Minescape is a non-commercial (for fun) project aimed at recreating the 2007 version of the popular MMO Runescape in an online Minecraft server setting. Mainly, the development team is aiming to reproduce the following aspects of Runescape:
F2P World - Everything from Tutorial Island to the Wilderness
F2P Quests - All 18 quests available to free players, from the exact quest dialogue to the NPCs and monsters
F2P Skills - Craft, cook, and mine your way to level 99 in your skills. Everything is as authentic as possible to Runescape's skills
Items and Armor - All items and armor from f2p runescape can be acquired
Authentic Textures and Sounds - Through a texture pack that automatically downloads when you login, you will find yourself completely immersed in a world that feels extremely similar to Runescape
Minigames and Dungeons - Castle Wars, Daemonheim, and more...
After main development is finished and the project is out of beta, our focus will be shifted towards development on the member area and skills.
I absolutely love this server. I've only been playing it since like the 28th of July, but... Everything that I've experienced thus far as been absolutely amazing. Great staff.. awesome game. If anyone wants to enjoy an Oldschool RuneScape experience in a whole new light, then you really should play MineScape.
Keep in mind that this is a Beta, and if you do decide to play, you need to remember that is a beta. Any player that joins should be ready to give everything up at a moments notice. I love this server, and all it's quirky little flaws. Things are being updated daily.
You will lose things. Be it skills, or items, or whatever. People join to play a game, and max their skills out. But they all need to remember that this is a beta. They willingly acknowledged the fact that they were joining a server during it's beta phase. They should not be so unwilling to accept the fact that a lot of things are temporary, and constantly changing.
I hope anyone who reads this decides to give MineScape a try, because it's well worth it. All you need is patience, and a willingness to ride down a bumpy road fraught with too many changes to count.
Interesting how the OP posts that it's "10/10" and that he'd spend the rest of his life playing it. Bit of a thinly veiled self-promotion, there. :/
Sounds like an interesting server, though. I tried to jump on earlier, but I crashed while trying to download the resource pack. I'll give it another try later.
Very happy to be a new member of the MineScape community. I love this server, and it's awesome to be able to hop on a project so early in it's development. Can't wait to see the immense growth this server has the potential to produce.

Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.

However by the pictures this looks amazing.
And once I get more time to play I'm sure I'll get weird pixeldaishavu.
