Been on here for a while now, really interesting server.
Seems that the admins know what they are doing, and all the players seem really cool. Town is well made and the general gameplay mechanics are still evolving which is great.

Character Name: Elden Stonesworth Race: Hill Man Age: 22 Class: (warrior, mage, farmer, etc) Trader/Merchant kinda guy Appearance: Medium build and height, not very commanding in appearance but does not appear weak either. An intelligent face but is covered in dirt and soot from being on the road so often. An overall shabby appearance but looks like the kind of guy who knows what is what and has been through nearly every experience. Personality Traits: Very cunning and charismatic, yet he tends to keep to himself, especially in new environments. Very shallow upon first meeting him but once somebody gets to know him he opens up and proves to be a valuable friend. Character Strengths: Is very experienced in regards to traveling the roads and knows the terrain fairly well. Is not the strongest of men but knows how to escape from nearly every situation. Also has a knick for getting good deals and bartering. Knows how to farm, barter, and converse with people. Character Weaknesses: Tends to stay in the background and does not get involved very much, leading to not that many contacts in the world. Is unable to fight very well and often runs instead. Backstory: Elden grew up the simple life in a coastal village that was humble in every aspect. Both of his parents were farmers and Elden was just about convinced he would be a farmer as well. Due to spending most of his childhood in the fields, Elden grew to hate farming and began pursuing other interests in the village. After befriending the local inn keeper and spending most of his time in the tavern area, the now matured Elden started to learn how to deal with people when it came to prices and goods. Pretty soon, the inn keeper took Elden in for his own son and taught him the ways of a merchant. Life went well for a few years before Elden's ambitions got the better of him- he wanted to go out into the open world. Feeling confident with his skills in farming, bartering, and general people-skills, Elden left his humble village and went into the wilderness that surrounded the place he always called home.

Age:25
Class: (warrior, mage, farmer, etc) Warrior/Miner
Appearance: - Female
- 5" 4
- 102 lbs
-Her hair colour is silvery-white
-Eye colour is a sky-blue
She has a scar over her right eye extending from her eyebrow to the bottom of her right cheek.
However, the odd things is her right eye is unaffected. One might think of magic to restore her eye.
She seems somewhat withdrawn whenever she interacts with people, however if people interact with her enough she will open up to them over time.
Personality Traits: A very strong headed woman, very hard to intimidate. However, she is more withdrawn from socializing with others and is hard to get along with until you know her better.
Character Strengths: Hard to intimidate, adept in melee combat, has no need for shiny hocus-pocus magicka. Her muscles toned from endless hours of mining.
Character Weaknesses: Has a fear of lakes/Oceans, Can't use magic worth crap. Believes that bows are for cowards.
Backstory: Goda Hammerstrike was born into the clan of the Swinging Hammers, ever since she was able to take her first steps until her adolescent years, she was always near a forge and a anvil, always eager to learn the trade of her grandfather and father. When she was finally at the sweet age of sixteen, she would often go into the mines with her family to make statues and trinkets hewn from their mountain home of Hul'dalar, a vast dwarf kingdom of a thousand and thirty five souls by their standards. The halls were adorned with gold and silver, on the ceilings were cast with dwarven-made stalacites that gave off light almost as bright as a sun. Goda Hammerstrike of the clan Swinging Hammers recovered her breath. Leaning back against the roughly hewn wall of the watch tower, she cupped her hand to her bushy brown eyebrows and shaded her eyes from the unaccustomed light. The ascent had been grueling and her close-woven chainmail, Axe, and shield weighed heavy on her legs. There was no one younger to stand watch in her stead. Only a few days previously, the nine clans of Hul'dalar had been attacked in their underground halls. Many had lost their lives in the battle, but the young and inexperienced were the first to fall. Then came the sickness. No one knew where it had sprung from, but it preyed on the dwarves, sapping their strength and enfeebling their hands. And so it was Goda, despite her age, was guarding the gate that night. Two vast slabs of solid rock erected by the dwarves to stem the tide of the invading beasts. For some the sight of the gate was not enough of a deterrent, bleached bones and twisted scras of armour were all the remained of them now. However, the war with the orcs wasn't over. Goda was one of the many to abandon her homeland in search of peace and solitude.

Character Name: Rosette Amberale
Race: Human of the Desert Tribes
Age: 20
Class: (warrior, mage, farmer, etc) Cook, with a specialty in brewing drinks
Appearance: Rosette has shiny black hair and dark eyes. She is short for a human, and has the tan skin associated with her people. She usually is wearing an apron and only owns simple clothes. She keeps them as clean as she can (when she isn't cooking of course)
Personality Traits: Shy, naive, quiet, honest.
Character Strengths: Smart - knows multiple languages, excellent writer, knows accounting type math. Could easily be described as cute. Can sing well under the right circumstances. Knows how to dance, but generally declines unless she is very good friends with someone, or it is a group dance
Character Weaknesses: Quiet, a little gullible, Common tongue is not her first language, has a slight speech impediment. She's also a little OCD.
Backstory:
Rosette Amberale comes from a long line of brew masters. Her family brand is well known, but that does not mean it is top of the line. Each generation has tried to make improvements upon their ale, and Rosette will be no different. Her father took up the life of a traveling brewer and merchant whenever things seemed like they would turn south. He sold the family establishment, and invested in a wagon, claiming that there needed to be a serious change in the way things were done or the brew would never acquire the legendary status genrations had worked hard to accomplish. Life on the road taught Rosette a little bit about protecting herself. Her father taught her how to use a sling, but she never used it to hit people or animals. Only targets like bottles or cans. Its something that she sparingly practices, just to make sure she doesn't get too rusty.
Rosette was always a shy child, but her parents were determined to set her to a merchant's mindset. They taught her the basics of many different skills including cooking, cleaning, accounting, multiple languages (though not perfect), and brewing of course. Rosette is an obedient child, and though she learns things well she does not normally perform that well in front of people she doesn't know. She stutters a little on top of a thick accent, which at times can make her difficult to understand. Her stutter does not effect her singing however, but she only sings when she thinks no one is listening.
The Amberale family picked up their life and sold their wares from town to town. They were able to find better seeds for the hops and new spices to add. The Amberale's made many friends and connections as well, but squandered away all of the savings and money from the house. When Rosette turned 15 they had to settle in a large city and begin to earn income again. Their family recipe of Amber Ale had improved, but their profits did not due to all of the rival taverns that already existed there, not to mention their unfamiliarity with the local ways and customs.
Rosette's father came into a bit of trouble when local thugs began to demand protection money for the safety of his customers. He went to the city watch, and they happily obliged him in protecting his establishment for small favors like free wine and food. The Amberale's thought all was well until the end of year taxes came along. The city charged them an outrageous amount for the extra protection, far more than the thugs had been asking for in the first place. When her parents brought it up that they had offered the guards free food and drink, it was thrown in their face that it was exactly that - free. So unable to pay their taxes, both parents were arrested and forced into hard labor. They managed to shave just enough money out for Rosette's freedom and some travel expenses, so they sent her out with a mission to start an alehouse and come back to pay their debts.
Rosette wanted no part of that corrupt city, and left with all of her possessions on her back. She traveled the countryside looking for a good place to settle and earn some money doing whatever odd jobs that will come her way.

Backstory: Layla Elvina, Originally Layla Stone was disowned by her father at a very young age due to her mischievous ways. She ran away from home shortly after. She was only 7 when she ran into an elf, he was rather old but his appearance seemed that of a young man. He trained her in combat and showed her the art of farming and gathering. Practically raising her as his own. Thus she considered herself Layla Elvina, Elvish for friend of elves. When she was 18, Layla decided to leave the Elves and embark on new land. 3 years later she's been through sleepless nights and grueling stand offs with all sort of night dwellers. Until today, Layla has tracked 3 Guardsmen to a little village, Alnilam. "I wonder if they'll let me stay there. Character Name: Chase Alexander Royal (Nicknamed "Ace" for his skill with cards) Race: Plainsman Age: 21 Class: Rogue Appearance: Not only is he lucky in life, but Ace happened upon the genetic jackpot, many would say. He has pale skin and long, soft platinum hair. His violet eyes also add to his unique look which only works because of his pretty boy face and ottermode (dunno how else to put it. Google it) body. He dresses in clothes that show off his egoism and style, like vests and clothes with many useless pockets and belts. It's as if he's trying to say "I'm the main character so come and look at me" but he just doesn't have the personality traits for that.
EDIT: I was originally going to be an albino, but it seems that there already is one, and I'm not the only one with unrealistic colors, so I scratched that. Personality Traits: The biggest traits are egoism, naivety and overconfidence. These tend to get him into a variety of difficult situations, but his charm and intelligence can usually get him out. On the surface he appears fun to be around, carefree and "cowboyish", but underneath that, his arrogance and sense of entitlement prevails. To a wise-man he is a child, to his peers, either a narcissist or the life of the party, and to women, the guy you want, but really shouldn't. Character Strengths: Charming. Very lucky. Skilled with a sword and capable with chakrams, but knows little of combat besides textbooks and sport. Above average intelligence. He shares many traits with sociopaths, but is not lacking the empathy a sociopath is. Character Weaknesses: Arrogant. Rash. Irresponsible. Very overconfident. Like I said, he shares traits with sociopaths, but doesn't have the lack of empathy needed to be diagnosed one. (If psychology has even advanced that far yet.) Backstory: (I prefer to play a simple character rather than a character with a complex backstory, or even worse, a stereotypical "my parents were killed by murderers" story. I hope that's okay.)
Chase Alexander Royal was born in an upper class family. Together, he grew up alongside his older brother in a steady family that would raise them well. The two always had the newest clothing and a great education. Not only were they taught all the necessities of life, but they were both educated in various humanities such as art and law. They also learned a few self defense tricks and to use chakrams, in case the law wasn't enough. Even though they provided him with a good base, Ace had always found his parents extremely uptight and oppressive, seeing himself, ironically, as the only down to earth member of the family. He took little interest in school and preferred to spend his time doing what he enjoyed. From a young age, Ace and his brother were taught to fence. Soon enough, Ace would surpassed his brother and would become extremely good. Oftentimes he would watch matches studying every competitor's strategy and perfecting his own, preparing for every possible flavor of opponent. He became adept at predicting who would defeat who and who had the upper hand. This eventually caused him not only to improve his own abilities, but also gave him the upper hand when betting on competitors. Eventually this habit would lead to other experimentation with forms of gambling. Soon after, because he possesses an analytical and strategical mind, he became extremely good at cards. As expected, his parents were disappointed with his hobbies. They viewed gambling as immoral, and fencing, while interesting, a waste of time when done excessively. Eventually, with the combined actions of gambling, his over-flirtatious attitude, and arrogance they became extremely upset and cut off contact. While it may have upset his parents, these things may have been some of the most beneficial things he had done. Without any of these, he would've continued to grow more and more arrogant under the wealth and security of his family. 3 years later they would make up and money was no longer a problem for him, but he missed the sense of adventure and freedom and so now he's left for Alnilam with nothing but some money, Fortune, a rapier he won in a bet, and a pair of chakrams that his father had given him at a young age

Character Name: Chase Alexander Royal (Nicknamed "Ace" for his skill with cards)
Race: Plainsman
Age: 21
Class: Rogue
Appearance: Not only is he lucky in life, but Ace happened upon the genetic jackpot, many would say.
(If psychology has even advanced that far yet.)
Backstory: (I prefer to play a simple character rather than a character with a complex backstory, or even worse, a stereotypical "my parents were killed by murderers" story.

Character Name: Jacob McFarrelly
Race: Plainsman
Age:21
Class: (warrior, mage, farmer, etc) Blacksmith
Appearance: Six foot One, Black hair and blue eyes. dark skin from the forge.
Personality Traits: Likes to help others, strong willed, friendly to most.
Character Strengths: Smithing, sword fighting, and bartering.
Character Weaknesses: Bows, dislike for cats, fear of small spaces.
Backstory: His parents owned an inn, he and his siblings helped out when they could. Jacob loved all the cool weapons and armour some adventurers brought in. Jacob always volunteered to clean them. He also liked the stories on the master blacksmith who crafted these things and what they were used for. Jacob had decided at age eleven that he wanted men to tell tales of the great blacksmith Jacob McFarrelly! His parents where minorly skeptical at first but came around when they realized he would be helping people.
When Jacob wasnt at the inn, he was at the blacksmiths across town. It was run by an old man named Jack. The old man was a couple years from retirement and decided to take an apprentice. He taught jacob everything he knew. Iron armour for soldier and even gold for nobles. Jacob always marveled at jacks prized sword, it was blue and almost looked glass like. Jack called this material, Diamond. So when Jacob was finally ready, he decided to go to another town and help them with smithing, perhaps run his own blacksmith.IGN:Nochyotaco
