeting new people, especially those of differing races. Although he's quite lazy and lacking in work ethics, when it comes to being serious Gaspar can stand up for himself.
-Character biography (At least three paragraphs describing your character's history and experiences):
Gaspar was born during the midst of the Pact War, not even as a planned child. His parents were terrified of the thought of having to raise a child during such a hard time in Barkamstead after being forced out of their old home. They ended up leaving him at the local church of the town in the dead of night. Here, Gaspar was raised through his early childhood as a child of Udero in the local shrine just outside of town. He could only go out when it was confirmed safe by the guards with no risk of the attacking Cult.
One night, sick of being kept watch over and being ordered around Gaspar fled from the church to live in the streets of the city. He took to packs of other homeless children, learning to pickpocket and trick the wandering passerby into giving loose change. Eventually he took on the art of playing a lute to gain crowds and earn extra cash. Later in life at the age of eighteen Gaspar was kicked off the streets by the local guard and forced to join the military in order to help push back the Pact. Gaspar learned basic swordsmanship, never devoting much time into anything further than the normal movements.
After many months of fighting and struggle and Falkvard was reclaimed, Gaspar moved to the city and abandoned all forms of fighting. Finding he had no interest in staying in one place for two long he took to wandering and seeing the world. Though he soon found that with the opening of gates and releasing vile beasts he couldn't stray too far from civilization. That's what he continues to spend his days doing, playing music and swindling innocents from their coin.
~Gaspar pauses as he spots the running boy, sighing before he took chase. After a bit of chasing it was apparent he wasn't going to catch up to the speedy child. "Ah, hell. Now I'm down a whole ten coin. Sure he needed it more. Udero knows I was once like him." He laughed to himself, remembering the old days of pick-pocketing and realizing not much has changed. "Guess I'll need to find some wandering drunk to refill my pockets with coin." With that the bard moved off, idly strumming at his lute with a whistle escaping his puckered lips.
-Gaspar looks over the trap, testing to get closer to see the mother's reaction. Realizing she'd become hostile if he got close to her puppies he knew there wasn't much he could do. "Well, this trap was out here for creature's like you. And you wolves are... Well, a dime a dozen." He slowly drew out the shortsword on his side from his military days. He stepped forward and made short work of the injured beast, hefting the corpse onto his shoulder. Suddenly he remembered the pups, looking over the whimpering wolves. "Aw, well... I'm sure I can find some use for you all. Maybe even keep one!" The man picked up each pup by the scruff of their neck and rest them in the potato sack on his side and made his way off to the local market.
Extra notes (Optional, could include theme songs, pictures, etc.): Gaspar has a slight Italian accent simply due to his culture and upbringing on the streets with broken English being obvious in his dialect.
Only fill out below if you want your character to have magic capabilities. If you don't fill this out, then your character will be incapable of performing any form of magic. Note that it will take significant in character practice and experience to become any form of proficient in magic. (We only accept high quality magic applications!) _______________________________________________________________________
-Magic Biography; Explain the reason you want your character to have magic through backstory application:
Gaspar didn't realize he could cast magic until the earlier years in his life when he was a child in the life of a street urchin. He was taking his usual route outside of Falkvard, strumming his lute when a High-Elf greeted him. He inquired Gaspar about his wandering and asked for a song, to be amused of the sorts. Gaspar chimed, "Well, a show takes time and time is money. I'm sure you could spare some if you desire to have such entertainment." Amused, the High-Elf agreed to spare a few coins, though he didn't reach into his pocket to procure them which was... strange. Though, coin was coin and Gaspar isn't one to turn it down. He played his song like normal, giving a small dance around the elf which was more than a simple dance. This wasn't apparent to the elf, though, as he was too easily amused by the bard.
Once finished, Gaspar gave his bow and reached into his pocket for the coin, only to find they were gone! "Signore, it seems the coin you gave me was faulty. Either that or it grew legs and walked away." The Elf laughed, giving a wave of his hands as a few pigeons appeared from his hand like magic. Though it was exactly that. "Do not be so willing to trust the unknown, my dear bard.", spoke the Elf. He began to turn to leave before a jingle of coins echoed in his ears. Turning, the Elf saw Gaspar holding his coin pouch with a brimming smile. He had snatched it during his dance in a display of quick fingers! "What was that about trusting the unknown? How about a deal, I give you this very hefty feeling purse back in exchange for knowledge on what you just did." The Elf rolled his eyes "Obviously I can't do that. There's no way to tell what kind of magic you're able to cast if you're even able to cast it. Plus you'd need a trinket and those are near impossible to come by outside of the Mage's Guild." Gaspar was not so easily dissuaded though as his childlike determination kicked in. "Fine, let me borrow one of yours to test it. Any one will do."
The Elf was bewildered, taken back, and shocked. "One of mine?! Absolutely not! If- If you were to break one then... Well. Okay, I have one that you can try but if you break it that's a lot of gold you owe me!" And slowly, ever so slowly, he removed a small bracelet with a white gemstone implanted in the wrist. Offering it to Gaspar for the coin pouch, they made their trade. Gaspar toyed with the trinket a bit before huffing. The Elf held his hand out and rolled his eyes once more, "See, you can't cast magic. It's not really that surprising tha-.." Though he stopped himself short when he spotted Gaspar focusing intensely on the bracelet, which caused a small gust of wind to rustle his hair. Now normally a gust of wind like that was normal in such an area, but there hadn't been a breeze on this hot evening all day. Gaspar paused and looked up at him with a quirked brow, and losing his focus the breeze immediately stopped. "What?" pouted the boy, hoping there was something there. "You-... You know what? Keep it. I think it's broken anyway. Just-... Don't sell it. Hold onto it, okay? You may have... Potential. Maybe even visit the Mage's college when you're older." The Elf seemed a bit awestruck and turned to promptly move on off, coin purse in tow. Gaspar remained silent, having seen the surprise in the Elf's eyes and having hope for his future in the arcane.
-Please give an example in your own words describing the limitations placed upon those who use magic (This should be at least one well-crafted paragraph): Limitations placed on mages seem very similar to stamina limitations that would be placed on a skilled fighter, though mages have more utility to them. A mage's biggest limitation, though, would be the time it takes to even learn their spells. Akin to a musician wanting to learn a complex song on an instrument he just picked up, it'll take time. Even then it's hard to practice for many hours in a day without mentally draining himself. Mages must pace themselves and avoid casting too much or else they risk both mental and physical draining. Outside of just the mechanics of magic, there are limitations in skills outside of magic. Since mages have to spend their whole lives improving their magic, there can't be a mage who's a master swordsman as well as an insane magic caster. Mages need to have balanced skills outside of magic to ensure they don't become overpowered characters. Magic should be used as a driving force for a character, not a sole reason for existence. Next is the power of magic. Even in their own skill level mages need to have an understanding of what they can and can't do. A divine level earth mage still wouldn't be able to level mountains or raise entire plateaus. Magic takes an understanding of skill and power to ensure a balanced and fun character that can drive rp as much as create it.
-Please give a description of the magic system in your own words: Mages aren't much different than any other skill or occupation. Mages get more utility and use out of their ability than say a baker would with bread, but mages still need to practice as much, if not more, than a baker would. There's a big learning time frame that must take place ICly and even then there's only a limited number of times a mage can cast without becoming drained of their stamina. At early levels mages really can't do much, which pushes them to practice more in order to do more.
-You are given a weak trinket of air, you haven't had much practice with magic yet, but you will try your best. Describe some things you could/would do with this trinket: With a weak trinket of air, I wouldn't have much to do immediately other than use it to move Gaspar's hair for dramatic effect. Or maybe perhaps use a small gust of wind to push someone's paper off the table to distract them in order to snatch something off the table or signal someone else in a possible heist. Magic aside, the trinket could also be used to simply gain access to magic-only organizations, or be a sort of ticket into deeper magical secrets. It's much more than a simple tool used to cast magic, it's a symbol that can be used to open doors of opportunity into the community of mages.
You start with one aspect only. You gain the rest of them (How ever many your race may have) of your own choice through further RP, however you will not be able to attain them immediately.
Hello! The character looks fine, with a fairly reasonable and realistic backstory, so that has my approval! As for your magic application, the magic limitations section is very lackluster only including the time it takes to learn magic and the stamina cost to magic. I will need to see more of the limitations placed on magic in that section unless you wish to start the character without magic.

Poke when/if edited!
Added more detail and examples into limitations! If anything more is needed be sure to let me know.
Improvement, but still a ways to go with the magic application! To start what I noticed with a majority of the improvements was that they look to be more subjective and filler rather than the rules the magic must follow minding Saphriel's lore; rules that are accepted IC, the mechanisms to magic such as what is necessary to cast for example. This information can be found in the magic rules on-forum with a quick search through, and should help you move from there!
And apologies for the wait! Should you prefer to start without magic though, any character with an accepted character sheet may start without an accepted magic section so long they accept no magic and mention it.
Apologies for the wait! Unforeseen circumstances had seen the majority of staff busy, but your application hasn't been forgotten! However, for now it is...
Denied.
Unfortunately I'm going to have to deny this application on account of a lackluster and bare backstory. Nowhere does it include mention of the Pact war and its effects on Minerva's family's wealth; trade routes during the war were rather nonexistent as Barkamsted became the last safe haven, and it is highly unlikely Minerva's family's wealth would remain particularly worth much. Additionally, an attempt to trade or barter with the Pact would have likely simply seen the deaths of the family members involved by the hands of the Pact due to language barriers, bloodlust, and situation; should you wish to rewrite and fix this, I'd be happy to review it again.
On a second note, not particularly important to the application itself but to clear any confusion up, the roleplay-related experience section of the application is more regarding any past servers or other areas of roleplay you may have participated in, so as to more clearly understand your experience with roleplay! Examples include DnD and Pathfinder, for example.
Should edits be made, please mention and I'll be glad to give another review sooner!

-Define Power-gaming in your own words:
- To power game is to do actions that are impossible, lore-breaking or unrealistic. A good example would be the following.
Avoure decapitates Sloan.
That gives no room for Sloan to respond! Other forms of power-gaming include god-emoting, where you do things that are virtually impossible and not only give no room for a response, but you do not take any sort of realistic damage when struck yourself.
-Define Meta-gaming in your own words:
To use out-of-character information in-character.

-Character name:
Avouré Desellith
-Character race:
Dark Elf
-Character gender:
Male
-Character age:
102
-Character Occupation (optional, note you still must talk to the lord about loaning or purchasing any stall/shop for your character if he/she would have one.

-Define Role-Playing in your own words: Roleplaying is taking on the role of a character and creating a life and personality for them.

----IC Info----
-Character name: Tristian Sigmvar.
-Please give us a short RP response to these two scenarios.
You’re walking around the markets at around noon. There’s a lot of people around you, still gathering their items as they prepare to shut down their many stands. Suddenly you feel a gentle lifting of your coin purse as a child graces you and soon after they take off sprinting. You have been robbed.

Hope it's balanced enough. Thank you.

-Character name: Gaspar dei Palma

_______________________________________________________________________

If the magic applications is taking too long to review I'd be willing to start without magic, btw.
Your magic application is Pending.
Should you prefer to start without magic though, any character with an accepted character sheet may start without an accepted magic section so long they accept no magic and mention it.
made a new character application, this one isint 7 pages long https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-JsQvkTiXKn9Ebp8ZW9r21K6SOZvVpGKhK-wS9cM4T0/edit?usp=sharing
