Heya Jack, you can contact me from my website or on here and we can see what we can do :smile.gif:
Why is your server down for 4 weeks if you don't mind me asking? We can move everything over for you if you have access to the files.
Thanks ziggo0, the $30 per 1GB is very near cost, given how often we refresh our hardware and the quality purchased.
We are not looking to compete with other providers on price, just offering the $30 deal until our free space is filled on our most recent refresh.
I'm in transition .. moving from my old APT. to a house. So everything is dead for now. I was hosting out of my house for my server. But.. I might take you up on your offer once I get my Nomadic transition over with. lol

Whoa !! $539.00 ???? Sorry, but anything over $100.00 for a game server is a bit extreme. I have seen them as cheap as $10.00 or heck even what is offered above for $30.00. And I know your up in Canada, try the guy above here in FL for $30.00. Its a LOT cheaper and a whole heck of a lot less lag then you might think. He and I am on the east coast of the USA. If that's closer to you then I suggest trying him out.
Keep in mind too, the server is still in BETA. So its not even worth spending a ton of money on yet. Its still too unstable.
Florida to Vancouver wouldn't be the best location for them compared to LA, Seattle, San Jose, Chicago.
They are also paying Semi-Annually with a larger package, if you divide it down by GB and Months, it's $44 per GB.
Quite a discount compared to the $58 for 1GB Mods package.
I'm not here to defend my pricing, it's what is required for the level of performance and stability.
LA would be the best location I have available for Vancouver, shortly followed by Chicago(Which many Canadian clients love to the point they use it over Canadian servers).
If you get lag, we can move your server quickly to another location to test, and if none meet your requirements, full refund.
If only putting a few plugins on the server, I'd estimate 50-70 players smooth on the 2GB plan. I have 2 clients that tell me that is amazing for 2GB.

Ahh, I keep forgetting people in other countries could end up paying for the gig.. instead of a flat rate that we out in the states have.. I am spoiled to what we have here. I need to keep that in mind. Thanks for the reminder.
Hello Jack, what do you mean paying a flat rate?
Could you give me an example?
We give the customer Dedicated DDR3 Ram by the GB, so that they get to choose how to setup the slots.
So far everyone seems to prefer this method as they're able to get about 24-30 players per GB.

I was not referring to RAM my friend. I was speaking of BandWidth. In some other countries they pay for the megabit or gigabit that they upload / download. I have ran into this problem a LOT.
After deciding that I can't host a server myself and am wanting to play with some friends I am wondering. For just 4 people playing including myself at one time MAX what would be the cheapest route for me to go?
BawssMcGee, currently the lowest priced package we can offer is $30 for 1GB and no mods. It can hold 24-30 people though, so I know it's overkill.
When I ran a server on my own computer, I watched the memory it used just for 4 people. It went past 1 GB. It was more like 1.2 GB. I have been running this server for months.. and this is what has been happening every time. I rebooted the server and watched the memory with those same 4 people and it was showing only 740 ^ megs being used. It would jump around from 740 to about 1.5 Gigs. I reboot the map once more and again, the memory started out low, UNTIL people would explore the map. I have had up to 13 people on the map once. Tested it with a reboot and the memory was about 800 megs with 13 people. But as they explored, even in areas that were already explored, the memory jumped from 800 megs to 2.4 gigs. AND FAST too.
So the pattern I am seeing, is its not how many people are logged in, Its about how big your map is loaded into memory. As long as your keep your map small, the memory for it will not grow too large. But the more you explore, expect to use up more ram. And THAT is what costs people money in the end. Memory.
bigtime96, I had someone who wanted a server with you I believe(they needed a 6 player server), but they're saying you no longer sell them? Their budget is below our offering. viewtopic.php?f=1027&t=186998&p=2726218#p2710432
Hey, im new to minecraft and the whole server thing, and i just found out about servers so i searched it up, and after looking through different servers and i was reading the comments on this one and they seemed the best and you have a low price. Anyways, i am going to rent a server from you, but i need help with like what to do, and how a sever works, and what i can do with a server . Could you contact me through msn?
your servers, arent good. me and my friends always have immense ammounts of SERVER lag. blocks regenerating, getting kicked constantly, not being able to type messages. its just terrible. please improve your quality.
Have you put in a support ticket about this?
We don't have any complaints like this open.
We will be able to fix whatever issue you're having, just need to know your tcadmin account name.
From wat I read on the Minecraft server purchases, you can only get servers for a maximum of 18 or 24 poeple? What if we want large servers for like 50 or 100+ poeple like these servers: The Voxel Box, Godcraft, etc.?
Otterman, what website did you read that at?
We host some 80+ slot servers, you pay for your server by the size of it's memory allocation to your Minecraft process.
1GB usually hosts about 16-30 players, depending on World size, player location, monsters, animals, and most importantly plugins.
The higher the GB, the more your server can handle before any performance loss happens. You can easily upgrade and downgrade at any time, most start with our smallest package, and grow into our larger options.

I think that was over many months ago and not for Minecraft.
50 Slot Minecraft server? By the slot pricing is only for classic (not SMP) so be sure that's what you want.
