-Skype name (Optional, for server OOC chat): Not released to the public, but I'm willing to join.
-Do you have any prior roleplay-related experience, if so could you give an example
I've been playing D&D since I was maybe six, I have experience as a player and as a DM in that regard. I have spent quite a bit of time on various (not to be mentioned for privacy concerns) roleplaying websites, to the extent that I've had art commissioned of some established characters, however much that's worth to you.
-Define Power-gaming in your own words: I find this rather vague and I don't hear it often, though when I do hear it it's usually used in the context of being a Munchkin (building a character who is mechanically broken within the game system, then abusing that mechanical advantage to destroy the game) or as a synonym to meta-gaming, usually in combination with IRP coercion.
-Define Meta-gaming in your own words: Taking knowledge that you as a player know and spinning it into knowledge your character knows. Example being Character A responding in outrage to something Character B's talking sword said, even though ostensibly the only person who can hear said talking sword is Character B.
-Define Role-Playing in your own words: Playing a role. Pretend. Make believe. Whether you're Trogdar the Mighty or Minny the Maid, if you're claiming to be someone you're not you're roleplaying.

-Character name: Sola Lenissima
-Character race: TieflingHalf-demon
-Character gender: Female
-Character age: 48
-Character Occupation (optional, note you still must talk to the lord about loaning or purchasing any stall/shop for your character if he/she would have one. This more or less helps us to better understand your characters starting skill set): Defender and mediator, insofar as people will trust her with their lives or property.
-Character description (At least one to two paragraphs describing your character’s visual appearance.): Sola stands tall, towering over others at an impressive height approaching, if not exceeding seven feet. Sprouting from her long blonde hair is a pair of stately horns, rivaling even that of a mighty minotaur. Her skin is a pale cream, a rather unique sight among her kind, and her eyes are pupil-less orbs of silver that radiate a warm, regal fire. A glance at her chest confirms that she is amply endowed, and a glance at her frame makes readily apparent that nature has been kind to the rest of her as well, in strength and in comeliness, able to compete with any knight. Below the waist a serpent's tail can be swaying behind her, constantly at motion, hard at work to keep her balanced against her heavy horns.
-Character personality and traits (At least one to two paragraphs describing their personality traits and/or quirks.): Sola is at first a harsh and severe woman, unabashed to tell it like it is, and though she never comes across as explicitly rude she does command a presence that demands she be respected. With rare exceptions, Sola is even-tempered and well-spoken, her arguments persuasive by sheer virtue of how correct she sounds when she speaks. Those who come to know her closely swear by her honesty and motherly nature, though passersby end up feeling more intimidated by her than anything else.
-Character biography (At least three paragraphs describing your character's history and experiences): Sola was born to an unknown human mother approaching fifty years ago. Due to her light complexion and humanoid hue Sola until the age of five, when her secondary demonic characteristics, mainly the warping of her legs and sprouting of horns were discovered by her mother. Fearing for her own life, her mother abandoned her to the streets a week later. Starving and hungry, the little demon child took to begging, her devil's tongue lending her unusual success in the pursuit. Her luck ran out, however, at the age of twelve, when a disgruntled passerby ripped her hood off her head to reveal her budding pair of horns. Guards were called, and the little Sola was chased, and cornered, in an alleyway. As the guardsmen approached, fully intending to behead the girl, a respected monk-judge of Uderos intervened on her behalf, claiming she was his acolyte and that any harm brought to her would be a disservice to the gods. Ever superstitious, the guardsmen relented and released her into his care. He took her home, fed her and clothed her, and trained her to fight in martial arts, as well as with the maul, as well as teaching her the ways of logic, justice, discipline, rhetoric and investigation, molding her into a consummate arbitrator. Now, at the age of 48, she has wandered in from parts unknown to preside over the great conflicts of her age.
-Please give us a short RP response to these two scenarios. (At least one paragraph for each):
You’re walking around the markets at around noon. There’s a lot of people around you, still gathering their items as they prepare to shut down their many stands. Suddenly you feel a gentle lifting of your coin purse as a child graces you and soon after they take off sprinting. You have been robbed.
The demon woman smiles and raises both eyebrows, her face wrought with mirth. Wordlessly, she removes one hand from the handle of her maul, making arcane gestures under her azure cloak. The child freezes mid-stride as his shadow ceases to follow him, the kid unable to escape, pinned to the earth by some invisible aspect. His eyes grow wide with fear as he squirms and struggles in the crowd, ignored by the grownups as the spastic fumblings of an addled kid. She steps towards him, the throng instinctively parting for her. With a gesture she releases the spell and lifts him by the back of the collar, leaving him dangling. She stretches out her hand, silently asking for her purse back, fixing him with the Stare. Wordlessly, he removes the purse from his belt and places it in her open palm. She drops him, and removes one shiny gold coin from her purse, handing it to the child. "It takes gumption to lift a purse from a woman who could snap you in half like a twig. Now, begone, young one, and find honest work, lest we meet again and I'm not feeling quite so... pleasant."
You’re heading back to the city through the woods when you hear a whining coming from nearby. Upon further investigation you come across a grey-coloured wolf that appears to have its leg caught in a bear trap. Around it is three smaller lumps of fur, obviously puppies belonging to the trapped mother. Without help, they’ll all die, but wolf skins are quite valuable too, not to mention that the nearby farms suffer quite a bit from the wolf population.
Sola stops in the trail, her ears perked to a faint whimpering off the path a small ways. Treading carefully, the woman pokes through the underbrush, coming to a she-wolf, snared in a bear trap, the force of the blow to her leg having broken the bone and left little of the meat unsevered. Mere tendons are all binding the wolf to her constraints. The demon spots the pups as well, whimpering and keening around their snared mother, having little idea of what to do. Sola bends down, staring deeply into the she-wolf's eyes, as if reading her soul, silently judging her. After a moment, the demon stands and hefts her maul, the wolf obediently lowering her head flat to the earth. Sola brushes the puppies away, sparing them the sight as her hammer comes down, crushing the she-wolf's skull with a single blow. The deed done, the demon scoops up the protesting pups in her hood, carrying them deeper into the woods until, at last, she finds unmistakable evidence of recent wolf activity. She gingerly drops the litter into a sheltered bush, whispering, "Regardless of the outcome, you will not be abandoned again today, young ones."
She stands and turns back, heading the way she came, leaving the pups to be discovered, whether by mother or by predator.

Only fill out below if you want your character to have magic capabilities. If you don't fill this out, then your character will be incapable of performing any form of magic. Note that it will take significant[/b] in character practice and experience to become any form of proficient in magic.

_______________________________________________________________________
-Magic Biography; Explain the reason you want your character to have magic through backstory application:
Sometimes gods get bored, or curious, and decide to meddle in the affairs of mortals. Some deity, who will go unnamed, decided to set a woman on a unique and contradictory path, gifting her the race of half-demon and the personality of a kindly martyr. As a demon, Sola has known almost her whole life that she could wield darkness and shadows to her advantage; in fact, if she thinks about it, she cannot remember not knowing of her skills with dark magic, given her race's birthright.
While Sola doesn't care much for many of the nefarious aspects of dark magic, she continues to practice her skills in private for their applications in stealth discretion and detention. Why chase a man down when you can merely pin his shadow to the floor, after all? Through the years she has dreamt up increasingly creative ways to use her magic to protect herself and others, using her limited skills to aid her in all aspects of life, even in her criminal investigations. In the future, Sola hopes to allow her dark magic into the light, to show that she has nothing to hide and that dark magic can actually be incredibly illuminating. To speak with the dead is not a macabre nightmare but a way to interrogate a victim as a witness, manipulating shadow can be used to draw long shadows and conceal evil, or darkness can be drawn back like a curtain to reveal evil or bound, trapping evil in a prison of its own making. At first, her magic may seem like a contradiction of her soul, or an indicator of some hidden maleficence, but to Sola it's an inescapable part of who she is and a reminder that where she came from does not dictate who she is or what she does.
-Please give an example in your own words describing the limitations placed upon those who use magic (This should be at least one well-crafted paragraph):
(Not sure what you're looking for here, so I'm just going to put a small story down.)
The rain pours down in torrents, sheets of frigid water beating down on men lined in rows, barely visible in the downpour. They part ways for a demon-woman clad in black and blue, carrying a casket on one shoulder, a lone pallbearer. Despite the relentless, noisy spattering of the rain, women can be heard weeping and wailing as the demonic figure pads down the aisle towards a grave. The demon drops the casket carefully in front of a yawning hole, and a man in black steps forward to say some words. One distraught woman lurches forward towards the casket, and before anyone can stop her she lifts open the lid, then stumbles back into the mud in horror. The demon picks up the mourner, then closes the coffin, shielding the onlookers from the grisly sight of a withered corpse what looked like its meat had been sucked out with a straw, its face shredded, almost literally, into ground beef. After the rites are conducted, the demon lowers the casket into the earth and a pair of men step forward to cover the grave in dirt. The demon lifts a slab of marble and slams it into the ground by the grave. Inscribed on the slab is this:
"Here Lies Brother Astorus Bellic, Son of Telekinetic Stellus Bellic.
Died By Magical Misadventure."
-Please give a description of the magic system in your own words: With practice, focus, and in most cases an arcane focus, anyone born with the gift and the training can wield magic to create any effect appropriate to their strength, arcane energy, and arcane focus potency.
-You are given a weak trinket of darkness, you haven't had much practice with magic yet, but you will try your best. Describe some things you could/would do with this trinket: Sola would practice with increasingly complex shadow puppets, using the shadows as a way to practice fine-control over shadow manipulation. Given the limitations of her trinket, the most she may be able to do is render her face inscrutable under a hood, conceal a small weapon or trick a guard or pursuer to turn away from her path.

Your flavour text lacks zest. Perhaps you should add some intelligence, hmm?~
Everything seems good! You've properly referenced the war, and what its work would entail! While you had not exactly mentioned it, and while I would rather not make you wait on pending as it's fairly minuscule, Octavius' family farm would be within the Barkamsted peninsula as everything east had become Pact territory, unless his family had left and traveled west to Barkam due to the war. With that aside...
Reading through your backstory, it appears that you haven't mentioned anything about the Pact war, a major event in the history of the server completely skimmed past. It doesn't appear as if you've read the server's lore at all. As well, your RP scenarios were meant to be a paragraph each, in lieu of a single sentence. Something else that I noticed, after a short search, is that your power-gaming and meta definitions are simply copied and pasted from another source, something that I find unacceptable in an application.
I'll be getting in contact with you shortly via PMs as a means of discussing how your character was impacted by the Pact war. As stated in many of my reviews, the war is one of, if not the major event of the world. Every land mass was damaged by the 77-year long war. Aside from the backstory, everything seems fine to me, and I'll be glad to accept the character once that's sorted out! In regards to your magic application, your magic biography is very vague in answering the questions asked. Also, I believe you may have missed the request to describe the magic system in your own words, the second-last question of the magic application. Once those two are fixed, your magic app should be set to go!
For this character application, I'll have to grab my stamp and...

Nothing specifically wrong with the character, except for their race; Half-Demons are only accessible to those with Player+, and must accompany a primary race in their creation (Half-Demon Human, Half-Demon High-Elf, etc). Please rewrite your character application with this race change in mind, and we'll be happy to review!
Thank you for the updates! Having read through it all, and worked out a means of fitting the Pact war, I'm happy to toss this application as a whole into the pile of...
-Do you have any prior roleplay-related experience, if so could you give an example?
I have had prior roleplay-related experience in that years ago I used to roleplay on the Barton Town forums of Gaia Online, only just turning to Minecraft roleplay a few years back. In total, you could say I have got an estimated total of eight to nine years of experience.
-Define Power-gaming in your own words:
Power-gaming is when someone goes over the top to be the best and win everything when it comes to role-playing—such as overriding another character's emote or action. It is when someone tries to role-play a character that does not fit the lore or the plot but instead strives to be the most powerful—and no one likes that. (e.g. Greg wanted revenge on Bonnie's character and confronted said character using stupidly maxed-out, nonexistent abilities he ripped off from Dragonball to overpower her. Bonnie's character, in turn, dodged every single one of his attacks like some pro-gymnast.)
-Define Meta-gaming in your own words:
Meta-gaming is the act of using knowledge about the game or outside information for one's personal gain. Pretty much being able to beat the crap out of anyone by focusing on their weaknesses even though the character has never heard of or encountered that person or thing before. (e.g. Bonnie found out from Greg that his character has a secret loot chest hidden in a grove outside of town. The next day, Bonnie's character goes out and steals the contents within that chest despite not knowing about it ICly.)
-Define Role-Playing in your own words:
Roleplaying is the act of, well, acting. Whether it be online, in a game, or even in real-life, roleplaying is simulating the character and life of said character (such as portraying their emotions to given scenarios and even controlling them to take on obstacles set forth in a given setting).

-Character name:
Evelyna Sariel Aslear
-Character race:
High Elf
-Character gender:
Female
-Character age:
104
-Character Occupation (optional, note you still must talk to the lord about loaning or purchasing any stall/shop for your character if he/she would have one. This more or less helps us to better understand your characters starting skill set):
It would appear that this woman is simply a traveling Writer, or Scholar of some sort, wandering from meager villages to great cities in pursuit of accumulating as much knowledge as possible.
-Character description (At least one to two paragraphs describing your character’s visual appearance.):
Evelyna stands at six foot ten with a healthy slender figure. Her lengthy platinum hair falls in waves past her bare shoulders, holding hints of lavender undertones and ending just past her knees. Various sections and pieces of her tresses are braided or tied at the ends, such as the small twists wrapping around the crown of her head, with the tips of her Elven ears just barely poking out from behind them. Evelyna also has wisps of hair that come loose from her bangs which part in the middle to frame the sides of her face. Whenever she is studying or working, she manages her locks into a single braid that falls over her left shoulder so that it does not interfere with her work.
She was born with soft, almond-shaped, cloudy grey eyes that seem to focus on nothing at all, making her appear seemingly blind. Neither one of her parents graced her with this trait, though. Probably inherited them from a distant aunt or uncle. Her complexion is very pale and glows in a way that makes her seem "vampiresque." Her facial structure is not anything to brag about. Just a simple ski-slope nose, heart-shaped face, feminine jaw-line, and an okay forehead. In addition, her eyelashes are long and full; her plump, pouty lips and cheeks are always a light rosy tint; and she has thick, naturally shaped eyebrows.
Age-wise she appears to be around her early twenties. Evelyna always wears a slightly frilled white shirt with folded-back cuffs and a black corset-like wrap pulled over it that hugs her upper body and barely covers her hips—and matching trousers. She also wears black stockings underneath for extra warmth and dark brown heeled boots.
-Character personality and traits (At least one to two paragraphs describing their personality traits and/or quirks.):
She has a few trust issues due to not knowing how exactly other races act—you can never trust books when it comes to the actual thing. Other than that, she is quite nice to those around her, especially when she gets to know them, and is a strict pacifist, preferring rather to spread the teachings of Udero than to force it down people's throats in order to stop them from fighting. Evelyna's a very sweet girl with only pure thoughts and the wonders of adventure in her eyes. The only times she has acted poorly was when her parents gifted her brother, Silas, an amethyst heirloom artifact—a strong Lightning trinket—she had had her heart set on for decades and was promised it when she came of age.
Evelyna has the ability to identify certain objects and species thanks to her studies at home and her ongoing discoveries on her travels. She does exceptionally well in social situations seeing that she was bred with the necessarily skills to handle such circumstances. She is also carelessly brave and, even if the state of affairs seem dire, will stick things out to the end. But due to her inexperience with danger and untrustworthy characters, she is incredibly naive.
She can also get a little sensitive if poked fun of or at. To her, any race that once sided with the Pact can never be trusted, so she tries her best to steer clear of their people. Sometimes her curiosity can get the better of her and she can be so distracted by something that she has never seen before that she will completely ignore just about everything going on around her, leaving her susceptible to any active dangers and warning signs. She is also surprisingly an incredibly lightweight person when drinking.
-Character biography (At least three paragraphs describing your character's history and experiences):
Responsibilities paired with privilege and a blood-borne obligation to her Minor House, Evelyna was not tasked with the family burden of being the eldest and, therefore, the heir apparent went to her brother, Silas. Even at such a young, impressionable age, her priorities fell in favor of a life of upholding her family’s bloodline and maintaining and serving their noble, high elven heritage, including being brought up as a deferential lady of Silivrenmîr’s lesser known court and honoring their vassalage to House Vodussi. After ten years had passed since her conception, her father—a respected and belligerent Lord Varos the Formidable—arranged for the youngest of his House to wed that of a slightly higher regarded family of lords in the latter, House Vaneer, in order to continue the family’s legacy—much to her consequent chagrin. Both progenies became prodigies of their own prospect as they continued to grow up in a setting of high societal demands, underwent rigorous magical training, and were ingrained with proper etiquette appropriate for that of growing lords and ladies of nobility.
While Silas eventually embraced her father’s affixed involvement in the city's militaristic sect purposed with protecting Silivrenmîr and its people within Manadh Calad, Evelyna took after their mother and studied in the presence of scholars and philosophers alike under the Low Baroness Sylvara’s tutelage. Until she reached the age of maturity and when she was no longer obliged to make social appearances or meet with those seeking an audience with her parents when they were away, she dedicated her time curiously imbibing herself with information from her mother's library and penning her own tall tales spawned from articles of history she read. At times, she would even stay up during the long hours of the night in order to absorb more knowledge and practice her skills. In time fancied herself an aspiring author and impressed even her mother, showing incredible promise and aptitude.
Not too long after she had reached maturity and on a night like many others where she was too awake to rest her head, Evelyna stumbled upon her father and elder brother bidding her mother farewell. Leaving her with kisses atop her head and lingering hugs before stepping out into the middle of the night. The woman waited until her tearful mother left their parlor before hurriedly pulling on her boots and sneaking out. Trailing after them, it was not long before she realized the familiar route they were taking as it had been the very same that would have them arrive at the encampment her father had Silas train at through the years. A multitude of soldiers, complexions ranging from the lightest pigment to the ashiest of soot, were gearing up and marching into their ranks as officers barked commands in all directions. As she approached the entrance, she soon lost sight of her father and brother. She waited around, hoping to catch a glimpse or for any sign of them before finally deciding to return home. Maybe they were merely undergoing a new training regime, she thought to herself as she nestled under her covers and slowly drifted off to sleep.
It was that night that Evelyna dreamt of fire and the shouts of men and beasts unknown to her were heard. Her mother still dressed in her nightgown and robe suddenly appeared over the side of her bed, shaking her awake as she cried that they needed to leave that very instant. The following moments seemed to whirl past at such frightening speeds as she was quickly dressed and gathered a few essentials belongings. No reason was given to her as there was no time at all to explain what the circumstances were. The two were ushered out of the city along with the rest of its population. Men, women, children... It was a mass evacuation. It was at that moment that Evelyna had never been more terrified for her family's life as she took one step out of the gates and the unmistakable cacophonous sound of war cries and metal clashing began to register. Without thinking, Evelyna bolted backwards in the opposite direction of the panicking crowd. Her mother screamed into the night as she did, chasing after her and catching her. The waves of Elves battling against them had not gotten Evelyna all that far. She pled with her mother and fought with all her might against her firm grip, but the two were dragged away by the mass of bodies.
After they had reached Barkamsted and settled down amidst the refugees of the encampment, weeks had past before news arrived of the casualties following that dreadful night. Among the lengthy list of lost lives, the women found the two names they had deeply prayed they would not. Varos and his heir Silas of House Aslear had died in battle at the hands of the Orc invasion. Sylvara was heartbroken, crushed by the death of her only son and lover, and ceased to speak after that day. Evelyna attempted to console her mother, but the damage was too great as not only had they lost their family, but all of their wealth and property thus leaving them with nothing but the clothes on their backs and the few belongings they had managed to collect before the chaos ensued. The name Aslear now meant nothing. Even as they tried their best to begin new lives for themselves in this new place, the anguish was too much for her mother and Sylvara Aslear perished a year later.
It was not to say that Evelyna was not affected by the loss of her family, rather she wanted to overcome this new hurdle. For years she did mourn their deaths, to the point that she had become overwhelmed with depression and would not bother to even write or do the things she usually loved to do. Even after the Pact war had ended and literal Hell had been unleashed upon the realm, the woman wished she had received the same fate as her family. She had even contemplated following the same fate her mother had but never truly managed to follow through. Were it not for a concerned passerby, she would not have been given the advice that lifted her bit by bit out of the dark hole she had been dwelling in. And when she felt ready enough, Evelyna disembarked from Barkamsted and began to travel around with what little money she had left, eventually rediscovering her passion for writing and her pursuit of knowledge.
Unaware at first of the incident, the blonde begins to start forward in the opposite direction of the child. Her hands lower and clasp together in front of her as she strolls along. Only after a few more moments does she realize that something about her walk is off. She begins to pat steadily then desperately at her hips as the absent weight of said coin purse finally dawns upon her. The High Elf whirls around, first searching the ground with her gaze for any sign of the small sack. To no avail, she lets out a quiet whimper as there is nothing to be found. Inhaling deeply, she takes a calming breath as she racks her brain for the last time she had lifted the coin purse off of her person and if- "Oh, dear..." Had the child have something to do with this? She swivels her head around, now seeking out what she barely remembers of the child's appearance and hoping to catch even just a glimpse of them. They were sure to be in for a scolding should she manage to get her hands on them!
Her hands immediately reach up to cover her face. The sight of blood and pain has never been a welcome sight for the High Elf. The woman's mind begins to race as multiple questions arise from viewing the scene, but her first thought had her suddenly spring into action. She scurried over to the mother, kneeling down beside her as she scans the bear trap for a mechanism to unlock it. She had read from her father's hunting texts before so there had to have been something... "Aha!" Evelyna turns around, picking up a nearby branch and starts to jam the limb into the teeth of the trap, mustering every ounce of strength she had as she tried to pry the thing open just enough so it can escape. "Come on, come on!" she says through gasps of breath, attempting to coax the beast out.

I will not accept applications that say “My character got my magic from x, and he wants to use it because it’ll help him! Also for RP!")
Since the time of its founder, Rodhael Aslear, the Aslear family has long bred and produced many children—often through arranged marriages—in hopes and with the belief that they may be bestowed the gift of magic. As such, those who were more fortunate would be offered up as students at the Mage's College, squires, and the like. Though, not many of its members have inherited said gift through blood, a large majority being that of children who have been given away to other families or even to those without the ability to produce offspring.
Evelyna was born as one of these lucky few, having first shown signs of her talent at an incredibly young age when given a toy rattle—a trinket of which the family has used for generations in order to test a child's aptitude, namely for that of Telekinesis—and was able to lift a small quill from a desk. Unbeknownst to her, House Aslear had carefully arranged her father and mother together as they too possessed such gifts. Their efforts were fruitful as Sylvara gave birth to these two mages. Once each had displayed suitable promise, Varos arranged for them to begin their studies with their mother in between their own everyday curriculum.
With her elder brother, Silas was trained so that he may one day be able to improve his accuracy when it came to his archery skills. Evelyna had no such desire to follow in the same steps, so she would benefit from being able to increase her reading load as she maneuvered various texts and would float down novels in her mother's library—along with implementing such magic to assist her in writing once her wrists got tired after several hours. As she continued her studies and watched her brother surpass her in terms of results, she became interested in stories of past mages and the ancients' use of elemental feats. Her piqued curiosity led to her imploring her mother for more lessons on each subject (Alteration, Water, and Lightning) and Sylvara would assure her that once her brother had completed his own studies that she would be next, but the day never came as the Pact War claimed the entirety of her city, her home, and her family.
After she was able to revive her passion for knowledge and writing, she also fostered a newfound aspiration to continue learning other aspects in honor of her mother's memory.
-Please give an example in your own words describing the limitations placed upon those who use magic (This should be at least one well-crafted paragraph):
Arcane energy in the physical realm is limited to those that are gifted with such abilities, such as races that are capable of producing magic versus those that have little to no potential at all. As such, a Dwarf is more capable of performing arcane feats than a Dark Elf of which will never be able to perform magic period. And although a mage is able to preform magic, they must hone their skills through years of practice and study and concentrate their focus when performing a feat. Otherwise, the mage will find it difficult to cast. Furthermore, when controlling several aspects at one time, the mage may be susceptible to increased duress for each field of magic.
Magic can only be performed when the user is in possession of an artifact—or trinket—of which is aligned to a certain aspect. The artifact may break if the magic being attempted is far more powerful than the level at which the trinket is capable of. Magic also can only be performed realistically so that if the physical setting in which it is being done is not ideal, for aspects such as Water or Earth, the feat cannot be completed. What exists may be altered but what does not may not be created. In addition, the level of magic being done with a specific level of a trinket can only reflect such level. A weak leveled trinket may not be able to create feats stronger than its capabilities.
-Please give a description of the magic system in your own words:
The magic in Saphriel revolves around realism and the implementation of artifacts in order to perform arcane feats. It is not that the impossible cannot be done, but rather it can through experience, training, and with the right tools. And with actual races with religions and their own capabilities, only those born with magical abilities should be able to cast it. The limitations set in place are there in order maintain balance between those who possess magic and those that do not. The system in its entirety serves as a cautious guideline to keep something as overpowering as the existence of magic in check.
-You are given a weak trinket of Telekinesis, you haven't had much practice with magic yet, but you will try your best. Describe some things you could/would do with this trinket:
Many of the activities that Evelyna would perform with the trinket would certainly involve assisting her reading and writing. As in the past, the High Elf maneuvered various texts and would float down novels in her mother's library—along with implementing such magic to assist her in writing once her wrists got tired after several hours. She would also use it to cause minor distractions should she or others get caught in a bind—such as nudging an apple or small flower pot off a ledge onto someone's head.
You start with one aspect only. You gain the rest of them (How ever many your race may have) of your own choice through further RP, however you will not be able to attain them immediately.
Hello! Reading through your application, mostly everything seems fine! Though, just to make sure it's known, Evelyna's family name will lack in any more power than that of a common High-Elf. She may attempt raising her status to that of a noble through RP, but until then! Also, a minute detail that must be addressed is her height; 6'2" is far too short for a High-Elf, since they are commonly at the very least 6'10". Due to that, I'll be tossing this onto...
After reading through this application, I've decided that it does not meet our requirements. To start, all cities and villages east of Falkvard would have been taken over by the Pact during the war, which only ended 7-8 years ago ICly. Falkvard had been taken quite early in the war, within the first few years, so I'll have to ask that this is adjusted in your backstory. Another problem, it looks like you haven't read our server's lore; there is no mention of the Pact War whatsoever in the application, an important event in the server's history due to its worldwide impact.
Apologies! I'll be needing the application to be posted directly by the owner of the IGN, lest it is considered null and void. Do take my previous notes in mind from your application, though!
Oh, and that solves that! Moving through the application, I noticed a key problem. As was mentioned in the last (At0m's), there were no villages that far from Barkamsted, especially not east of Falkvard; everything there, this far into the war, had been overrun by the Pact. Cultists, Orcs, Goblins, Trolls, so on and so forth. It was the edges of the core of the opposing force, especially this deep into the war. So, that will have to be reworked.
As well, equal in importance, Whitecliff would be an unavailable point for your character. During the war, Whitecliff was a castle in use by the Pact as a base, so any unaffiliated with them would most likely be slaughtered.
While I can understand enjoying having a character come to an all-new land, and learning the cultures and customs of it, there still needs to be a bit more to the character than a vague backstory that can be copy/pasted onto any server application.
I would like you to include our lore in your application, such as the all-encompassing pact war and the all-encompassing demon invasion of Saphriel. Feel free to ask myself or another staff member any questions you may have, and don't let those big red letters deter you! Thank you for your interest!

-Do you have any prior roleplay-related experience, if so could you give an example? Yes, I have lots of prior knowledge, having been on multiple servers before (Such as Ceres, Myraeon, Solstice and a few other servers!)
-Define Power-gaming in your own words: Powergaming is two things, one being the act of doing something without the other person being able to prevent the consequences of the action. Powergaming can also be having an overpowered character, or a perfect one (also refered to as a Mary-Sue.)
-Define Meta-gaming in your own words: Metagaming is the act of knowing something out of character and using it to your advantage in character when your own character shouldn't even know that information in the first place. One example being, knowing a secret of one character out of character and mentioning it in character even though yours does not know said secret.
-Define Role-Playing in your own words: Roleplaying is interacting between characters you've made in a setting chosen by an owner or moderator. Roleplaying is making a story between these characters and having them be effected by their surroundings or others.
----IC Info----
(When reading the biography's I am fully aware that she doesn't seem to be speaking in first person about their past, but this character usually speaks in a third person manner. Therefor her biography and such are in third person.)
-Character Occupation (optional, note you still must talk to the lord about loaning or purchasing any stall/shop for your character if he/she would have one. This more or less helps us to better understand your characters starting skill set): Ava tends to find, create and sell trinkets or any material she deems sellable. Though she does most of the time find a living off of playing musical instruments for others and having people employ her to entertain others with music and dance.
-Character description (At least one to two paragraphs describing your character’s visual appearance.):
Ava is a slim young woman, standing at 6'7 for now. She has long, flowing platinum blonde hair and soft blue eyes.(Though some would argue her hair to be white and her eyes to be a darker shade of purple.)
She keeps her arms generally uncovered, wearing a nonsleeved grey shirt and having one armed partially covered by a wooden arm plate. Ava's legs are fully covered, bearing dark shaded puffy pants and brown hand-made boots. Her legs are also circled by bands around her upper leg, these bands hold glass tubes and pouches.
Ava always wears gloves wherever she goes, never seeming to be parted with them. She also has freckles spotted down her arm and some faintly on her rosey cheeks.
She has two spots just under her right eye, one bigger than the other. Her mother found it to be soothing to paint others skin, along with her own. She found herself doing the same later after she had lost her mother. She tended to only poke small dots under her eyes though, never being able to do anything too extravagent on her skin without the aid of someone else or a mirror.
Ava has a key tied up around her hair, leaving the blonde strands in an almost ponytail-like fashion. This key was the former key to her old home, she keeps it close. Along with this trinket she also wears an eyeglass holder necklace, belonging to her grandfather. She does also have his glasses, but due to the fact she has no need to wear them, she doesn't take them along with her anywhere.
Out of everything, the one thing that stands out the most is her tattered lilac scarf. She had made it herself when she was very young, her father having taught her instead of her mother. It holds a special place in her heart and she is often seen holding it so it doesn't catch onto anything, this has become a habit of hers.
-Character personality and traits (At least one to two paragraphs describing their personality traits and/or quirks.):
Ava is a very quirky person, often doing things many others might not. (Including talking in third person, which others do generally find very strange in itself.) Despite this, she is a very intelligent debate partner. She is amiable and soft, being best described as gentle and easily frightened.
She finds herself most nervous around crowds, a fear of some sort for her. More out of not knowing what to say, rather than being frightened of the actual people around her. Ava is still very childlike in her own sense, being accustomed to having some things being done for her or being told off for doing something wrong, even if that something was little. She's also a little dreamy, with her head far in the clouds at some moments.
She also enjoys teaching others and story telling, though her teaching skills need some work. Her story telling is more repeating what stories she's heard, this can also be seen as spreading around rumours. She does enjoy the reactions she gets out of people when she does tell these stories, however.
Ava does take most things she's talked to about into consideration, sometimes a bit too much. She does tend to be emotional at some points if she starts assuming things. That, and Ava often distances herself away from others, sometimes coming off as cold when she bites back at others harshness. She tends to not give others more chances than she should. Quick judgement, thinking that they're going to cause her harm even if they really aren't.
She's the kind of person to always play it safe, though she does become curious every once a while. She'd make up excuses to do certain things, perhaps her most used one though is 'Ava needs to find more material for her story telling!' She is very, very careful when there is any matter concerning love or falling in love because of things that have happened in the past unfortunately.
-Character biography (At least three paragraphs describing your character's history and experiences):
Ava originally was born into a small household, including her mother and grandfather. When she very young, her father had gone off to gain more materials for their home but eventually never returned. He had left behind a bird he used to take care of, which gave Ava the opportunity to care for it while he was out. Unfortunately, he never even came back for even the owl.
Due to the war being strong during this time, they had decided to live much further from an any society. Her family decided to pull her away and run from the war and into the forest, with no distractions she learned many things, including how to use many instruments, which at the time were her favourite pass times. However, she grew more oblivious to the war than many others.
Ava's grandfather eventually finished the house, despite her fathers absence, taking a toll on the old mans wellbeing. Her mother often had to go into town to get more supplies for the three of them, such as food, water and other things to keep them all occupied and safe.
While her grandfather was building a tree house for his granddaughter, Ava, he had fallen off the edge of the high tree and not survived the fall. Which left her mother to mourn, she eventually did not leave the house and had sent Ava to instead.
Having never gone into town before, she was frightened of course. But she was curious about what was going to happen, who she'd see, what she'd see.
When she spoke to others, she often muddled up her words, stumbling on what to say due to not having much practice speaking to strangers at all.
She often confused others as well, so she had to speak slowly for a while. Her voice is still soft even now, hardly speaking up.
She tends to be flustered easily because of this too, especially when others decide to mention it.
Ava grew fond of going out into town, meeting others. The only sad thing for her was that she'd have to leave it behind many constantly to take care of her mother.
One day, she'd met this boy. He was around her age, intelligent, quick-witted, handsome. She thought very highly of him, she'd go and see him all the time in the town. She slowly fell in love with him, however, the same couldn't be said for him.
Eventually, it almost grew as an obsession for her. He'd led her to believe he did love her, as a way not to harm her. He left however, without her knowledge.
She kept visiting the town and kept trying to look for him, neglecting her mother and responsibilities.
Ava was heart-broken when she found out he had left her behind, but was even more so when she had found her mother had left the house behind entirely. Had she been gone that long?
She became overwhelmed with the amount of guilt that weighed heavily on her shoulders. Ava believed it was her own fault that both the boy, her grandfather and her had left her behind.
So, she continued making trips into the town, though she would never stop to speak to people. Not unless they'd stop and comment on her small shows she'd have, playing instruments for little amounts of money.
Ava had to work even harder as she lost much of the supplies her family had kept in their home, sometimes having to stay in the town overnight to have more shows in local taverns. She also used to do shows showing off her families owl, or well, her owl now to those whom have never seen an owl up close.
This life didn't suit her in the very least, moving around too frequently for her liking.
There wasn't much of anything Ava could do however. She was still very young with not enough money to maintain the house she was living in, along with all the horrible memories that came with it.
She took what little money she had left and had a carriage built for her belongings and travel. (She also had bought a horse to pull along her carriage.)
She has now arrived here.
Ava would turn quickly, her body and shoulders tensing.
"H-Hey!.. Come b-back!" She stumbles with her words, calling out to the child.
After seeing the child definitely not stopping, she gives a brief, agitated sigh and goes to run after them. Her boots tap on the ground and she holds her scarf close to her front.
"Please- C-Come back!" She'd find herself slowly catching up to the child, having longer running strides then the child does.
Ava huffs and goes to sharply turn in front of the child, having them bump into her. They look up at her, clutching the purse with wide eyes.
The child goes to run into the opposite direction, but before they could Ava wrapped her arms around them. She picked them up slowly.
Ava'd be uncomfortable doing this, typically because it's a bit hard for her to pick someone up. Of course, the child struggled.
"SHh- Please! Stop- A-Ava isn't g-going to hurt you!.." She'd try and comfort the child into ceasing struggling, eventually they do and run out of energy from waving their arms and legs about.
"D-Did you want money?.." She'd ask an obvious question to the child, they nod back quickly and keep the purse close to their chest.
Ava is holding them far from her face, dangling them a bit in the air.
"Y-You.. you can have.. uhmmm.. Some of A-Ava's money. Not all th-though!.. Ava needs some too.."
They stare at her for a moment with narrowed eyes, they slowly hand her the purse.
She bites onto it and puts the child down, then taking the purse out of her mouth and opening it cautiously. She gives them half of what she has, deciding that's fair enough.
They exchange smiles and go their opposite ways, though Ava is sure to keep an eye on her surroundings more thoroughly next time.
Ava would eye the situation carefully, her fiddling with the fabric of her shirt.
She'd gulp, moving her gaze between the four, "Mmm-Why.. is th-there a bear trap here? A-Ava hopes this wasn't the wanted result.."
She'd stare at them, moving between the urge to free them and the want to leave them for dead because of what she'd heard about the local farming areas.
Ava would look to the small lumps of fur with softened eyes, she wouldn't be able to keep the death of these four on her concious. She bites her lip, moving closer.
The mother'd emmit a low growl to Ava, bearing her teeth in a threatening manner, "A-Ava knows wolf is frightened- but.. but l-let me help, mm?"
The wolf quite obviously doesn't understand Ava, staying with flattened ears.
She hears people talking and thudding footsteps nearby, her breath hitches and she forgets about freeing the mother entirely.
Ava quickly goes to scoop up the young pups, ignoring the mothers constant and almost desperate whining and growling.
While Ava rushes out of the area, zipping through the forestation, she hurriedly takes off her lilac scarf and goes to wrap it around the three pups. She keeps them together.
Oh boy, she'd have to find some way to take care of these pups and keep them alive. Either that, or she'd have to give them to some one else to care for.

Only fill out below if you want your character to have magic capabilities. If you don't fill this out, then your character will be incapable of performing any form of magic. Note that it will take significant in character practice and experience to become any form of proficient in magic.

-Magic Biography; Explain the reason you want your character to have magic through backstory application: (At least three extremely well-crafted paragraphs. You must describe to us why your character can use magic, what drives him to further his ability, how he learned that he could use magic, and what benefits magic brings to this character, what type of magic they’ll strive to use, etc. This is not a middle school paper! I will not accept applications that say “My character got my magic from x, and he wants to use it because it’ll help him! Also for RP!")
Ava had magic capabilities passed down to her through her family as the gift. She was taught much about magic as a young girl, history, stories and all the general things about magic by her father and grandfather.
She already understands and believes fully what magic is to her, to her it is a type of art! Like her music and paintings, thus she'd use it more for the benefit of others rather than her own entertainment. She'd be driven by the fact she'd rather entertain others rather than herself and she thinks it would greatly benefit those around her if they truely need her.
Ava would preferably strive more toward magic that is beneficial to others, however she does find more interest in ice magic and illusionary magic. She finds she could use this to her advantage when entertaining or even tricking others when she is in need of an escape of some kind. Other than those two reasons, she would also enjoy these aspects of magic due to magic itself being a form of art to her.
Ava finds magic beautiful, regardless of the kind of magic.
-Please give an example in your own words describing the limitations placed upon those who use magic (This should be at least one well-crafted paragraph):
Other characters without magic cannot start simply learning how to use magic, but rather have to have been born with the gift of it. A user of magic also has many limitations, not being able to use any of their ability unless granted with a trinket or something similar to have their magic go through. These trinkets have their own limitations, only being able to take certain amounts of magic going through them before they break.
And depending on the kind of magic, it may also take mental strength as well as magical strength. Magical strength does too grow the more the user practices and uses their magic.
If the user of magic exceeds their limitations, it can harm them a lot. It could even be deadly.
-Please give a description of the magic system in your own words:
The magic system revolves around many kinds of magic, though it is limited more to certain races, some races better at it then others.
Magic is acient and has a long history, this history tells us that magic was much more powerful in the hands of the past rather than what is here today.
(Also including this explaination with what I had said with the limitations.)
-You are given a weak trinket of ice, you haven't had much practice with magic yet, but you will try your best. Describe some things you could/would do with this trinket:
Ava would stare at spinning the bowl of water infront of her for a moment, turning the trinket around in her hand with slight anxiety. Her head fuzzes a bit as she remembers things she had been taught from a young age.
She grips the trinket tightly in her hand, shutting her eyes and furrowing her brow as she goes to concentrate.
The bowl still spins. She slowly opens her eyes.
The wind in her carriage chimes the metal pieces hanging along the ceiling with thin strings.
She grips releases the trinket momentarily from her grip, but then she grips it again and smiles, gently dragging her finger along the rim of the spinning bowl of water. She then dips her finger into it, the spinning slows down a bit after time. Yet she notices herself that the water temperature has changed, it has gone noticeably colder.
A smile paints itself on her face.
You start with one aspect only. You gain the rest of them (How ever many your race may have) of your own choice through further RP, however you will not be able to attain them immediately.
Apologies for the wait! Your application covers a lot of the basics, but by reading through the backstory the details of the war and her elven heritage are not truly expressed. The Pact War, one that lasted around seventy years, would have had a heavier impact on a lot of lives, but it only has a vague impact on her life. What town would her family often travel to? Near the end of the war, Barkamsted became the only safe haven for refugees, and if this were the town they would travel to every time, it is likely a very dangerous trip over if the treehouse was located far. I would like you explicate on more of the backstory, incorporating more mention of the server's lore and how it all effects the character. For what I mean on elven heritage, there's little history on the 'Strange' family (which itself is an odd family name for an elf and could use some further explanation), such as if they used to live in the elven city before fleeing (which would have fallen a few years before Ava was born) or resided in Barkamsted's elven district initially. Ava's height at her age which very closely nears official adulthood would also tend more towards the range of 6'10" to 7'2", as is the norm with all elves.
As well as this, starting off your character will not have access to the owl, carriage, or horses she purchased to go over to town and begin her story.
In the case of her magic biography, that is...
Pending
The paragraphs you've written are a tad short, as the application requires at minimum three well-crafted paragraphs. One thing I might suggest is going into a story of her experiences with magic, how her grandfather and father might have taught her all that she would know. Perhaps even a single session of practice as a young girl. Get creative with it and don't only use my recommendations! Really expound on why Ava should have magic and her understandings.
For the rest of the definitions, I would say they're pretty solid on their own, so no changes need be made on those. Though do keep in mind each race has its own limits for how many aspects a mage may advance past medium in.

-Do you have any prior roleplay-related experience, if so could you give an example Solstice RP, LOTC, Ceres, and Flare heroes.
-Define Power-gaming in your own words:
Power gaming is essentially acting as a God in Rp. An example of Power gaming would be
Edward fires an arrow off at Bob's head
Bob brushes it off because he happens to have a head made out of metal
Basically power gaming is acting invincible or unbeatable in combat RP.
-Define Meta-gaming in your own words:
Meta gaming is the act of taking any information gained OOC (Out of character) and using it in any IC (In character) situations.
An example would be:
Kelsie heard OOC that Bob and Edward were planning a raid on the castle, so she immediately gets on and starts warning everyone of the attack IC even though her character would not have any possible way of knowing that the attack was coming.
-Define Role-Playing in your own words:
Role playing is acting in another character's or role's shoes, living as them for a short period of time. They can be the complete opposite of you personality wise or even the same. With Roleplay you can act or be anything or anyone you choose. The other half of roleplay is getting to know other people through their characters, as well as having fun as a group.

-Character name: Ravondir Illsmith
-Character race: Half-Elf
-Character gender: Male
-Character age: 34
-Character Occupation (optional, note you still must talk to the lord about loaning or purchasing any stall/shop for your character if he/she would have one. This more or less helps us to better understand your characters starting skill set): Town Guard / Hunter
-Character description (At least one to two paragraphs describing your character’s visual appearance.):
Ravondir Illsmith is moderately tall, though just a bit under the average height of a human. He only stands at around 180 centimeters, his figure lean figure built of equally lean muscle and tanned, darkened skin. The eyes of Ravondir have a warm brown glow to them, his hair a even darker shade of brown than his skin. A kind expression always rests on his face, very rarely erupting in an annoyed or angered fashion.
-Character personality and traits (At least one to two paragraphs describing their personality traits and/or quirks.):
Ravondir for the most part is very relaxed about most situations, sometimes even a little bit too much. He rarely gets angry, his fury usually erupting in a very explosive fashion when he does however. Though he is a hard worker, he tends not to show it to the public eye as he is usually seen resting underneath the closest tree he can find. The nature is very important to Ravondir, this trait owing to the fact he has lived in it for a majority of his life.He tends to also not pry into people's affairs too much other, often lending a lazy remark or response to people closing themselves off to him. Despite this, he is always willing to offer a helping hand or an ear to people who ask that of him. A few quirks that the ranger may seem to have is the habit of his left ear twitching whenever he told a lie, his hand reaching up to rub the back of his head whenever he felt nervous or unsure about something.
-Character biography (At least three paragraphs describing your character's history and experiences):
Growing up, Ravondir Illsmith was fortunate not to have faced the usual racism or hatred from the high elves. Having been born in the city of Silivrenmîr, he was birthed from a human father and a high-elven mother. Due to the danger of their child being ostracized society however, the parents both fled the city and lived in a human settlement. For a time up until he reached the age of 15, he lived a peaceful life.
During that time he lived a rather mundane and normal life. He was taught how to wield a sword by his father, went on excursions in the forest with the few friends he had made, and was lulled to sleep every night by his mother's singing. When it grew time, he was sent off into the town's guard alongside his father to give him a taste of what real work was. Despite how it seemed Ravondir would live a rather normal existence, fate had an obstacle for him to overcome.
Ravondir burst out of the house, having just had an argument with his father over taking the night shift for the guard. Feeling as if he was being treated as a child even in the guard, Ravondir wanted to prove himself by watching over the town at night. Due to his inability to stay awake however, he fell asleep long before his substitute could make it up the tower. A band of thieves, having waited for this opportunity, struck the town with arrows and fire. Although Ravondir was able to escape... he was unable to save to his family. Wracked with guilt over his prideful nature back then, he vowed to change himself as to not let such an event happen again.
-Please give us a short RP response to these two scenarios. (At least one paragraph for each): You’re walking around the markets at around noon. Suddenly you feel a gentle lifting of your coin purse as a child graces you and soon after they take off sprinting. You have been robbed.
"...Guess I'm going to be late for my shift again..."
Ravondir would sigh before taking off in spring after the child, dodging the market goers, though ran by with less ease than the thief he was in pursuit of.
After making a left right down an alleyway, the young thief would be cornered against the wall.
"G-Get back, I-I'm armed... I'm warning you!"
Ravondir backed up slightly at the child's threat, though he sighed in relief when he soon discovered it was simply a bluff.
"...Little one, I do not wish to cause anymore trouble... may I have my wallet back?'
The child pauses, seemingly contemplating either running past him or giving it back.
Before the thief had any chance to act however, Ravondir would be right in front of him, his form somewhat intimidating to the child.
"P-Please... I need this money f-for... food sir..."
A feeling of sadness would overcome the adventurer as he snatched the wallet back.
Feeling quite guilty despite not committing any crimes, Ravondir would take out a few coins and kneel down before handing them to the child.
"... What is your name little one?"
The child seems to be blinking away tears as he takes the coins
"... Edward."
"I want you to stop stealing. If... you need food, just ask for me okay? Ravondir."
The child nods hurriedly, a smile on his face.
"S-Sure thing Mr. Ravondir!"
Just like that, the child would have ran off, but not before turning back to wave at the young man before disappearing behind the corner.
"... I really need to stop giving out money like that... I might just end up as poor as him if I don't..."
He would snort out a laugh before getting up to get back home for the night.
You’re heading back to the city through the woods when you hear a whining coming from nearby. Around it is three smaller lumps of fur, obviously puppies belonging to the trapped mother. Without help, they’ll all die, but wolf skins are quite valuable too, not to mention that the nearby farms suffer quite a bit from the wolf population.
Ravondir would groan as he saw the wolves, knowing fully well about the problems the nearby farms had been experiencing due to these wolves.
"What to do... what to do..."
He would mutter to himself as he looked around for any people walking the same path he did.
Once he confirmed there was no one around, he would kneel down towards the bear trap and begin working on getting the wolf out.
"If the Farmer's guild heard about this..."
Ravondir's complaining would be cut short however as he sprung the wolf out of the trap, a whine of relief and slight pain coming from the animal.
"Okay... okay now hold still..."
A length of cloth would be produced from Ravondir's knapsack, a knife following soon after to cut just the right amount to act as a bandage.
Once done with the makeshift medical care, the young man would get up and stare down at the wolf.
"Go on now... I don't want any more trouble."
And just like that, the wolf would have scampered off painfully with the rest of her puppies.
"... if this ever got out, I'd probably get fired from the guard..."
Ravondir would once again shake his head, giving off a small laugh before heading off on his way.

Maybe due to luck or his heritage, Ravondir had a natural ability to wield magic. This was discovered one day whilst he was playing with a rather ornate necklace that his mother always wore, though he had never found out why. As soon as his hands touched the artifact, he felt energy course through his finger tips and into gem of the necklace. Intrigued by the feeling, he turned it over once, then twice in his hands. He felt something draw him to the object, though he did not know what. Before he could think of it what it was, he was interrupted by his mother calling for his help. Startled, he let go of the necklace, and with it, the flow of power ceased as well.
From that day Ravondir would sneak into his parent's room and play around with the artifact, contemplating on why he was so drawn to it. He would ask his mother, who would simply state that it was a family heirloom, then ask him if he was done with his chores around the house. His father was the same, though his eyes seemed to shine with worry as he told Ravondir to go do something else with his time. Whatever the case, Ravondir soon gave up asking his parents and simply experimented around with it, hoping to find the answer that seemed to be on the tip of his tongue.
Years past, but Ravondir was no closer to finding out the truth. As he felt himself drifting off to sleep the few hours before his town was attacked, he had one thought one his mind; the necklace. A dream had come to him during his slumber, pillars of fire swirled around him, then around the one object that had caused him years of pondering. The dream ended when he reached out for it, the sounds of terrified screams and the sounds of arrows flying awakening him. Every since then, he has been searching for two things. The connection he had to his mother's necklace... and the meaning of the fire.
- Please give an example in your own words describing the limitations placed upon those who use magic (This should be at least one well-crafted paragraph):
The limitations placed on a caster of magic is determined by the artifact he/she is using and the skill they have in that aspect of magic. If a person with a 'Divine' level in water magic attempted to use a weak trinket, he/she would be unable to perform their most powerful spells in fear of breaking the artifact. Likewise, if a person who was a novice but used a very powerful trinket attempted to do something insane such as form a tsunami, he/she would still be unable to do it. This also includes the type of trinket used. If a mage proficient in the elemental magic of fire used a staff meant for water, it would not be effective. Other limitations include the added difficulty of spell-casting during the heat of battle, as well as causing more strain on the user if they cast more than one aspect at the same time. The final limitation is that a mage can only create magical constructs when he/she can actually see where they are doing it.
-Please give a description of the magic system in your own words: -You are given a weak trinket of , you haven't had much practice with magic yet, but you will try your best. Describe some things you could/would do with this trinket: You start with one aspect only. You gain the rest of them (How ever many your race may have) of your own choice through further RP, however you will not be able to attain them immediately.
Ravondir would regard the ring curiously, feeling the same feeling of power flowing through him to his mother's necklace as he did with the ring.
"Wouldn't hurt to give a try I guess..."
He would slip it on his index, feeling a small amount of warmth wash over him as it fit snugly in place.
Thoughts of the eerie glow of fire rolled through his mind as if something else was telling him what to do.
Following the flow of thoughts, he closed his eyes shut as he imagined small embers forming in front of him.
A few sparks would fly out from a few inches in front of him, then a small but vibrant ember.
While rather weak in nature, it would be warm and welcoming like the light of a lamp.
Almost as soon as it was conjured however, it would disappear slowly.
Ravondir would kneel down, feeling quite exhausted despite only have created a small flame.
"... Wouldn't... hurt... right?"
The half-elf would sigh before getting up, attempting to create the flame again.
Sorry for the wait! Unfortunately, there's a lot of stuff a bit wrong with this app -- plot holes, things that could simply be expanded upon, etc.
First and foremost, I'd like you to correct and expand your definition of "meta-gaming". That alone is simply unacceptable. Do feel free to look upon past accepted applications for an idea of what we mean by meta!
Onto the character proper; there's a lot that doesn't quite add up, or that you haven't given enough detail on to give me a full picture.
To start, how was it even found out that the child was an Ash Elf? Your description has him being extremely Dark Elven in appearance, down to extremely dark skin, red eyes, and lack of magic. As a matter of fact, for the skin colour, I'd like you to lighten the tone; Ash Elves are universally meant to be paler than Dark Elves. Feel free to keep the eye colour the same, that's fine.
Onto the whole chaos that followed his birth, what all forced him out of home, money, etc? Robbery, unemployment, whatever? I'd also like you to expand upon how the Pact War affected his life; you've a small mention, but that late into the war, there were very, very few safe settlements left, and all would have eventually been swallowed. Silvrenmir itself fell nearly 3 decades ago, which is where the majority of elven culture was located.
I would also like you to expand upon his caretaker, the relationship he had with her, how he lived under her care, etc.
A few final notes, though there was (mostly) not enough here to put on pending; Elven children tend to mature slower than human children. An Ash Elf of 8 would be roughly equivalent of a 5 year old human child. Such a child overpowering a wolf would be, well, impossible. As well, Ash Elves are not disease immune, but rather disease resistant; it's still fully feasible that his new caretaker would have died from a disease he didn't catch.
Feel free to bump when you've corrected the mistakes!
Right then! The Magic application shows an excellent amount of knowledge for our systems. Nothing wrong there.
However, the backstory application is unacceptable. You made no mention to our lore save small mention of Silvrenmir (yet accurate, for indeed a half-elf would likely be murderstabbed). However, you made no mention of the all encompassing pact and demon wars that ravaged the land, razing everything to the ground and making life generally rather unlivable until near the last two years, where only Barkamsted was safe.
I would like you to expand upon those things and tell me how they affected your character, his family, and life growing up, thank you!

Okay, will fix up my character backstory. Thanks for replying so soon, and sorry for not seeing this sooner!
At this point, if you want, you can skip Alivan having magic and I'll whitelist you and you can start playing. If you'd like him to have his magic, we can hold off, but the limits section does need to be expanded. If you like, I'll happily explain all I can about Ash Elves and their magic, if you have any questions. Feel free to add me on skype, tgaugir16.

-Do you have any prior roleplay-related experience, if so could you give an example Solstice RP, LOTC, Ceres, and Flare heroes.
-Define Power-gaming in your own words:
Power gaming is essentially acting as a God in Rp. An example of Power gaming would be
Edward fires an arrow off at Bob's head[/i]
Bob brushes it off because he happens to have a head made out of metal[/i]
Basically power gaming is acting invincible or unbeatable in combat RP.
-Define Meta-gaming in your own words:
Meta gaming is the act of taking any information gained OOC (Out of character) and using it in any IC (In character) situations.
An example would be:
Kelsie heard OOC that Bob and Edward were planning a raid on the castle, so she immediately gets on and starts warning everyone of the attack IC even though her character would not have any possible way of knowing that the attack was coming.[/i]
-Define Role-Playing in your own words:
Role playing is acting in another character's or role's shoes, living as them for a short period of time. They can be the complete opposite of you personality wise or even the same. With Roleplay you can act or be anything or anyone you choose. The other half of roleplay is getting to know other people through their characters, as well as having fun as a group.

-Character name: Ravondir Illsmith
-Character race: Half-Elf
-Character gender: Male
-Character age: 34
-Character Occupation (optional, note you still must talk to the lord about loaning or purchasing any stall/shop for your character if he/she would have one. This more or less helps us to better understand your characters starting skill set): Town Guard / Mercenary
-Character description (At least one to two paragraphs describing your character’s visual appearance.):
Ravondir Illsmith is moderately tall, though just a bit under the average height of a human. He only stands at around 180 centimeters, his figure built of lean muscle and tanned, darkened skin. The eyes of Ravondir have a warm brown glow to them, his hair a even darker shade of brown than his skin. A kind and somewhat sleepy expression always rests on his face, very rarely erupting in an annoyed or angered fashion.
The nature is very important to Ravondir, this trait owing to the fact he has lived in it for a majority of his life. He tends to also not pry into people's affairs too much other, often lending a lazy remark or response to people closing themselves off to him. Despite this, he is always willing to offer a helping hand or an ear to people who ask that of him.
Quirks:
-Character biography (At least three paragraphs describing your character's history and experiences):
Growing up, Ravondir Illsmith was fortunate not to have faced the usual racism or hatred from the high elves. Having been born in the city of Silivrenmîr, he was birthed from a human father and a high-elven mother. Due to the danger of their child being ostracized society however, the pair left to live in a human settlement. For a time up until he reached the age of 15, he lived a peaceful life.
During that time his father, while a strict and overbearing teacher, had successfully taught his son how to wield a sword and shield. From his mother he learned the art of sewing and cooking, even doing so in his free time to this day. Nonetheless, this rather peaceful life would come to an abrupt end when he joined the town guard at the behest of his father, who felt that the boy had matured enough to help protect the town. Despite Ravondir's best efforts however, his inexperience and naivety made it hard for him to be an effective guard.
The Pact forces eventually made it to the settlement, having left behind a plethora of destroyed villages in their wake. Ravondir, along with the other young trainees, were kept in the dark about this as they were stationed in the safest place from the fight to come; the watch tower. When the Pact army arrived they were met with a highly spirited but outnumbered force of warriors. Unfortunately for Ravondir, the opposing army had planned that archers would be stationed in the watch tower to provide aerial support, using a catapult to shoot it down.
When he had come to, most of the fighting had ceased. Whatever remained of the town was left in embers and ruins, many of the once luscious trees and green fields gone. Without knowledge of where his parents had gone nor what had occurred to his fellow trainees, Ravondir had no choice but to travel onward to Barkamsted, the only known safe haven from the Pact. Armed with only a simple sword and shield, the boy arrived to Barkamsted in hopes of finding his parents as well as what had happened to his village.
-Please give us a short RP response to these two scenarios. (At least one paragraph for each): You’re walking around the markets at around noon. There’s a lot of people around you, still gathering their items as they prepare to shut down their many stands. Suddenly you feel a gentle lifting of your coin purse as a child graces you and soon after they take off sprinting. You have been robbed.

-Magic Biography; Explain the reason you want your character to have magic through backstory application:
(At least three extremely well-crafted paragraphs.
As he was knocked out during the fight for his town, one thought had stayed with him; the necklace. A dream had come to him during his slumber, pillars of fire swirled around him, then around the one object that had caused him years of pondering. The dream ended when he reached out for it, the sounds of terrified screams and the sounds of arrows flying awakening him. Ever since then, he has been searching for two things.

-Character race:
TieflingHalf-demon-Character gender: Female
Now, begone, young one, and find honest work, lest we meet again and I'm not feeling quite so... pleasant."

While Sola doesn't care much for many of the nefarious aspects of dark magic, she continues to practice her skills in private for their applications in
stealthdiscretion and detention. At first, her magic may seem like a contradiction of her soul, or an indicator of some hidden maleficence, but to Sola it's an inescapable part of who she is and a reminder that where she came from does not dictate who she is or what she does.-Please give an example in your own words describing the limitations placed upon those who use magic (This should be at least one well-crafted paragraph):

I'll be tossing this application as...
?Pending?
!Denied!

----IC INFO----
-Character name:

Please poke me once edits have been made!
?Pending?
Once you have finished edits, poke me!
Apologies! I'll be needing the application to be posted directly by the owner of the IGN, lest it is considered null and void. Do take my previous notes in mind from your application, though!
.Null.

Poke me once edits have been made, please!
Okay.
But I can't get Guts' sword on other servers.

Welcome to Saphriel, and enjoy your stay!

(When reading the biography's I am fully aware that she doesn't seem to be speaking in first person about their past, but this character usually speaks in a third person manner. Therefor her biography and such are in third person.)
-Character name: Ava Strange
-Character race: High-Elf
-Character gender: Female
-Character age: 29
You’re heading back to the city through the woods when you hear a whining coming from nearby. Upon further investigation you come across a grey-coloured wolf that appears to have its leg caught in a bear trap. Without help, they’ll all die, but wolf skins are quite valuable too, not to mention that the nearby farms suffer quite a bit from the wolf population.

Thank you for all the necessary edits! Everything seems to line up well with our lore, so I'll be happy to grab my stamp and...
!Accepted!

There’s a lot of people around you, still gathering their items as they prepare to shut down their many stands. Suddenly you feel a gentle lifting of your coin purse as a child graces you and soon after they take off sprinting. You have been robbed.
Upon further investigation you come across a grey-coloured wolf that appears to have its leg caught in a bear trap. Around it is three smaller lumps of fur, obviously puppies belonging to the trapped mother.

Character application is Denied
Magic application is Accepted!
The character biography is Accepted!
However, the Magic app is Pending
At this point, if you want, you can skip Alivan having magic and I'll whitelist you and you can start playing. If you'd like him to have his magic, we can hold off, but the limits section does need to be expanded. If you like, I'll happily explain all I can about Ash Elves and their magic, if you have any questions. Feel free to add me on skype, tgaugir16.

-Magic Biography; Explain the reason you want your character to have magic through backstory application:
(At least three extremely well-crafted paragraphs.
Updated biography. Hopefully it is good enough to pass this time!
