when i open a ticket it takes almost two hours before they answer :/
The majority of our tickets are answered within 30 minutes, however all tickets are answered within 24 hours. 2 hours is still an incredibly quick response time (in comparison to most other hosts). This would just generally mean we had a higher volume of tickets at the time you opened your ticket than usual.

Hi there! I read through your reviews and I'm liking what I'm hearing. May I ask how well a server in Quebec will stand for players who are all located in Singapore? My friends and I are still looking for one, so far we haven't found servers that do very well half way across the world, I'd love to know how well your servers will do with Singapore-based players.
Thanks!
EDIT:
Bought a server anyway, and it's working great so far. I'm very impressed. Some plugins are taking time to work but that's no fault of theirs, but rather mine because I probably messed something up. Fast customer response, very efficient answers and help. For $2.50 a month, this is way beyond my expectation and I'm very pleased. Looking forward to being hosted by you guys for the next year.
I must mention that what impresses me most is the lack of lag. Several other hosts I've tried have given me lag when me or my friends play, especially since we're from Singapore. Definitely recommend.
I have recently gotten service from this company. Im not very happy with the service as they have to give you acess to the jar info threw a support ticket. Which is fine. The part that i do have a issue with is they have a support person that answers support calls and is unable to help with the issue at hand and was notified that i would have to wait a few hours for them to give me access to the jar file. So i asked if i would be compensated for the time i have to wait for them to do their part and was told no i would not be compensated. In turn i have paid for a product that i have been unable to use or play on as i have to wait hours for and no where on there website does it say that a wait time will happen. When i asked for compensation for the time i have to wait for them to activate the custom jar this is what i was told via support system...
Hello
This will be part of your time as we operate as an un-managed company. We're looking into making this an automatic process in the future, however for now we're terribly sorry.
Hey, something you may not have considered in picking Shockbyte as your host.
Server farms in Canada can use air from the outside to cool the servers in winter. This results in a lower power usage.
In addition to that, servers in Québec run on hydro-electricity, which is very environmentally-friendly. So if you are concerned about clean energy, Shockbyte's servers run on it.
I wouldn't entirely rely on what I'm about to say about Shockbyte as a review; however, here are my experiences. First and foremost, I've administrated three minecraft servers, one of which became very popular, the other two were for fun.
I was given a Shockbyte server to use by a friend, I then deleted her files with permission and uploaded my own. I have a working local Cauldron server I run off my computer and it works entirely. I uploaded my current server to the Shockbyte server via FTP and began trying to configure Cauldron with Shockbyte's "Mulitcraft". Unlike other Multicraft versions from other Minecraft server hosts, this one does not allow you to type the name of your custom.jar in a blank field for selecting your bukkit type. They do state that they support Cauldron 1.7.10; yet, I had 2% success with getting Cauldron up and running with it. After spending close to 6 hours of my own time trying to get their service to run, I gave up and went back to my local server.
I mentioned that I had 2% success because I did find out the name that the name of the Cauldron version needed to be Cauldron1.7.10.jar, which is not stated anywhere via documentation. In fact, there is not a single shred of documentation for installing a server with their Multicraft.
Within those six hours, of course I did countless google searches. When I used MCProHosting before, I ran a Cauldron server; granted, it was 1.6.4 and not 1.7.10.
The problem that stopped me from using Shockbyte was the fact that their server kept crashing, which is not usually a problem for me, I can typically spend an hour or so finding out the solution and it'll work. Everything I tried failed with their services. I did contact their support and a day later (not immediately like people are saying), they changed the status of PENDING to COMPLETE and stated that I needed to resubmit the ticket again but in the client area instead of on the main site. So I did of course, however, it was apparently not received, all three tickets were not received.
Ultimately, this is regrettable, I'm sure they offer good servers; however, I won't be using them, even if they are free again.
Ive been with Shockbyte for about two months now. Trust me, they are no scam for their incredibly low prices. Unlike other hostings, their website isnt laggy at all and easy to get around without googling so much stuff (Past expirences.) To be honest, I was always lucky to get a 8gb server, let alone a 16gb server, but ShockByte gave me this opportunity. They reply very fast if you have any issues, and they dont abandon you if a issue is taken too far (In my exiprence, a staff member was sent directly to my server to sort out the issue.) If you want to try any service, take my advice on this, I looked EVERYWHERE for a bad comment about this, I was very sketchy about it at first! But, they proved me wrong.

Around 30 minutes isnt that long. and everywhere, I mean the time when I was looking for a server hosting Otherwise the very short time waited, Ive not had any problems.

Hi - looking for a server for my son, and am researching what's available.
I'm not new to hosting, but am new to Minecraft Server Hosting.
Please will you explain slots. I equate one slot to be one player. On your site you say $2.50 (DIRT PLAN) 1 - 20 slots followed by * An upgrade to unlimited slots is free on request.

What does that mean?

One slot allows one player to join the server. It is possible to change the slots on the server, however set a recommended amount for each package because too many players on a small package may cause the server to lag or crash. The unlimited slots simply means you can change this amount to any number you wish at any time through the panel we provide to control your server.
I run a Faction server that I am trying to get popular, are current host is in Los Angeles, California which is nice for me because I live in Seattle, Washington. One of the key things for me is a little to no lag server, I was recommended Shockbyte from a friend that runs a Prison server with you guys. I was thinking about getting the Diamond plan (8 GB) but the location for the hosting is a little edgy for me, are the servers only hosted in Montreal, Canada? I tried your test server, and my friends server. They all seemed pretty good for how far away it was, I am probably going to buy from you guys tomorrow. I just want to know if most of my US players will connect, and play fine without lag?
ok, I have a problem but whenever I try to contact support, I get no response. I am trying to run cauldron, and it says I need some libraries, so I get the libraries and put them on the server. It still says I am missing the libraries even though when I try to run it on my computer, it works perfectly.
Basically, works on my computer, but when I bring everything onto the server, it can't find the libraries.

30 minute support is absolutely not the case. I've filed two tickets now, one on the site and one in the client services panel and I've been waiting three days for a reply. Twitter says support is up on Christmas Day so that can't be the excuse. I'll edit this post when I get a reply on my ticket but it's been slow so far. Ticket #172151
Edit: Got a reply and hopefully we'll get the issue fixed, read the next post to see why.

There has been some delays in support due to Christmas. Everything should be back to normal by tomorrow. If your ticket hasn't been answered yet, you should expect it to be answered very shortly.

One slot allows one player to join the server. It is possible to change the slots on the server, however set a recommended amount for each package because too many players on a small package may cause the server to lag or crash. The unlimited slots simply means you can change this amount to any number you wish at any time through the panel we provide to control your server.

Check out my mod, TaleCraft!
Edit: Got a reply and hopefully we'll get the issue fixed, read the next post to see why.
There has been some delays in support due to Christmas. Everything should be back to normal by tomorrow. If your ticket hasn't been answered yet, you should expect it to be answered very shortly.

Product/Service:
Minecraft - Coal PendingThe invoice has been paid, could you get this working?
Hi MrPiggeh,
The reason there was a delay was because we had run out of stock at the time of your order. Your server should now be active.
Kind Regards,
Mitch Smith
