Hello, I am not happy I bought a server here at shockbyte 7 hours ago. My server is still "pending" and when I bought the server I only got a receipt but no details to the multicraft login. I sent a ticket 3 hours ago about my issue yet no response.
ticket ID: 976778
please help
You should've had several emails sent to you after you purchased your server, one of which, includes your multicraft login details. At least, that was how it's supposed to be from my understanding and experience with Shockbyte
I order a 3GB server on 8/12 since I wanted to play with some friends. I started adding some mods to the server through forge, but one time when I tried to restart the server it wouldn't start back up (happened the next day 8/13). I kept getting the "failed to bind to port" error every time i try to start the server, so I started a ticket with them and they replied with "i'll have a tech guy look at it". It's been over 3 days now and nothing, still 100% unusable.

Edit: I believe I've located your ticket and the issue has been resolved. Some changes were also made to your server to prevent it from occurring again in the future.
I honestly don't really have to explain myself everything you are looking into for a Minecraft Server hoster is right here, Simply the best one out their. You may instantly look at the prices and think wow that's too good of a deal to be true.. what's the catch? The catch is Shockbyte truly cares for their customers. I've been using this host for nearly a week and I've had no problem at all I've had many questions that were almost instantly replied to with such professional manner I honestly couldn't believe it. My server has had no connectivity problems nor has it had any lag problems in general the server boots, starts, and restarts extremely fast. Comes with an easy panel to modify your server as you need. If you are still deciding what do you have to lose? $2.50/GB a month is such a killer deal for a money back guarantee if you aren't satisfied... and from the bottom of my heart I say you will be satisfied.. you have nothing to lose besides the fact you haven't gone ahead and got your server, with shockbyte instant setup you could be playing on your new server RIGHT NOW!
Their servers are reliable and top notch quality. It's been a little over a week and I have now rented a server through another server host. Response time for an issue when I really needed them took over 24 hours (24/7 support claim). Even then, it was so frustrating at one point that I wanted to give up trying to load Forge 1.7.10 (they only default offer Forge 1.8).
The new server host I'm using instantly set up my modded server in less than an hour and checked in on my to make sure everything went well even after the mod install.
Pretty much will only use the Shockbyte server is I want to play vanilla MC and nothing else.
I had a vanilla server hosted through them and it was very fast and dependable.
Setting up a modded server has been a nightmare (mostly due to my own inexperience). I've had a support ticket in since 8:23am yesterday (it's 7:45pm now). I decided to test another service and the server setup was almost instant and worked like it was "out of the box".
10/10 for vanilla and for people that really know server setup (I assume).
5/10 for response (you're selling a resource that people work with 24/7. Waiting 36+hours seems a bit much).

10/10 cost for power. Inexpensive and powerful

I would like to add to this. They do offer great services but forget trying to install cauldron to your server. The jar they offer does not work even with the correct libraries and even if you upload your own, it still won't work. It seems most cauldron downloads don't work, and support provides no help on that subject.
Just to let everybody know, I created this account in order to post this review, this is my first and probably only comment on this forum.
All though I had a rocky start with Shockbyte when the control panel turned off a day after registering, Shockbyte has been the best Minecraft server host I have ever used. The vast amount of jars to pick from is overwhelming and the speedy servers causes minimal lag in the most challenging situations. Shockbyte made their Multicraft panel look a lot more appealing than other hosts, and their speedy support does everything you want them to do for you. When I went to purchase two more servers, I found the servers ready to be used in less than five minutes. They also try to make it as convent as possible to manage your servers. To sum it up, if your getting a Minecraft server, go with Shockbyte and stick to them even if it does not start out as well as you thought - trust me.
EDIT: I barely ever use support, I only used it to upgrade and get my dedicated ip.
I just took the Minecraft Noob test! Check out what I scored. Think you can beat me?!

How do I install forge on my server, support's taking too long.

BEEN WAITING, 24/7 support is a lie
This host is for people that are looking for a cheap server that know what there doing if you are looking for support you will need to pay alot mroe for a server.
We'll see how this goes. I saw for $35 I can get 12gb and a dedicated IP vs my $34 beastnode 4gb. I would say I'm not expert, but I am kind of a computer expert so I'd say the math kind of speaks for itself there lol. Of course that says nothing about reliability, but for a heavily modded server. This seems appropriate. I will let you folks know how it goes. So far the fact their control panel has KCauldron without any required additional files, is very nice. It is the only server software I use and will use until Sponge has enough viable plugins, That being said, I am optimistic. If they are reliable enough and their servers support what they claim, I will be switching all of my servers over to them, the price is so much better. Even if I do need to do some extra work myself, I always did anyway.
Update: My server transferred over just fine, booted up with the newer version of KCauldron just fine and everything works good on that part. My only problem so far is that I paid for a Dedicated IP, but I do not have a Dedicated IP... so we'll se how that goes.
I host 4 servers from them and it has worked pritty good, Figured out theire flaws and all that.
I got from the: 2, 4gb servers and 2, 1 gb servers
Perks:
Cheap, half the price of other companies
New, Hardware and company seems new and reliable.
24/7 Support on weekdays.
Flaws:
Some of theire machines still run java 6 (Not good for modded servers)
Takes time off on weekends??
They are a new company as far as I've seen(alot left to setup).
Update's server jar's every 4 month or so you should prob get access to custom.jar from scratch.
Regards,
Thomas
Hi Thomas, thank you for your review. Just to clarify - most of our machines run Java 8, however we do have some Java 7 nodes available for people that require this for older mod packs (we don't have any servers running Java 6). Our staff are available on weekends, however usually during this time there is a larger volume of support requests, so it is possible that support is a bit slower on weekends. We've been around for almost 3 years, which makes us one of the oldest hosts for Minecraft - if you see anything that doesn't look quite right, please let us know so we can correct it. We have a large list of jars available on our panel for a one click install and update this frequently. If there's any jars missing that you'd like added, you can let us know through a ticket and we'll add it for you.
They are AWESOME! My Minecraft SMP series with mods flows nicely on the server. And the support is where it lacks, but It is better than EA support by miles. The ping is really good on the east coast, I average 30 ms ping! And the price is unbeatable, best price ever! The conclusion is this host is the best bang for the buck, but support could use some work.

Honestly, the service is questionable as of now. The Ftp upload won't allow any files regardless of size to be uploaded on a 120 mb limit. 1 mb wont allow it to be uploaded. Support won't reply to the progress of the issue. I will give them a final review at the end of this month, that is if I can actually use ftp access.

Use an FTP program like Free FTP or FileZilla, I just uploaded my 1GB+ server flawlessly, it ported over great and looks exactly the same.
Still waiting on my dedicated IP though...
I haven't used the service, but those prices are absolutely amazing. Will definitely come back when I decide to host a server.

Pretty good host. only thing i dislike is when i get a ticket reply they say they are just gonna hand the problem off to a coworker.
