----IC Info----
-Character name: Obbogowaba Ir'tik, for short Obbo.
-Character race: Goblin.
-Character gender: Male.
-Character age: 31
-Character Occupation (optional, note you still must talk to the lord about loaning or purchasing any stall/shop for your character if he/she would have one. This more or less helps us to better understand your characters starting skill set): A criminal. They do whatever for money, without thinking of the laws. This includes robbery and assault. He doesn't assassinate, only mutilates.
-Character description (At least one to two paragraphs describing your character’s visual appearance.): A short 134-centimetre man. He wears an all carrying belt(just a regular belt with a lot of things, such as knives and pouches, tied to it.) Obbo has old leather shoes on and a vest made from bears fur. He has a small amount of brownish hair on his head, which he grooms a lot. It may look a little pathetic, but he has a lot of pride, thus he can't let his hair be messy. His skin is green, like oak leaves, and has a lot of wrinkles. He looks a little older than he actually is. His eyes are dark brown.
He smells quite horrendous. Like rotten eggs and dead rats infested with maggots. His fingernails are always bitten, sometimes he doesn't have some due to constant lock picking and other work with them. He is very skinny but agile. With more muscle, he wouldn't be able to escape many scenarios, it's truly a miracle that he hasn't been mutilated yet due to all of the crimes he has committed.
-Character personality and traits (At least one to two paragraphs describing their personality traits and/or quirks.): Obbo is a rather selfish person. If he had an alignment it would be chaotic neutral, or chaotic evil. It depends on his mood. He has no regards for laws, outside his goblin territories. Inside the goblin territories, he is a rather well-kept citizen and respected by many, due to him bringing food, riches and other goods to them from far away lands(they're always stuff gotten by committing crimes.)What I mean by territories is that he doesn't rob from other goblins and is a respected individual in the goblin community. If a life is dangered, but he sees an opportunity to gain something he leaves the life and goes for the money, the only exception being goblins. He is highly nationalistic and thinks that goblins are the superior race, trolls and orcs come close behind. Sometimes he might have a hard time remembering what name he is using at the time, as he constantly changes his name in order to keep his identity a secret.
-Character biography (At least three paragraphs describing your character's history and experiences):Obbo was born in the rain outside to a poor father and a sick mother. His parents did what they could to support him and his four other siblings, but simply they couldn't. Obbo and his siblings had to scavenge, rob and hunt for themselves in order to survive in the harsh slums. His oldest brothers did the hunting, while his youngest brother and sister did the scavenging. Obbo was the only sibling with enough ability to rob anyone. What he brought to the daily table was money, jewelry and other general items found from people's pockets. Some of it was sold, but most was used to trade for food, clothes and other things to make life easier.
Eventually his mother would pass and his father would leave them to mourn, he never returned to them but the siblings no longer needed him. Slowly they gained wealth and started building a better and bigger house for themselves. They gave themselves a new lastname, Ir'Tik. They became the house of Ir'Tik, but later the house would be disbanded due to Obbo disagreeing with the four other siblings due to them not wanting to steal or commit crimes. The siblings enjoyed the wealth and drank wine daily!
On a faithful day, the other siblings realized what Obbo was doing was wrong though... They attempted to "banish" him from the house, but it was unsuccessful. Obbo managed to turn them against each other and while they did that he took his belongings, not touching the sibling's stuff, but to be fair almost everything was his. If they didn't agree with his ways, he'd leave. To this day he lives in the slums and robs people from the better areas.
I know this is a very small and short backstory :c
-Please give us a short RP response to these two scenarios. (At least one paragraph for each):
You’re walking around the markets at around noon. There’s a lot of people around you, still gathering their items as they prepare to shut down their many stands. Suddenly you feel a gentle lifting of your coin purse as a child graces you and soon after they take off sprinting. You have been robbed.
Obbo runs after the child chasing him to a backalley. He unseaths a knife and talks to him in a very manipulative and eerie way:" There's two ways this can go kiddo. You either give me the money now, or I take my money and everything else you have. What will you choose?" After a while Obbo demandingly."Tik tok child!" He was becoming very impatient and grew angrier every second. Some rosy colour would rise on his cheeks as he dwelled in anger!
You’re heading back to the city through the woods when you hear a whining coming from nearby. Upon further investigation, you come across a grey-coloured wolf that appears to have its leg caught in a bear trap. Around it is three smaller lumps of fur, obviously puppies belonging to the trapped mother. Without help, they’ll all die, but wolf skins are quite valuable too, not to mention that the nearby farms suffer quite a bit from the wolf population.
"Oh what a treasure!" Obbo slains the cubs with a rather merciful way. He slits their throats and takes their furs and all meat he can carry. The meat can be used as a scam! Stupid nobles always think it's beef and the furs can be used for trading and selling! Oh how lucky he was, he thought. HE whistled as he skinned them and stuffed his pouches with meat and fangs, carrying the furs on his back. He almost fell over due to all the weight!
Extra notes (Optional, could include theme songs, pictures, etc.): None
The OOC section of this app looks fine, but there are a few issues with the character himself! For a start, please note that, at the age of 31, a Goblin is rather elderly and will likely not be as capable in comparison to them in their youth, as they age rather rapidly to account for their reproduction. Furthermore, going through the backstory, I found no mention of the Pact War or its impact on the Goblin, his family, and his tribe. There was no mention of their location and duty during the war, nor anything to hint that there was one. Please work on fixing this!

-Do you have any prior roleplay-related experience, if so could you give an example?
I was an administrator on the Drakeheart Roleplay server, in charge with storyline and lore. I’ve also played on a lot of other roleplay servers, and enjoy it from almost all aspects.
-Define Power-gaming in your own words:
It’s the act of taking away agency from other players by limiting their possibility to react, to your actions. Examples *I cut your hand off*. It can also be inflating own powers, thereby limiting other players possibility *Summons a ball of fire larger than the world and hurls it at Halomantis*
-Define Meta-gaming in your own words:
Meta gaming is the use of knowledge not obtained in character. There’s often a fine line when you can argue that perhaps your character would know about certain things, but in most cases it manifests itself in two forms.
1. Another character knowing things they shouldn’t know
2. Character showing up to action out of nowhere.
Second one can sometimes be excused, with the ultimate goal of RP being to have fun.
-Define Role-Playing in your own words:
Roleplaying is to take on the personality and character of someone else and act as them. It’s a form of acting, which is shaped by many different people acting as different personas, and therefore is a very collaborative experience.

-Character biography
Short story (To get into the head of my character i wrote a short story from his perspective and chose to include it. The "proper" backstory can be found beneath it)
“In the thicket of a pine tree grove, a large Ca'liar sits alone, crossed legged and with closed eyes. He raises a long wooden pipe to his mouth and inhales slowly, before puffing out a large cloud of pure white smoke. If you happened to stand near him, you would see nothing but the ever changing patterns of cloudy fumes rippling as they ascend towards the warm sun. But to him, as he opens his wise brown eyes, the patterns are stories; he sees his past, and his heart aches as it plays out in front of him.. “Orders are stone, unmoving, unchanging, unphased” He hears his own voice commanding “It is the order of the general, and thus an extension of the emperor's will”. Two shapes appear next to him, a younger Ca'liar, looking much like himself replies“I know father, but this doesn't feel right”. He sees his past self looking at his son, both dressed in military armor “Imdar, my son, this is the burden of command, you must be willing to push your own feelings and thoughts aside, you need to follow. Anything else, is chaos” The younger Ca'liar retracts, and moves back to third person in the distance as the scene disappears and flows into another. They are now standing in front of dead bodies, masked and spread on the ground around them, he sees himself standing in the midst of the former battlefield, with his monk's spade, glistening with fragrant blood, a satisfied grimace on his face. “Commander!” a voice yells. It’s the third Ca'liar, who is crouched over one of the masked bodies. He’s holding the wooden mask in his hand, tears running down his face. He sees his past self rushing over, standing solemn, before whispering “I was told they were grown adults.. This one… she’s still a cub..” His face contorts as he realized what he has just done.. what they had just done.
The scene flows away in the smoke, and he now sees himself sitting over scrolls, whispering words to himself. The young ca'liar enters the room “Father i am leaving, my heart, can bear no more, i must find a place where every breath is not one of pain.. is not one of regret” He sees himself looking down for a long time, before rising up and embracing his son tightly “I do not wish for you to leave my cub, how can i move past” The younger ca'liar holds him tight “Goodbye father” he says as he removes himself from the tight grip. The older ca'liar is left, with his arms weak, as he falls to his knees. The younger Ca'liar stands for a while near the door with the other Ca'liar from the previous memory. He stares so intently at this memory, but even as he tries to keep it in place. He cries for his old self to do something, but the smoke simply flows away as the memory fades into another. He is standing amidst smoke and soot, his home is burning behind him, and a voice keeps yelling, banging, echoing, before it becomes clear “Your son made him do it! You have to pay for his crimes! Dar would never have left if not for your coward of a son!” The other ca'liar, dressed in military armor, shorter, stands as he attempts to keep his tears from rolling “I challenge you to duel! To restore the honor of my family and for you to pay for his deeds!” “I will not fight you” He hears himself say, as he stands in nothing but trousers, in front of the smaller Ca'liar. “Do it you coward! fight me!” “I will not fight a friend” “You give me no choice!” The grieving ca'liar roars as he swings his blade through the air, arms shaking as the blade comes down towards his foe. “Acts of grief will never heal a heart which has been crushed” He hears his former self exclaim, as he stands, with his hand holding the blade in place, as blood runs down his arm, a solemn expression on his face. The memory begins to fade and the haze of smoke becomes lighter, he gets back up to his feet with a slow sigh, and stares up at the rays of lights coming down in tights cones between the pine needles “Mhmm not even the darkest of memories must cloud such a beautiful day” He says to no one, and cracks a little smiles before getting his things and leaving the grove.“
Backstory
Raad was born before the conflict between the monks and empire escalated. By the time it did he had become a grown adult, and had joined the ranks of the empirical army, married a wife whom he loved, and even gotten a son, Imdar.
Tried and tested in battle, war become most of what Raad knew, and he wasn't all bad at it. His superiors knew that they could rely on him to get the job done, and enjoyed the victories he helped earn for the empire. With years of experience Raad eventually got to lead his own command, saw how his son managed to enter the army, and with pride he admitted him into his own unit. Imdar was fierce and loyal like his father, and their bond as father and son became stronger with every mission.
One summer evening where the rain fell slow and damp on the hot still hot grass, a messenger arrived with orders to Raad camp. The message was directly from one of the higher ups he trusted, so he trusted the message, with no doubts. It was an instruction to take over a rebellious village hidden away in a valley amongst the mountains. Orders were clear.. Kill all the rebels.
They left immediately, and arrived at their destination a day later as the sun was setting. The company was in good mood, it had been some time since they’d seen combat, and Raad had been drilling them hard, so they were ready to show their skills of. Imdar, was a little hesitant, questioning his father as to whether it really was necessary to sack a village, without the chance to surrender. Raad shook the questions off, their orders were clear, and as such so was his resolve.
As they arrived the small company charged in, with weapons raised and roaring so loud it echoed like thunder in the valley. They were immediately met with resistance, white robbed, and masked, with poor weapons. Raad felt the blood rush to him, as he swings his monk spade around carving through foes, with ease and brute strength. It all lasted less than five minutes before the village square had turned from a peaceful green and white, to now be a painting in all shades of red.
Satisfied Raad rallied his troops, but one of them lingered. Raad approached the soldier as they called and discovered that the dead corpse was not that of an adult as he’d thought. His stomach turned and soon horror had spread to the entire troop as they searched the bodies and realized all their foes had been women and children.
Life after this became bleak. Time did not heal the wounds their souls had suffered, their actions could not be taken back.
When Imdar came to his father to tell him the pain was too big to bear anymore, Raad couldn’t bring the words to his mouth to stop his son from ending his own life.
In the aftermath it was found out that Imdar had made a pact with the soldier who’d found the first corpse, Shol who was the son of another officer. Together Shol and Imdar had climbed a mountain to its peak, and from there take a dive into oblivion.
The dishonour this brought upon Raad, and the other officer soon led to a confrontation. But Raad was done fighting, he couldn’t not shed anymore blood. Instead of fighting he stopped his foe, and embraced him, before leaving the city, and disappearing into the wilderness. He gave up his armor, his weapon his title and his lands, and became a hermit.
For twenty years he traveled the lands. He meditated amongst the monks, learned from sages, tried to find peace in nature. Even in his waking hours, the pictures would still play out in front of him, but he began to find meaning and drive in them. He would aid small villages, helping them fight off animals, og aid in the harvesting of crops, in the return for food. Eventually word spread of, of a lone Ca’liar traveling the roads, and every now and then old foes who believed he should pay for having turned his back to the empire would show up.
Raads body now carries many scars from these confrontations, but he would never kill those who came for him, only make them unable to fight, and leave them at the door of temples.
The constant threat however began to make him strive from his new path, and he realized he must leave his homeland if he wanted to be able to live the life he was meant to. With a stick in his hand, a cloak on his back, the Ca’liar made his way to ships heading for Saphriel to seek peace and purpose. For ten years he traveled the lands learning the language and helping out strangers and victims of the war with the pact. Attempting for the most part to stay out of conflict, he became a teacher to some, and pupil to others. Now his road leads him towards Barkamsted, maybe that is where he will find the right answers... or questions.

Raad smiles to himself “Kid must need it more than me” He tries to remember the features of the kid, so maybe one day he can teach him how to steal without being discovered so easily.
You’re heading back to the city through the woods when you hear a whining coming from nearby. Upon further investigation you come across a grey-colored wolf that appears to have its leg caught in a bear trap. Raad approaches the wolf mother slowly with a gentle step “Here there mother wolf, be calm and you’ll quickly be free”. He bows down and opens the bear trap. From his satchel he takes out a few rations of meat and gives it to the Wolf mother, she will need it to recover faster. For the pups he leaves a bit as well.
-Do you have any prior roleplay-related experience, if so could you give an example? I’ve been involved in roleplaying forums pretty much my entire time on the internet. Within recent years i’ve also participated in tabletop games - I’ve especially enjoyed systems like Blades in the Dark and Powered by the Apocalypse, though certain editions of Dungeons and Dragons aren’t bad. Regardless, I mean to say I’ve roleplayed a lot.
-Define Power-gaming in your own words: Power gaming is, in essence, a narrative form of “not playing fair”. I remember that in my early days of RPing, examples given ranged from things like “having your character constantly dodge attacks but overriding the will of other players by saying that you insta-murdered them before they could dodge” and “making your character invincible”
-Define Meta-gaming in your own words: Another narrative form of not playing fair - this time, making use of things that you know, but that your character definitely doesn’t. Any use of out of game knowledge is especially considered metagaming when it grants an advantage to your character.
-Define Role-Playing in your own words: Role-playing is, simply put, playing a role. What distinguishes roleplaying in this context from acting and improv is the gamification and longevity of the narrative forged. Simply put: When you roleplay, the goal is to weave an improvised story not to entertain a passive audience, but to entertain yourself and the other active participants. Characters (roles) are also not as arbitrary or on-the-fly as in an improv show.

-Character age: 20
-Character Occupation (optional, note you still must talk to the lord about loaning or purchasing any stall/shop for your character if he/she would have one. This more or less helps us to better understand your characters starting skill set): Itinerant preacher (“traveling nuisance”, some prefer). Formerly, he was apprenticed to a tax-collector and worked under him in some capacity as a scribe.
-Character description (At least one to two paragraphs describing your character’s visual appearance.): A brown-haired young man with bright green eyes and perpetually ink-stained fingers. His vagrancy is evident: a bath is a rare luxury, doubly so for one who usually sleeps with the stars for a roof. Every set of clothes he’s owned, for a while now, inevitably ends up unraveling at the edges. Hence, Johan’s other name of “Fraysleeves”. In spite of his leanness and unimpressive countenance, his voice booms loudly when he performs his sermons (“ravings” to the unenlightened).
-Character personality and traits (At least one to two paragraphs describing their personality traits and/or quirks.): Johan is single-minded in his aims, a wholehearted believer in what he has come to think is the truth. That’s not to say he entirely lacks pragmatism - he has sense enough that he knows when to back down. A retreat is not ideal in warfare, even the spiritual kind. But he realizes that the “Live to fight another day” mantra is just as applicable as well. But above all, he is a zealot - his greatest strength and most crippling weakness.
-Character biography (At least three paragraphs describing your character's history and experiences):
Johan Fraysleeves was not always the roaming firebrand he is today. He was once, though it's hard to imagine, a child. One with a childhood not unfamiliar to those born before the end of the Pact Wars. His father wasn’t around - not by choice, mind you, but because he most likely perished a few years before the triumphant counter-raid on the Orc war-camps outside of Barkamsted. His widowed mother has it that he met his end as a levied peasant-soldier in one of the numerous “fighting retreats” that marked those times before the aforementioned reversal of fortunes in the war. There are many in his hometown who maintain, however, that he is a *******-child born as the result of his mother’s brief fling with a traveling bard. Johan prefers the former account.
Johan claims his first memories are of Barkamsted the night the Pact forces were repelled from the surrounding swamps. He recalls the booming and flashing of cannonfire like distant storms, and that many had gathered to watch and cheer on from the walls the victors. One could smell the singed orc-flesh for miles. The narrative is dubious, but Johan maintains its accuracy.
Fraysleeves received his nickname in no small part due to his mother’s poor sewing. The blame cannot be laid on her, however, due to her hands’ tendency to shake uncontrollably. She even perished in such a manner - convulsing horrendously no doubt due to a disease she acquired in her single-minded insistence on “making ends meet” (by what means she did is best left up to the reader’s imagination). One of her “clients” took pity on Johan, and it is by these means that he became apprenticed to a local tax-collector. Herein he learned the scribal arts: meticulously copying and re-copying and signing various forms and monetary statements, but most importantly the ability to read and write.
And yet, he was not satisfied. There is something soul-sucking about squeezing every last coin from poor and rich alike, and evil is the man that enjoys it. He began to spend his free-time in the pursuit of knowledge - devouring every book he could get his hands on. Of especial interest to him were the religious works - tales of creation and gods, and what exactly it was to be mortal.
It was one such book that served as the trigger for his sudden change - an exegesis on Aderoth, commissioned by some especially zealous members of her church. It was this that prompted his temporary donning of the monk’s habit. But even then was he not satisfied, finding in the official account of things much to be desired. He fasted and prayed for six days, on the sixth night having dreams of unique and (in his opinion) prophetic character. This marked his final break with Aderoth’s church, and his departure from friends and family and home not long after. And so here he arrives in Falkvard, ready to preach the truth.

“It is a foolish thief indeed to steal from one of such modest means - clearly a novice at urichenry, to have not noticed the lightness of my coinpurse while you hold it in your hand!” I loudly remonstrate, hoping to catch the attention of passerby. “Dump it out - you will find it as empty as your stomach. Go bogart a meal from someone who deserves it - wickedness abounds in this town.”

Without even thinking, I pry open the bear-trap’s jaws. My eyes follow the she-wolf and her cubs as they slink back into the underbrush. Suddenly,I am struck by inspiration. I continue on my path, hastily scrawling on a piece of parchment I had been carrying with me the words:
“The Hidden God waits for the opportune time - it does not approach us like we are the archetypal wounded beast of the forest, leg ensnared in two metal jaws, rescue an uncertain matter. No, certain is the Will-Be-Named’s arrival. And certain is the Will-Be-Named’s deliverance…”
I lift the pen from paper and think to myself “Needs some fine-tuning. Still, very serviceable”. I give no further thought to wounded wolves and their offspring.

-Define Power-gaming in your own words: Powergaming is, in a simple description, When two players meet, if one of them overplays the abilities of their characters. for example this would be stabbing through metal, cutting a sword, or scaling a vertical wall with no equipment.
-Define Meta-gaming in your own words: Metagaming is when a person uses information they got out of character to affect their roleplay. This would be a person is getting robbed outside of a city and they tell their friend on discord to tell the guard and then the guard come and attack the robber.

Starting at twelve Gallahand was trained to be a well versed and capable person. His father usually had him hunting alone after training him how to shoot a bow efficiently. Once he turned eight-teen he was taught how to use a sword and fight with pugilism. Gallahand developed a fighting style where he used a shield much like a pugilist would use a glove, training to use it as his heavy hitter and his sword as his light and distraction weapon.
Soon Gallahand found himself being self sufficient, so he approached his parents and told them how he wished to leave and find his own way, his father and mother smiled and nodded, Releasing him to the world. At first he was unsure of what to do with his new found freedom. As time went on he had made himeself a tent from a deer hide, and wolf fur. He would move around the wilderness, usually avoiding settlements unless he needed to have his sword sharpened, wanted to something other than water, or to sell his extra meat and hide.

"How could someone use such a vile, inhumane, and cowardly trap." he though before moving to release the wolf, wrapping up her hurt leg and letting her go. Gallahand would leave the trap but move to a nearby brush, drawing his bow from his back and readying an arrow, resting it on the string, he'd sit and wait. Extra notes (Optional, could include theme songs, pictures, etc.):
While the application is mostly well-done and organize, particularly in the OOC half, the biography will require quite a bit of work. The main issue is the woodblock printing, which is not yet a method of printing in Saphriel. Furthermore, I would like more information in regards to the Pact War! While your character would be born rather close to its end, and likely without actual experience in combat, it would still have caused notable issues with his family in terms of deaths, hunger, and crime. Once edits have been made, please poke!
While the majority of the application is fine, the IC section will require quite The big problem with the biography is that it completely lacks any information regarding the Pact War, Saphriel itself, or any details regarding location and the world. It seems more like a copy and paste of an application than one which keeps in mind the various issues of the world at its time. Furthermore, character personality and description are severely lacking. Should you wish to attempt re-applying, please fix these issues and another review will follow!
-Do you have any prior roleplay-related experience, if so could you give an example?
I do have quite a bit of roleplay experience ranging from the common D&D to many MMORPG's that I have played purely for the roleplay elements. I have gone through many different servers within games and roleplayed as and with all sorts of different characters so I am sure that it won't take long at all to adjust to Saphriel. Although I have but don't often roleplay within Minecraft I am familiar with the basic rules and things to abide by when playing so there should be no problems there either.

Power-gaming is a method of roleplaying that is widely punished and unaccepted due to its unfair advantages it gives players; not to mention how it ruins experiences. Power-gaming is when someone would create a character that is far more superior in specific ways that would provide bonuses to them that other players would be unable to obtain, this goes the same for someone making a character that can start off stronger or richer than others are able to. People who use power-gaming generally don't have a lot of respect for the roleplaying community as it can affect how other players enjoy their time. Power-gaming is also when a player does an action without giving the opposing player any time to react, this can include a murder where a player goes straight for a killing blow action without giving any time for the other player to react; thus ending their characters life and they could not do anything about it, rendering them helpless.
-Define Meta-gaming in your own words:
Meta-gaming is more on the information side of things unlike power-gaming being actual roleplay. Meta-gaming is using out of character knowledge to gain in character advantages. This includes if you overheard something in a chat you weren't supposed to be in and then use this information against other people; this is unfair and is punished in many places. But it is not only using information against other people, meta-gaming can also be when someone uses knowledge, for example, they know where a dangerous monster is, to then make their character avoid it perfectly to skip out any chances of their character dying or undergoing consequences for their choices. Meta-gaming, similarly to power-gaming, ruins a lot of player experiences since some people might be going around countering things based on information that they gained out of character which pressurises the characters in game as what they were planning might not be able to be put into action anymore.
-Define Role-Playing in your own words:
Role-playing is where you, the player, controls a character of choice most commonly in a fictional environment decided by the games owner/game master(s). This character, as long as it abides by the rules and doesn't be put under power-gaming or meta-gaming, shouldn't have any limits to what you can create therefore whatever you see as your dream life you will be able to act out. Role-playing when putting it simply is just a place where you will be able to enter a world that you could only dream of, or go to an era in which you cant live anymore to relive it how you would imagine it, it is a perfect way of entertainment as long as all players follow rules.

-Character name:
Arya Lancaster
-Character race:
Human
-Character gender:
Female
-Character age:
33
-Character Occupation (optional, note you still must talk to the lord about loaning or purchasing any stall/shop for your character if he/she would have one. This more or less helps us to better understand your characters starting skill set):
Former scam artist/con-woman(?)
Former street brawler
Aspiring fighter/combatant
-Character description (At least one to two paragraphs describing your character’s visual appearance.):
Arya stands confidently at five foot six with a well-toned body. Whilst she is particularly strong she isn't notably muscular, however if you look closely you can tell. To accompany a hard to miss bust she has decided to start wearing little clothing, this consists of a somewhat neatly torn shirt which leaves the belly exposed, a thin but suitable jacket to go over it in case of cooler weather, baggy but neat pants (trousers, jeans, whatever name is more suitable) reaching down to the shins and a pair of brown boots. Going above the neck she wears a grey scarf that if not worn around the neck, goes around her waist. Her hair is a light ginger colour accompanied by a shade of hazel for her eyes. Her skin in places is notably rough however her face in particular is one place where her skin is as smooth as can be; the only imperfection are a few freckles for whoever think that to be one. The last thing to note is that her knuckles are more worn out and rough than the rest of her skin, as if used a lot.
-Character personality and traits (At least one to two paragraphs describing their personality traits and/or quirks.):
Arya has a very positive and cheerful personality and is a good person to have around in conversation. She never intently tries to break a mood and is constantly wanting to keep everyone happy whether this is through jokes or just a good time. Although not always happy she does not let her inner thoughts affect her outside appearance, so you could say it is almost impossible to tell when she is in a bad mood. Arya will never back down from a good challenge, particularly if it involves little thinking and fists; she is very simple. On the note of being a good person to have around, it probably isn't a good idea to have her around bars unless you wish to see a new Arya, she adores drinking no matter what day or what time. She loves making as many friends as possible and if she finds someone that will prove this to be a challenge, she wont ever give up on being friends with them too. She is a huge animal lover, particularly any animal that is a beast or... just something that can make a loud noise. Sometimes she can be very mischievous and try to cause a few problems, however she has tried as good as she can to leave this habit in the past. Finally although kind of hinted already, she is generally just very hands on and can be quite touchy or pull people into hugs without asking which can prove annoying for many.
-Character biography (At least three paragraphs describing your character's history and experiences):
Arya was raised in a moderately sized settlement just off the outskirts of Barkamsted. It was a generally a nice place to live however it was made up mostly of slums and poverty. Since there wasn't many people doing well financially, everyone there was equal in terms of their rights which made many get along. This wouldn't count for Arya and her family though since she was brought up in a family of thieves. Since birth it was almost inevitable that she was to turn out like them and with the pact war and other crisis's that would have been going on, many people had more to care about than keeping an eye on their belongings; this made it much easier. Since a very young age, Arya would learn skills (although not many good ones) such as how to avoid being caught when trying to pick pocket someone and how to get away and disappear into a crowd when needed. She would prove to be very hard to teach and she was very hands on with how she did things so pick pocketing seemed a task to teach her. During her upbringing her education every day would be short to fit in other things but it would be enough to get her by, whilst she did this it was almost certain that her family would be out doing no good and it would only be a matter of time before they got what they deserved for their actions which wasn't really on her mind.
When Arya got to the age where she would be able to go out and try getting things for herself, she was an instant success. Around this age she had the look of 'innocent and approachable' so it made it easy to get peoples attention when she needed it. She only got better at this with time making very small amounts of money every day but it was enough to get through life. On a day where she got more than expected, she used what she had learned to make it home safely however only to find out that her family was being arrested and they would be taken somewhere to be held until further notice; resulting in her having to be homeless. She was still quite young she could not have the home to herself, along with it being too expensive to keep herself of course. Whilst being homeless she was able to put a lot of thought into her life, having to live in an alley is a good inspiration booster it seems, and she decided to do something good. Every day she would see scouts and little troops leaving the settlement, and wait to see that only few return. She thought to herself numbers might be getting thin so she went to a person of reputation to learn how to defend herself. Since she had been alone all of this time, the thought of her family not being with her wasn't much of a bother anymore.
And thus she would learn to fight, not liking any of the weapons they had to offer she used her fists and would also be toughened up a bit. Although this fighting method would not be so useful in fights she just wanted it to be able to defend herself at minimum, even if it only buys her a few seconds. This would go on for quite a while, perhaps a year or so before news of the pact being close to their settlement began to spread. People immediately started to panic, Arya not so much because being a daughter of a thieving household she knew all of the ways to get out of the town and how to get to other places relatively safely. It would only be a matter of time before the pact did end up reaching her home and completely decimating it, not many people were able to evacuate, many people she loved and cared for; gone in an instant. She, however, managed to evacuate and make her way to Barkamsted where she knew it was the 'safe haven' of man-kind.
Upon getting there she managed to live safely with some people she knew who also managed to make it there, although not a particularly happy lifestyle she wanted to keep the mood up despite knowing her family is either out there somewhere or sadly, dead. She made a promise for their sake that she would not let it bother her or her life and try her best to make other people happy, thus leaving her past lifestyle of cheating people out of their money and belongings behind her. The time she spent in Barkamsted she used honing her skills in fist-to-fist combat, fighting many people she knew, for training of course. This would go on for some time until news of the pact war coming to an end spread across the city and she used this moment straight away to try and improve her life. She said her farewells to those she lived with and moved out, exploring the city in a way she hadn't, knowing people might not be on much of an edge as they were in the war.
From this moment she just decided to travel and see where the world takes her, bringing the spirit of her family along the way she was sure she would survive until the end, for them. Oh, and by this time she developed her taste for drinking which probably wouldn't turn out to be a good thing.
-Please give us a short RP response to these two scenarios. (At least one paragraph for each):
I will answer these scenarios as if playing the character I am applying for.
You’re walking around the markets at around noon. There’s a lot of people around you, still gathering their items as they prepare to shut down their many stands. Suddenly you feel a gentle lifting of your coin purse as a child graces you and soon after they take off sprinting. You have been robbed.
I go after the child, knowing that they surely cant out run me, trying to get me at my own act. Weaving in and out of the crowd I eventually catch up to the child and put a hand gently on their head to stop them in their tracks. "Kid, this doesn't work on me. Give back what you took", and soon enough I would get my coin purse returned, I used this opportunity to explain my past briefly to the child and how thieving doesn't actually get you too far and that you should do something good and valuable with your life. The child left, somewhat enlightened or at least that is what I would like to think, I turn around, shopping at whatever stalls are still open before leaving.
You’re heading back to the city through the woods when you hear a whining coming from nearby. Upon further investigation you come across a grey-coloured wolf that appears to have its leg caught in a bear trap. Around it is three smaller lumps of fur, obviously puppies belonging to the trapped mother. Without help, they’ll all die, but wolf skins are quite valuable too, not to mention that the nearby farms suffer quite a bit from the wolf population.
As I come across the wolves a part of me considers the value of wolf skins but what kind of monster would want to kill wolves for their skin. I try my best to open the trap on the mother, wrapping something close by around the wound to try and stop the blood flow. However I knew that the mother probably wouldn't last long but I gather the puppies and put them near the mother and surely they turn around to walk away. Someone close by who also heard the cries bumped into me and asked if I knew what it was, I say it was nothing and that I have already checked out the area before leaving to go home.

Qa’vir looks for his coin purse and growls "Little ****..." he would mutter under his breath before running after the child. Him being small and nimble would give him a great advantage over the child allowing him to sprint up to behind him and grab the kids arm "Hand it over. Now" He would order holding the kid in place resisting the urge to smack him. After receiving his coin purse back he would stare at the kid and scratch his chin "Don't steal kid. It's not gonna end well when you grow older" Qa’vir chuckles as he walks off, casually stealing an apple and biting into and looking back at the kid before tossing him the bitten into apple with a smug grin when he realizes this kid was once in the same situation he was in.

Looks at the injured wolf with a soft frown making it's way onto his face "Poor dog.." He unsheathes his blade and raises it up bringing it down on the wolfs neck in hopes to end it's suffering. After the wolf dies he grabs the pups with a sigh "I don't think I can raise you three, but I can't leave you here." He moves his knapsack over and places them into the pack before taking the corpse of the mother and covering it in a mound of dirt as a sort of a burial. Qa’vir wipes away any shed tears and takes the knapsack of pups and making his way home knowing he has three extra mouths to feed now.

-Character Occupation (optional, note you still must talk to the lord about loaning or purchasing any stall/shop for your character if he/she would have one. This more or less helps us to better understand your characters starting skill set): Bodyguard
-Character description (At least one to two paragraphs describing your character’s visual appearance.): Giarc is a simple orc with rough grey eyes, he has a broken iron pauldron on his left shoulder, with his completely bald head. His body is partly covered with straps to keep his useless equipment attached and wears a comforting red loincloth. He has heavily stained covered brown boots with the white hide on the inside. His skin is that of a fair green as most of his other brothers are with it given a dark hue on his shaved head.
-Character personality and traits (At least one to two paragraphs describing their personality traits and/or quirks.): Giarc is a quiet, charismatic lad who values his compatriots. Though he is quite strong this does strain his intelligence and he himself believes to be the most articulate orc alive. Though he says this he is easily impressionable and does what most tell him to do.
-Character biography (At least three paragraphs describing your character's history and experiences):
Giarc of the arc family was born within a stronghold within The Pact. His family were warriors that were given a homestead the Fall of Tenifae when Giarc's father suffered large wounds, protecting a commander. During the age of 7, Giarc's family was given a plot of land that soon turned into a mass homestead and Giarc spent time helping them work their worth. The plot of land faced much scrutiny as other races under the pact quarreled with his family for not continuing the fight when they could. After some time they learned that his family won't give up their homes... they stopped. During the time of The Cult's mayhem, his families land and livestock were destroyed through their movements because their personal beliefs didn't fit that of the Cults. The years have allowed them to moved away from the warrior lifestyle. During a disagreement with the cult members for not allowing them to stay at their stead, they set up a plan to get back at Giarc's family. Late one evening they were attacked by the drunken troops, and their rage cost Giarc his family and lifestyle. Though resilient in protecting their land, they were wiped out with Giarc being forced to run with his life savings.
Giarc was unable to get the education others had because of his families status and was mainly taught through there experiences and told what and what not to say to anger them. These teachings led Giarc to grow a need to be liked among humankind and he did this through his feats of strength and endurance, having a drinking contest with the adults and generally lightening the mood before the incident.
Giarc was a man who was taught the ways of combat at a young age, he did not, however, manage to do good in these training until learning how to throw javelins and use a bow, this which surprised his family and the nearby locals who watched the homes and were surprised at hearing an orc who prefers bows to warhammers. Throughout the years he’s farmed and managed to get a sizable fund to begin his adventures which he told his parents and friends of in the past before the incident occurred. He set sail on the boat to travel far from his home to another part of Saphriel, hoping to escape from his past by making new memories.

Running after the boy, Giarc would yell for the boy to come back and persist in his pursuit. If the boy ran in alleys, Giarc would follow and try to catch up. After the child ran to a dead end, Giarc would move up and grab the child by the leg, lifting him over him. He’d take the purse back, set the boy down and hand him some of the coins “Go get some food.” and let the boy leave.

Within the moment Giarc would decide to save the wolf as it’s the one currently dying. He would move his pauldron to separate him and the wolf moving his hands to the handles of the trap and pressing down to release the wolf. After that he would take a few quick steps back, watching the wolf waiting for it to leave or attack.
-Do you have any prior roleplay-related experience, if so could you give an example?
Yes! I've roleplayed the majority of my life and love it to death! I've RP'd on other servers, D&D, and other various methods for RP. I've also been a staff member on a roleplay server in charge of events and other stuff! It's lasted quite a while, I still am in fact! I've always loved RP and have much much experience in it.
-Define Power-gaming in your own words:
To act upon someone and give them no chance to reflect, dodge, or counter in any way. For instance, I stab you in the gut after doing several pirouettes leading into a neck snap killing you instantly! Now, that's a harsh example. But you get the idea! It gave no chance for my target to fight back.
-Define Meta-gaming in your own words:
Using any knowledge one has out of character whilst in character. For instance I learn someone is plotting a plan to kill the king through my friend Jim, who says Jimmy (A character) plans to kill said king. When I learn of this, I proceed to attack Jimmy in the street, or even just talk to him more than I had been.
-Define Role-Playing in your own words:
Well, I'd say role-playing is getting into, and playing, a character. Immersing yourself within a world and becoming something else for a period of time. Growing and developing a character and getting fully immersed into them. That's what I'd call role-play.

-Character name:
Gwynris Leswin Duraseul
-Character race:
Half-dwarf
-Character gender:
Female
-Character age:
22
-Character Occupation (optional, note you still must talk to the lord about loaning or purchasing any stall/shop for your character if he/she would have one. This more or less helps us to better understand your characters starting skill set):
Well, she really has no job at the moment. But she may most likely start as more of a sellsword if anything. But that is about it for now. She's skilled in some combat and has skills in adventure and exploring as well.
-Character description (At least one to two paragraphs describing your character’s visual appearance.):
Gwynris Leswin Duraseul looks to be a half dwarf hailing from the northern regions of the world, this is shown rather clearly in her pale skin and clothing really meant for the colder regions of the world. She's still rather short, about 5'8" in height and of a bulky, yet still feminine build. She more has an athletic gladiators build of sorts, and plenty of non-visible scars covering her battle from spars and fights of the like, and she has one especially clear one going over her eye, a common scar really. She has long and wild flaming red hair that twirls into a braid she has draped across her chest.
-Character personality and traits (At least one to two paragraphs describing their personality traits and/or quirks.):
Gwynris is a kind soul, but also a fiery one. She had the qualities of a leader but can often forget where her skills fall short, overestimating her own abilities. She can have a bit of a temper in times of stress as well, not one to stay calm in a moment of panic really, and a fiery rage if you were to fall short or wrong her in any ways. However in the end she means well, she often shoots her goals high and reaches to achieve them by most any means. She does hold some semblance of honor however, having the (large amount of) pride a dwarf would normally have. She's a natural leader still, having a normally decent sense of morality and direction and a kind heart beneath that fiery cold exterior.
-Character biography (At least three paragraphs describing your character's history and experiences):
One faithful night in the woods a skinny dwarf, Peter Duraseul, and a beautiful human woman, Anara Wrest, had a chance encounter, they'd always fancied each other, however until now... the woman knew not she'd been speaking with a dwarf. They'd had what one would call a forbidden love in a way, something the man insisted stayed a secret, he believed the woman couldn't love the dwarf the same way one would love a human, of which she was, as her parents certainly didn't approve of such actions. However, it turned out she cared very little of his shorter stockier stature, as when a series of unfortunate circumstanced led to them finally meeting face to face, they wasted no time in well... making love, or rather, making a child. Needless to say things went rather quickly from there... the child showing signs and the couple deciding it was best to flee north, where none of the judgement of their current home could follow them. Several months after they left, a baby girl was born, she was a strange baby... certainly a small baby, but a strong one as well. She was a bit of a fat baby as well! Something she'd lose more and more of as she aged, but for now... they had what they thought to be a dwarven baby girl, and they would name her as such, Gwynris Leswin Duraseul.
Age brought much for Gwynris! A much leaner physique, as she'd age a rather active young girl. Taking to the dwarven spirit of adventure and pride... perhaps a bit too much pride in her younger years. Gwyn would usually be found climbing trees with confidence and pretending sticks were blades of all the sorts all while, to her parents curiosities... being a very tall dwarf, yet still, a bit short for a human? Years passed and her parents never considered there was really an in between of dwarf and human, though they cared very little and questioned even less. Gwynris was their daughter, they loved her dearly and could care less what she came out of the womb as, she was there's, and always would be. That is, until her mother was killed by a wolf one evening whilst knitting on their cabins porch. Within that instance, the now eleven year old Gwynris had had just about everything change... something she'd yet to experience had reared it's ugly head, death, and with it, came grief. Peter become quiet, he was much different from his once lighthearted charismatic self unfortunately, he did what he needed each day for them to survive.. and that was it. He existed now to simply raise his daughter, she was all he had. He did however, kill the wolf with Gwynris.
Eventually, Gwynris grew into a young woman. Having gone through turmoil and life struggle, she'd dulled a bit... but she was young at the time, she did not lose all her fire as her father did. She did unfortunately take a rage from the man in her growth however... things tended to anger her more easily than they once had. She was kind-spirited sure, but she now had her moments of anger and pessimism. The girl was coming into her own however, hunting on her own, visiting the towns nearby on her own, and dreaming on her own. She'd decide it was time to act on those dreams, saying goodbye to her father, and taking her leave... her father would proceed to move into the nearby village, likely simply to keep himself entertained. Gwynris took no issues with it, it kept her father alive and well... he was certainly recovering from his old sorrows and discovering his humor once more. With some tears, many hugs, and a somber farewell for now, Gwynris took off to find a real place in the world. She'd travel through many scenarios before coming to her current standing however! Meet friends, lose friends. She was once attacked by pillagers, she killed one of these men whilst taking her escape in the night. Another encounter was with a wolf pack... something that had developed into a fear of Gwynris's for well... clear reasons. She struggled, but did manage to take out two of the wolves, the others would flee at the sight of their pack mates being sent into a shallow grave, however, there was a nasty scar left over Gwynris's right eye, further solidifying a near permanent fear of the wild canines. Gwyn encountered many other situations in the wilds, travelling further and further until she'd finally arrive to where she currently resided, what awaits next for the fiery spirited girl only the gods could tell, but it's sure to be interesting...
-Please give us a short RP response to these two scenarios. (At least one paragraph for each):

Gwyn would glance around, a tad unknowingly... and then very angrily, searching eyes as she's take off into a full sprint. Gwynris saw not that her robber was a child... but she'd likely have chased nonetheless, not knowing how else to handle this situation really... Gwyn was not the fastest to ever be, but she was clever, eyeing the child quickly taking shelter behind a building when the crowds favored a disappearing act... with that knowledge, she'd turn the corner quickly, a small blade drawn, and grab at the arm of the boy. She'd stare angrily, catching her breath a few moments... now seeing that this is but a child. She'd stare a few moments longer.. and then sigh, reaching to pull her coin back. "You're a little **** ya know that..? Stealing will get you killed." she would move her dagger a bit in his direction threateningly, then place but one single coin of the lowest value in his hand "Don't be an idiot and get caught if you're going to do it.." The boy was likely scared, but Gwyn didn't care.. at all really. She had her coins back and that's what mattered in that moment. She'd simply take her leave... the guards can catch the boy doing the same act another day she'd imagine.

Gwyn stared... harsh judging eyes upon the wicked beast that was the wolf. The whimpering did not help her initial decision to walk away... she'd slowly.. very slowly, move over, examining the bear trap dooming the wolves to an oh so cruel death. She came to a few conclusions... she could kill the mother, and the puppies would die. She could kill them all... and that'd be well... just clearly the wrong thing to do. She was kind in heart... even to the worst of beings.. she'd step forward... keeping as much distance as possible between her and the bear trap.. she'd take out a blade, preferably a hard one, and press it into the teeth of the trap... using her foot, again, with as much distance as she possibly can to slowly open the bear trap.. the moment this was done, she'd hop back, moving back even more and more... hopefully watching the vicious beasts simply and slowly, lumber away.

A good first application, but there are a few things to go through! First off, I would like the profession of 'craftsman' to be further defined, as being able to make anything given the time and materials is a rather great feat in smithing, fletching, engineer, tinkering, pottery, and other such fields of work. Specify on that, as well as which type of Ca'liar Qa'Vir is; if he is a small Ca'liar, he will definitely be much smaller than 5'2", more around the height of Dwelves! Furthermore, what is meant by the 'Split of Einar?' Einar began war somewhere around a late-70 years ago, unknown specifically. Please work on refining the backstory to explain what exactly is meant by this. Once all edits are made, please poke me and another review will follow.
The majority of the application seems good to go, but the backstory for your character will require a fair bit of work. I feel as if the timeline was received incorrectly, as the Pact War would have still been going strong when Giarc was born. The Pact War had started 87 years ago and ended 15, so please adjust and further refine your character's backstory based on this; how his family and he went through and survived the fight between Alliance and Pact, be it in the mesas or the Alliance's land, and so on. Once edits have been made, please poke and another review will follow!
-Do you have any prior roleplay-related experience, if so could you give an example?: A few years back I was a loyal member to a fairly strong roleplay server, and made my way upwards from event team to eventually becoming a general moderator. I’d like to try a new roleplay server from the perspective of a player.
-Define Power-gaming in your own words: The most common form of this would be in combat, where, not wanting to lose, players will often force an action that would give a lot of power to themselves upon someone else, without giving the opposition a fair opportunity to react and counter the situation.
-Define Meta-gaming in your own words: The forums provide a lot of knowledge that the community has worked hard to put together regarding their own characters, and word of mouth can get around out of character of events and mishaps occurring throughout the server. However, if somebody has not been a part of these events, nor have they heard about them through the means of role-play on the server, their character should be oblivious to these, otherwise that would be meta-gaming.
-Define Role-Playing in your own words: To me, role-playing is creating a character unique to yourself and interacting with others, making choices, and living out the consequences as well.

-Character name: Baryn
-Character race: Human
-Character gender: Male
-Character age: 27
-Character Occupation: I will be joining the server unemployed, but Baryn wishes to hone his skills as a swordsman, possibly becoming a knight.
-Character description: Baryn’s face is rugged, his skin resembling a pale ivory colour. His hair is medium-long, and a somewhat messy beard with touches of grey in it connects from side to side, and around his chapped lips. His eyes are a warm brown, and he dresses minimalistically in earthy leather and cotton. He stands at about 5’11”, carrying 190 pounds of weight.
-Character personality and traits: Baryn is best fitted to a lawful neutral character alignment. While he would eventually come around to doing what is right, he would never be the first person to resist the crown or break any law. While sarcasm isn’t completely nonexistent when he speaks, he is much more of a logical thinker and rarely retorts. Baryn is also not quick to judge, trying his best to learn as much as he can about any given situation before he inputs any opinion towards it. While he is not naive, almost anyone to him is innocent until proven guilty.
-Character biography:
Baryn grew up as a middle class boy in Falkvard. By no means was his family rich, his father was a knight and his mother worked where she could find it, mostly at the market. While he always dreamed of having a brother, Baryn’s father did not believe the family would be able to support more than one child, and so Barryn spent a lot of his time wandering the city and looking for things to do. He was always interested in Knighthood, and hoped he could one day be like his father.
When he turned 13, his father gifted him with a wooden sword, and was able to use his handiness to build a makeshift dummy for Baryn to practice with while his father was not home. He spent his teenage years practicing a fair amount by himself during the day, and with his father when he returned from work. When his mom returned from the market she would often have him help her with dinner, as she wanted to make sure that he had at least a few skills other than swinging a sword.
Being around 30 when Baryn was born, his father eventually succumbed to old age, passing away peacefully at home. While the loss of his father did hurt Baryn, he was an adult, and was content with the way his father had raised him and given him someone to look up to, despite being rather busy. However, this did leave his mother at home without someone to provide a primary income for the family, and Baryn came to the realization that him and his mom simply wandering the markets and looking for people that would take some assistance for a small amount of pay wouldn’t be enough to provide enough money for food and the cost of their house. Baryn obeyed his father’s wish to be buried with the armor and weapons he used to protect his kingdom, leaving Baryn with nothing but a small amount of money and the need for an occupation.
-You’re walking around the markets at around noon. There’s a lot of people around you, still gathering their items as they prepare to shut down their many stands. Suddenly you feel a gentle lifting of your coin purse as a child graces you and soon after they take off sprinting. You have been robbed.
Baryn felt the small lift quickly, but not enough to catch the kid before he took off. Without drawing much attention to the situation, Baryn shuffled his way through the crowds of people to see the child turning the corner of a street. Quickly accelerating from a light jog to a run, he rushed around corners and behind houses, calling out to the kid rather than drawing the attention of anyone else. While he certainly wanted the money he’d been carrying on him back, he felt that there was a reason the kid had taken his money, and didn’t want to get the kid in trouble with authorities. From street to street, house to house Baryn chased the child until the kid climbed onto the rear of a slowly moving carriage, and made a risky jump from the hood of the carriage to the roof of a small house. After gaining his footing, the kid stood up and ran across the roof of the house, disappearing behind it. Baryn’s run came to a slow halt as he watched the kid trot off, and he couldn’t help but crack a slight smile at the craftiness of the boy.
The edits made have been good in including the Pact War and its effects on Giarc's life, but more work will need to be done on the majority of the application's setting. That being that Orcish were not particularly easy to enslave and capture by the Humans, who did not have the space nor the reason to keep Orcs as the war reached its climax 17 years ago, when Barkamsted had become the last safe bastion of man. Any Orcs ever potentially found in this bastion would suffer death shortly after discovery. Furthermore, the Fall of Tenifae itself was a rather easy win for the Pact; the Cult absolutely mowed through the lands until being stopped by Barkamsted at the swamps of the peninsula. Please edit and adjust for this! Once edits have been made, poke and another review may follow!
A good OOC section, but your IC info is lacking in a few major sections! First off is the backstory itself. The Pact War is not mentioned once in the application, and the timeline of the backstory is warped in that Falkvard had only been retaken from the war 15 years ago, at the end of a ~72 year war. Before then, the lands were mowed through by the Pact forces until they were stopped at Barkamsted 17 years ago, the last standing walled city of the Alliance races which refused to fall. Also, you are missing one of the two RP scenarios! Should you wish to try at this character again, please remake and rewrite as is necessary and poke me once ready for another review!
Hello there, thank you for applying to our server! I'm pleased to see your attempt and the app is well-written but nonetheless I'm afraid I'm going to have to deny this. The reason being that there is absolutely no mention of the Pact War in your character's biography! The Pact War was a 72-year-long event which your character would have been born toward the end of. I'd like you to edit your application to reflect the long-lasting effects it would have had on your character - how did their parents deal with the war? What were their circumstances of meeting /during/ the war? Did either parents fight in the war at all? What about encounters? There is a /lot/ you need to play with there so bare it in mind, her parents likely would have had to move around a lot and the northern regions are dangerous unless they resided in the city of Barkamsted, where most refugees of the fallen cities fled.
Another thing is mostly race related. Being a half-dwarf is not an easy thing. It would likely cause tension between the couple even if they loved her. What were their feelings toward their child, did her dwarven father ignore his dwarven pride for her? Likewise, between the couple, did any resentment come? If not, what was the reasoning? How does she herself feel about being half-dwarven? Also mind that being a half-dwarf is not an obvious thing - most do not know it exists so even her parents could have easily mistaken her for just a really buff human child.
Please make these adjustments and I'll look over them once they're done!
Thank you for your edits! The application looks to be almost completely in order, with the Pact War and its damage accounted for. However, there are still a couple inconsistencies and errors which must be fleshed out before Giarc may be accepted! The first big one is the that Cult is not a race, it is a group; Orcs and Goblins were not a part of the Cult, but merely allied with them, their combined numbers being known as the 'Pact.' Futhermore, it is mentioned in your third paragraph that his training was watched over by Lords, and that his set sail to distant lands to begin his entry to the server; where exactly did he travel? Saphriel is one great landmass, without islands under its name. Furthermore, which Lords do you mean? The Pact did not have nobility, having only been led by their separate tribes in Orcish history.
Please clarify and refine as is needed, and poke when edits have been made!
Made some revisions to the original application. Thank you for the feedback, and let me know how this application looks. -Albzy

-Character biography:
Baryn was born in Barkamsted in the midst of The Pact War, meaning there was no chance that his father, a Knight, would have been able to be present for the birth of his son. Nevertheless, Baryn’s mother was able to safely give birth to him and was raised somewhat as a ******* son in the years that the war raged on. He did get to see his father occasionally, who told stories of the war and what he had seen, educating Baryn on the evils of the world at quite a young age. In his youthful ears while his father was away, Baryn spent his time at home ineffectively practicing with a wooden sword, wanting to be like his father. This was simply a pastime for him, as his mother went into town during the day to work where she could, as food was scarce in the city and she needed to feed Baryn and herself. When she was home, she spent time teaching Baryn skills around the house such as cooking and tannery.
The war finally came to an end, and Baryn’s father was able to return home to his now-adolescent son, who was shaping out to be a man despite an absence of a father figure in the home. Realizing his son was dead-set on becoming a formidable swordsman, Baryn’s father agreed to teach him the basics and train him when available. However, Baryn’s father was a respected man among the Knights and didn’t quite want to step down from the role yet, so his availability for Baryn was still limited. Despite this, Baryn still was able to gain a decent amount of experience in swordsmanship as he entered adulthood.
Being around 30 when Baryn was born, his father eventually succumbed to old age, passing away peacefully at home. While the loss of his father did hurt Baryn, he was an adult, and was content with the way his father had raised him and given him someone to look up to, despite being rather busy. However, this did leave his mother at home without someone to provide a primary income for the family, and Baryn came to the realization that him and his mom simply wandering the markets and looking for people that would take assistance for a small amount of pay wouldn’t be enough to provide enough money for food and the cost of their house. Baryn obeyed his father’s wish to be buried with the armor and weapons he used to protect his kingdom, leaving Baryn with nothing but a small amount of money and the need for an occupation. Baryn and his mother left Barkamsted for Falkvard, hoping to find occupation and new relationships in their new city.

-You’re heading back to the city through the woods when you hear a whining coming from nearby.
While not naive, Baryn was raised to be an optimistic person. Due to limited knowledge of wolves, and a thought process that led him to believe that a lost leg wouldn’t be the death of this mother if handled properly, Baryn drew from his bag 6 feet of twine and a knife. He cut the twine in half, giving himself 2 separate pieces. He struggled with the mother wolf, who snarled and nipped at him, but he eventually was able to tie the first string around the mouth of the mother, keeping its fangs from being able to pry at him as he did his work. With the second string of twine, he tightly wrapped around and around the trapped leg of the mother until he was certain it was tight enough to stop the bleeding and cut off the circulation. Gritting his teeth, he slit at the leg of the mother wolf, cutting it from the rest of her body, and setting her free. While it isn’t easy for a wolf to walk with three legs, it isn’t impossible. He cut the slab of beef he’d been planning to cook in half, removing the twine from the mouth of the mother wolf and putting the beef down in front of her. Praying to Aderoth for the well-being of the wolves, he turned and made his way back towards the city.
Thanks for the edits, they've done a great job to capture the character in the setting of Saphriel and fit previously mentioned requirements! Everything should be good to go, so welcome to Saphriel and enjoy your stay!

-Character name: Brokkr Wayland
-Character race: Half Dwarf
-Character gender: Male
-Character age: 20
-Character Occupation (optional, note you still must talk to the lord about loaning or purchasing any stall/shop for your character if he/she would have one. This more or less helps us to better understand your characters starting skill set): Journeyman smith and general vagabond as need be
-Character description (At least one to two paragraphs describing your character’s visual appearance.):Brokkr stands at a solid 5’10, built for his trade it seemed; with strong arms and broad shoulders he certainly suited it. He wasn’t overly heavy, not a prize fighter by any standard, but his heritage showed through, whether he knew it or not. He had short blonde hair, often untidy for he didn’t own a brush, with dark blue eyes and fairly pale skin from working under a canopy to keep the smith’s yard shady and cool.
-Character personality and traits (At least one to two paragraphs describing their personality traits and/or quirks.): Generally seen about with a bright expression when in the company of those he knows well or alone, he can quickly fall back into sullen quietness, especially among nobles, he knows his place well enough and has been put in it before. He looked down upon the tradeless and unskilled; by extension looking up to the those who were more skilled, or held refined trades. He forms friendships quickly and grudges quicker yet, but isn’t fool enough to let either get in the way of a profit.
-Character biography (At least three paragraphs describing your character's history and experiences):
Brokkr Wayland, born in a small forge in Barkamsted, second son of a smith, Kerioth Wayland, and a woman he never knew, but that was no hardship to him, as he’d put it ‘You can’t miss something you’ve never had,’. He was just approaching his fifth year when the Pact war ended and in his youthful state realized little of the world changing events that unfurled around him, taking note of little but his father’s near constant worry and work. So it came about that he had a relatively ruleless childhood, romping around the forge, he learned quickly what not to touch.
As the war came to its close he had a few peaceful years with his father, learning much of his numbers and how to feed himself with little coin, the lack of war brought a slight lack in coin, there was always some work to do for a smith, but lean times came and went. Then, some time after his ninth birthday disaster struck the Wayland’s as his elder brother Simon fell ill and unfortunately never recovered from the weakening of his body, living but too weak to tend the forge, the family’s income was near halved. Simon went on to be a taxman’s apprentice in his later years, learning to read and write but with this his life of leisure ended, Wayland was forced to begin an apprenticeship under his father, working iron, steel and bronze to forge everything from cutlery to the occasional weapon. Life was good, the work was hard and the days passed in a routine that changed just enough to never grow truly monotonous, but even so, his gaze eventually turned away from the forge and to the world around him.
His seventeenth birthday came and went and he developed a fondness for strong ale and foolish stunts, wrestling behind bars, egging houses, petty pranks and acts of bravado that built in him a distrust of the guards, men he saw as trying to ‘keep him down’. He used his time at the forge to make things of a less honest nature, picks and crowbars, short metal bars to be fitted to wooden batons for weight and from time to time short knives. Each night the words would echo from his father when he returned or left. “You’re making a wastrel of yourself, you’re more than that,” But what did an old mans words matter to the heat of youth? He was just another lad as far as he was concerned, stronger than most, but he assumed that was just from working the forge, it never occurred to him that even as a child he had outweighed his older brother. So he and his friends went out each night, causing trouble and fighting with other gangs of young men. So it continued for a year or so, each night going out, causing trouble and fleeing the guards, all good natured but of course, it would all catch up, two young men in jail and Brokkr barely making his escape, bursting into his home as the sun came up, panting and bleeding from a baton strike to the jaw, a missing tooth as a trophy of that night, the back left molar.
Did it straighten him out? Scare him straight? Not at all, but it made him consider the consequences of his actions for sure. Which brings us nicely to the present, leaving the stomping ground of his youth and heading out on the road, not really sure where he was headed, but he’d find something.
Brokkr noticed the weight vanish and his brow furrowed, he turned on his heel and with a low shout of annoyance took off after the child, pushing his way through the crowd around him but between the child’s smaller size and the people in his way he knew he wasn’t going to catch up, so after a few moments of chase he cursed softly and gave up, checking the coins hidden in the seams of his tunic. A loss to be certain, but it wouldn’t ruin him.

Without help, they’ll all die, but wolf skins are quite valuable too, not to mention that the nearby farms suffer quite a bit from the wolf population.
Brokkr grew up among farmers, he had helped dress calves and boar after slaughter, he had even carried the skins to the tanner, he knew skins were valuable, so upon seeing a trapped wolf his eyes dipped to the small pouch of coins at his hip, then the knife that hung alongside it, but his hand didn’t take it, instead he took up his hammer, the tool of his trade and circling the wolf in as casual a manner as he could to get behind it before lashing out, going to strike it at the base of its skull, to put it out of its misery and make himself a fair bit of coin. The pups were a different question, the tailor’s *****’d had pups recently and between himself and the tailor they’d find someone wanting to own a wolf pup reared to a human hand. He set about skinning the larger wolf, then swiftly rounded up the whining lumps, wrapping them in the fur before heading into town

Obbo runs after the child chasing him to a backalley. He unseaths a knife and talks to him in a very manipulative and eerie way:" There's two ways this can go kiddo. You either give me the money now, or I take my money and everything else you have. What will you choose?" After a while Obbo demandingly."Tik tok child!" He was becoming very impatient and grew angrier every second. Some rosy colour would rise on his cheeks as he dwelled in anger!

This application is Pending.

Short story
(To get into the head of my character i wrote a short story from his perspective and chose to include it.
The young ca'liar enters the room “Father i am leaving, my heart, can bear no more, i must find a place where every breath is not one of pain.. is not one of regret”
He sees himself looking down for a long time, before rising up and embracing his son tightly “I do not wish for you to leave my cub, how can i move past” The younger ca'liar holds him tight “Goodbye father” he says as he removes himself from the tight grip.
Dar would never have left if not for your coward of a son!”
The other ca'liar, dressed in military armor, shorter, stands as he attempts to keep his tears from rolling “I challenge you to duel! To restore the honor of my family and for you to pay for his deeds!”
“I will not fight you” He hears himself say, as he stands in nothing but trousers, in front of the smaller Ca'liar.
“Do it you coward! fight me!”
“I will not fight a friend”
“You give me no choice!” The grieving ca'liar roars as he swings his blade through the air, arms shaking as the blade comes down towards his foe.

You’re walking around the markets at around noon. There’s a lot of people around you, still gathering their items as they prepare to shut down their many stands. Suddenly you feel a gentle lifting of your coin purse as a child graces you and soon after they take off sprinting. You have been robbed.
Around it is three smaller lumps of fur, obviously puppies belonging to the trapped mother. Without help, they’ll all die, but wolf skins are quite valuable too, not to mention that the nearby farms suffer quite a bit from the wolf population.

Upon seeing the sight, Gallahands expression turned to that of rage. Soon the hunter would come to see the trap empty and Gallahand would teach the coward a lesson.

-Define Power-gaming in your own words:

-Character name: Giarc
-Character race: Orc
-Character gender: Male
-Character age: 30

You’re heading back to the city through the woods when you hear a whining coming from nearby.

This application is Pending.

-Albzy

-Do you have any prior roleplay-related experience, if so could you give an example? A few years back I was a loyal member to a fairly strong roleplay server, and made my way upwards from event team to eventually becoming a general moderator.
However, if somebody has not been a part of these events, nor have they heard about them through the means of roleplay on the server, their character should be oblivious to these, otherwise that would be meta-gaming.
-Define Role-Playing in your own words: To me, roleplaying is creating a character unique to yourself and interacting with others, making choices, and living out the consequences as well.
----IC Info----
-Character name: Baryn

----IC Info----
-Character name: Brokkr Wayland
