This was due to me being the only one online to do the drop, Next time we have one i will ensure more admins are on to help out and spice it up a little more sorry XD
This might make them easier to host, looks like it makes them automated. Probably not as good as you and joe doing them together but it might be something to try out if you two can't be online at the same time.
Overall they're improving pretty steadily, but there is still a lot of work to do before everything is priced well.
For example, 64 sugarcane sells for $115 while $64 carrots sell for $100.
As everyone knows, sugarcane is easier to farm than carrots so the fact that carrots sell less despite taking longer to farm and being more annoying to replant, its just not too well thought out. Potatos, Wheat, Carrots, most of the farmed stuff could use some attention.
There are some other things but I can't remember them atm.
While you're working in the shop, little things always make it better.
It's not really important but it would be a lot better if you organized the wool colors.
White, Gray, Black, then follow the color spectrum.
I know the data values are kind of messed up for these so it's more work to set it up that way but I think it'd be worth the effort when you find the time to do it.
You could also do the same thing for this with the Dyes and the items used to make them, but I'm not sure where in the shop you would put them. There isn't much wall space in it.
WE are building a new shop as well as a new spawn, the current server setup is temporary, spawn wise, the new shop will be bigger/better and it will have almost all items ingame, unless we want to promote trading and auctioning
You should definitely put as much as you can into the shop, player based economies kind of suck. I deal with players to get better deals than the shop for selling or buying things, but the ability to sell and buy everything at a shop is the way to keep the server fun. Relying on other players isn't too good of a system, especially in Factions and PvP ones.
server is now online it seemed to crash in the middle of the night due to the memory leak, i updated spigot if i dont see an imporvment to memory use then we will have to debug more
That sucks. Oh well, I guess that's just Minecraft 1.8. It is pretty buggy and glitchy, I actually almost forgot that 1.8 forced me to get Optifine. The performance without it was dreadful even on my computer which is a high performance build. With Optifine, I'd say I more than tripled my performance and most importantly got rid of the choppiness and lag spikes when near water. Most of the time I now sit at over 200 FPS with dips down to around 60.
At this point I think you should stop caring about it so much, and just wait for it to be fixed. While waiting for a proper solution to this, make the server handle this. Have the server computer stop and restart the Minecraft/Spigot server application on a schedule 3 times a day or however often as you see fit.
For example you can have it restart at 9AM, 4PM, and 9PM.
You have a 32GB server, so it should be able to stay up for a bit even with the bugs, I'd try 3 times a day at the times suggested and if this happens again add more restarts throughout the day.
Obviously warn players for a fair bit before it happens. Since they won't be a very common occurrence you can have a 30 minute, 15 minute, 5 minute and 30 second broadcast without it being viewed as spammy.
Depending on your Operating System it should be pretty easy to schedule something like this, I actually used the Windows Task Scheduler to do my server backups while I was hosting. I'm sure you have something similar and should be able to find a way to have it input commands to the server to do the broadcasts and the /restart or /stop functions.
Thank you
The last Drop Party with Joe was a lot better than this one, seemed to be too much running around and the drops were slower.
