Character Name- Abner Hurst
Character Race- Human
Character Age- Abner appears to be about twenty eight, although his age usually doesn’t come up in conversation all that frequently.
Backstory Summary (at least 1 paragraph with acceptable spelling and clear thinking displayed)-
Born to a young couple in a hamlet far from any major villages, Abner Hurst was always a quiet child. He always did his chores, mostly, and when the occasion arose he would play war with the other boys, running about with small wooden swords in an attempt claim portions of the hamlet for themselves. His heart was never in it though, the other children were far too loud for him and always expected far more effort than he was willing to give during their mock wars. By the time he was thirteen he had taken to lounging about the house, buried deep within some fantasy deep within his mind. Whenever he was kicked out by his parents to go play he would find his way to one of the paddocks housing sheep. It was there that he could truly be left alone, the overwhelming sheep smell drove away most of his peers.
One day, on his way back home from his favorite paddock, Abner found quite the spectacle. A travelling performer had stumbled upon the hamlet and was entertaining the locals with cheap magical tricks. A spark here, a dash of colored smoke there, and the man was guaranteed a room to stay in overnight. This was Abner’s first experience with magic, and he was astounded. To think that there was a way to do things without actually doing them… Oh what a life a wizard must have. For the first time in his life, Abner felt almost motivated. Not quite, but almost. As soon as night began to fall he snuck out of his room, snuck past his sleeping parents, and straight out of his home. He quietly made his way to home in which the wizard was staying, and after making absolutely certain that no one was watching, began to tap quietly on the window. After roughly ten minutes of tapping Abner was greeted by an exhausted wizard who seemed rather unamused by Abner’s antics. He was finally let in after another ten minutes of tapping on the window and staring at the wizard rather earnestly. Once inside he found the wizard to be far more amiable than he had previously thought and managed to strike up a half decent conversation about the basics of magic. Abner surely wouldn’t be able to learn anything in the short amount of time before the wizard left town tomorrow, but finding out how to learn was almost as valuable as learning itself.
Over the years Abner hoarded every snippet of information he could on the topic of magic, and on his nineteenth birthday he donned a poorly made cloak and hat that he had made for himself and set off into the world, determined to turn magic into the meal ticket he so eagerly desired. By the time he was twenty-four Abner found himself at what he deemed to be an adequate level of power. Not so weak that he couldn’t do anything of use, but also not strong enough where anyone would pester him. Oh, for a few months life was ideal. In fact, for a while he thought he could live out the rest of his life wandering through the forests of Metus. Unfortunately, this was not the case.
After only his fifth stop in only a single day Abner heard a rustling in a bush beside him. He paid it no heed, after all, what was the worst a bush could do? Apparently, many things, if the bush happened to house a hungry Immorti within it. Almost as quickly as Abner turned away from the bush, what seemed to be a pale and gaunt girl with silver hair leapt forth from her hiding place, snarling like a hound and determined to do him great harm. Abner, although generally slow to act, spun around with speed uncharacteristic of him, powered by adrenaline and the fierce belief that dying would involve a monumental amount of effort on his part. Drawing upon his knowledge of spellcraft he quickly conjured up a blinding light to distract the Immorti, and a moment later cast a spell of pacification. Should it work he would no longer be in imminent danger of being eaten, but keeping the spell active would require almost all of his magical strength. Gone were Abner’s days of flashy spells. At the very best he’d be able to manage minor feats of magic, automating a broomstick, levitating a mug, the simple things that any apprentice should be able to do. Still, in return for the better part of his magic he gained something he had never had before, a companion. After explaining everything with a sh*t eating grin to the Immorti, who he would later come to know as Claudia (although for the first few weeks she insisted he refer to her by her full name, Claudia Randshardt III Of Windamyre) he found himself with a new goal. To settle down, and more importantly, have Claudia do all of his work for him.
What McMMO skills (1 gathering, 1 combat limit) would you prefer?-
Ideally I would choose fishing and alchemy, seeing as those skills fit Abner’s personality best. Unfortunately, I understand if you absolutely require one gathering and one combat rather than a gathering and a miscellaneous, so if I have to I’d appreciate unarmed.
Roleplay Example-
You walk into the Wandering Lance Inn, hoping that there may be a room enough for another world weary traveller. As you enter the common room, you see that there are only 6 people including the inkeep behind a long table.
4 people are sitting at a table and drinking merrily, while the 5th person is sitting at the bar, quietly conversing with the Inkeep.
What do you do?
[OOC] Hopefully you don't mind the formatting of the following RP example, but I promise that there's a sane reason behind it. Should we both be accepted, Sjunior and I intend to play characters who know each other. As such we've intertwined our stories, and we figured that we might as well intertwine our RP example as well. Although it's hopefully clear who wrote what, I wrote the initial entry and every other post from then out. Sjunior wrote the rest. [OOC]
Abner eyed the tavern wearily. He’d been walking for almost two hours without stopping for a break, and if he were to be honest with himself that was far too much effort. He wasn’t in a hurry after all, he had no real destination.
“Well, I’m taking a break Claudia.” he spoke with a disinterested tone and gestured towards the inn. “What about you?”
Claudia would have sighed as soon as she saw Abner eye the Tavern, Knowing that they’d undoubtedly be taking a break, Again, In the very near future. And it seem’d she was right. “I suppose i’ll just have to accompany you in. As if I’d have anything else to do of interest.” She’d sigh again. “I still cannot honestly believe there can exist a person quite as lazy as you.” She’d say as she tidies up her dress in preparation for entering the Tavern, Which she probably didn’t need to anyway.
“Splendid!” he proclaimed with the sort of enthusiasm he reserved for not doing anything. “I don’t suppose you have any coin left over from our last job? I seem to have spent all of mine..” Abner pulled out a rather sad looking pouch and turned it inside out. “See?”
“I just..” She’d look at Abner with a look of disbelief, Shaking her head. “..Yes, Of course I have some left over coin. As I always do.” She’d say in stark contrast to his enthusiastic tone, taking out a small looking dainty coin purse and throwing it over at him. Rather hard.
Abner fumbled with the bag for a few seconds as he narrowly avoided dropping it before grinning. “I’ll owe you for next time, alright?” he nodded slightly towards Claudia before opening the tavern door.
“Ohh, Of course. Next time. I’ve heard that before.” She’d mutter with a shake of the head as she went in to follow him. Looking about.
“How much could I possibly owe you already?” he asked as he sauntered towards the counter, his ragged hat and robes looking terribly out of place within the tavern. It seemed like he would fit in much better huddled up in some hovel. This, however, did not phase Abner in the slightest.
“You know, I could give you a detailed list of you’d like. Have a rather good memory.” She’d smirk slightly, Following him still to the counter. Although looking quite displeased with the quality of the Tavern. It was a nice Tavern, Sure. But definately not up to her standards. Who as opposed to Abner, Looked quite suited for a grand sort of dance.
Abner paid Claudia’s comment no heed. He instead turned to the innkeep and spoke. “Pardon, but I’ll have your second cheapest drink, and my companion will have…” He turned to look back at Claudia as he awaited an answer.
“The most expensive thing you have.” She says as she leans on the counter, thinking she might as well enjoy herself being as she’s paying for the drink anyway.
Abner raised an eyebrow at Claudia. “You do know that I’m only paying you back for my own drink, right?” Despite his raised eyebrow, Abner didn’t seem too concerned. After all, just because she expected him to pay for her drink as well didn’t mean he’d do so.
“Trust me, I know better than to expect you to do something like that after knowing you all these years. Besides, I want to enjoy myself.” She smiles slightly, Glancing over toward the four, rather loud customers at the table. Curious as to why they are oh so jolly. But just shrugs.
“Wait, you actually enjoy things?” he replied jokingly
“Why, Yes. Surprising isn’t it? Almost as surprising as you having enough strength in your body to even lift something to drink.” She replied in a similar manner.
“Sometimes I surprise even myself.”
Claudia would just laugh slightly, shaking her head. “S’pose miracles do exist.” She’d say lightly, Then look to the Inn keeper to see the status of her drink.
The Innkeep returned shortly with both drinks. Abner’s drink was substantially smaller. For a moment Abner seemed to reconsider his order, but he quickly reaffirmed his commitment to his decision and paid for both drinks from Claudia’s dainty coinpurse. He got several strange looks from both the Innkeeper and the man who had been speaking with him previously.
Claudia gently takes her drink from the Innkeep, Taking a small sip before giving quite the happy and contented look. “Right, So I assume we’ll be heading back on the road after this Drink or.. Will we be staying the night in this place?”
“There’s no point in paying for a room when the weather is as balmy as it is. We might as well just find a tree to camp out underneath” Abner shrugged as he downed his drink.
“Right, Right..” She nods, Also working on her drink. Though in a much more lady-like and refined manner.
After a few more minutes, both Abner and Claudia would end up leaving the tavern to continue their journey. And continue it they did, for another ten or so minutes before Abner got tired of walking and lay down for a quick nap.

Have you read the Tenants of Law and the Lore?- Yus.
What is Dare's favorite Music?- House Music is the way to go folks. Way. To. Go.
Character Name- Claudia Randshardt III Of Windamyre
Character Race- Immorti
Character Age- 248 (Depending on how long ago Lilith did the things. Regardless, she seems 24
appearance wise.)
Backstory Summary (at least 1 paragraph with acceptable spelling and clear thinking displayed)-
Claudia’s Personal Backstory: Before becoming an Immorti, Claudia used to be the Daughter of a very wealthy and prominent Family of some long forgotten Kingdom, Owning their own Estate, Claudia was quite fond of exploring the grounds and coming up with all sorts of mischief as a child. As she matured and grew up to be a Beautiful young lady, She became much more postured and lady like, For-going her care free personality of her childhood. Eventually she was engaged to marry. But alas, Not all was as it seemed with said engagement. As a family does not become as rich and powerful as hers without making enemies. Her ‘love’ was in actuality one of said enemies, Only making his way into her life to map out the estate for a raiding party. She lost her life in that raid, And the rest is quite literally history. Well it should have been history. But a Father’s love for his daughter is stronger than most bonds, Especially in the case of Claudia. Filled with regret and sorrow that She died at such a young age, And oh so tragically. He took it upon himself to strike a deal with the devil, So to speak. or in this case the dark Deus that resided in the place of burning rock and bleeding stone. His life for his daughter’s, So that she might live again someday. His wish was granted.
She awoke in a daze, Buried underground deep where her Estate used to be once in the days of olde. Without any hesitation she found her self clawing at the dirt above, Making her way toward the surface of the earth. With first a hand sticking out of an old, worn grave she popped out of the dirt which seemed undisturbed for quite some time, Even kept. Until now, That is. Still disoriented and with hazy visions of a past life flashing into her head, she put a hand to her head, Stumbling about. It did seem as though her personality carried over, trying to maintain a careful and collected posture even still. After looking about it would seem she was in a Graveyard, The crack of dawn what it seemed like and a tad bit of mist in the air. Slightly confused still, And with a sort of.. Hunger in her, She decided to walk about to see what she could find. And unfortunately for the local groundskeeper of the graveyard, She found him. Lured by his scent and powered by an un-distinguishable hunger, She watched him, As if an animal stalking it’s prey. And as the groundskeeper knelt down to tend to what would be his last grave she leapt from the mists of the night, Digging her claws into the poor man’s chest and biting away at the back of his neck.
She felt sustained, At ease. As if that was her new purpose. Solely to quench the hunger in her body. And it was. And so she went off, Off to find more food for consumption. And things were going her way mostly, Until she met a certain Wizard that is.
It was as any ordinary night for Claudia. She was roaming about a well traveled road in the woods, Sticking mostly to the cover of the bushes. Waiting for the next unsuspecting traveler to feast upon. And she found him. A man with an unusually pointy, And somewhat large hat. Going about his way on the path, In A rather sickeningly relaxed and lazy posture. To Claudia anyway. But it didn’t matter, He’d be gone from the face of the world in a short ‘bite’ of time. Creeping her way rather stealthily under the foliage of the forest as the Man stopped to take a rest. What seemed to be his 5th in a miniscule amount of time. Primed and ready to take him down and begin eating, Claudia growled at first, Snarling. As if a feral beast in an attempt to disorient him. Then swiftly after leapt out of the bush she was in, in an attempt to tackle him to the ground, taking him by surprised and begin her meal. But before she could make contact, The man lifted up his palm in her direction, A flash of light emanating from his hand and before she knew it she was pushed back, Hard into the bark of a tree. Dazed, And quite confused, She tried to stumble onto her feet again, Determined to run back at him and finish the job. Upon almost reaching him, Close enough to claw at him even, She froze. Just froze. Staring at him, Her eyes widening. That oh so familiar feeling of hunger in her somewhat.. Soothed. Pacified. Almost. She couldn’t bring herself to bite into him, No less lay a hand on him. Though she wanted to. Oh how she still wanted to. Yet she couldn’t.
Following their encounter, Claudia decided to stay with the Man. Whom she now knows as Abner. At first in hopes to find out some way to reverse his spell, Or at the very least gain some knowledge of it. But alas, It wasn’t meant to be. Abner, While insanely lazy. Maddeningly so, Was not dumb. No, Not at all. So it seemed. But after 4 years of traveling together, She decided it in her best interest to just keep herself near him. After all, What good can she do by herself if she cannot satisfy her longing? And any normal person would kill her at first glance.
And so, Here we are. At this point and time in the Immorti named Claudia’s life. For whatever new happenings await she and her companion Abner.

Character Age- 23
Backstory Summary (at least 1 paragraph with acceptable spelling and clear thinking displayed)-
Born in death. That's how Alice would describe her childhood. Little Alice lived in an orphanage for the first few years of life, her mother dying during childbirth and her father, nowhere to be found. They shunned her wherever she went. It was believed that she was cursed, her hair as white as snow and her eyes like the stormiest clouds. She met the first man of her life at five years old, the first man who would take care of her and die for her in a heartbeat. Dunham Blair, her adoptive father and one of the many hard working miners of the town, saw Alice sitting in the field out front, playing with grass. She was so small and precious, fragile and vulnerable with her big pale, innocent grey eyes. He knew of the rumors but couldn't see an ounce of evil in this young child. He first began to bring her the sweets from a town bakery, enjoying her laughter and cries of joy when she saw him. Years passed since he took her home, raising her as if she were his own.
Thirteen now, she watched as men slaughter the first man to ever love her, blood staining her long white hair and snow colored face. They took her and forced her into slavery. Taught to wait on nobles, she served only to please, in every way possible. She learned how to use a bow in secret from one of the peasant boys that would sneak out to her. She perfected her shot, even down to moving targets. After five years of servitude and abuse, she took their goods and escaped. Ran far, far away from that life and her past. They look for her wherever she goes, wanting to catch the fugitive that stole gold and silver, diamonds and rubies from the nobles for her own personal gain. Now she continues to run, coming and going as she pleases. She'll never let her past catch her.

Observing with a keen eye for valuables, Alice walks into the Inn, the smell of beer and a musty draft hitting her like a ton of bricks. She walks over to the Innkeeper. "A room please..." Keeping it short and simple, paying exactly the amount he asks for. Nothing more, nothing less. She begins to feel nervous, becoming paranoid by the people in the room. Feeling stares burning her back, she takes the keys from the Innkeeper. Breaking a nervous sweat she makes her escape to her room. Alice makes a mental note of what she saw from the drunken bar patrons and plans to make a late night trip to their rooms.
