Hello to you all,
I'm looking for a handful of dedicated mc players to start an interesting, first of its kind survival challenge. Surviving 365 days in an Old World type survival server/world. What does this mean? Limited resources and above all; limited space.
That being said, it comes with very unique and interesting challenges like:
- How do you deal with the space?
- What resources are limited, but can somehow be farmed?
- What do you use your truly limited resources for?
- What seed do you use to get the most possible biomes and resources? (E.g. finding a seed w/ a village can allow for villager trading, which means more resources and pro tip: unlimited diamond tools. Finding a seed w/ multiple biomes allows for wood/mobs/crop variations. Whatever you choose, it will have consequences).
I have done this challenge myself over the past year and can honestly say that I had an absolute blast doing it. It's a whole new way of playing minecraft, however I found myself thinking about what it would be like with multiple people. So i'm looking for a handful of dedicated players to try this challenge with. I'm looking to start the realm on Friday the 11th of June. The next 5 days will be focussed on sharing seeds, testing them out and finding the right one. It also allows for the players to get to know each other.
In order for this realm/world to thrive i'm not looking for any player, but for a few dedicated players that want to take on this challenge for the long run. It's important that everyone gets along so i'd like to find similar minded players with not only passion for this game (and challenge), but also those who hope to make friendships along the way.
If you feel like you'd be a good fit, please reply with the following.

What "skill" will you bring into the world:
Will you be recording the progress (e.g. yt/twitch)?
I'm asking you about you so it's only fair to share a little about me.
I'm a recent college graduate, majoring in psychology and am looking to further my education while I work as a counselor. Besides gaming i'm into hiking, working out and speding time with family and friends. I'm very open minded and love meeting new people. Please let me know if you have any questions.
*SIDE NOTE*
You might be wondering, but what about the nether/end dimensions?
Both nether portals and end portals can't be activated in the old world types, however there is a way around it. If we allow this will be something that we discuss in the discord. I will say from my own experience that it adds a lot more, plus the end/nether are also limited just like the overworld. We could always decide to open up these dimensions as we progress (e.g. nether after 1 week, end after 2 weeks etc.). The way I did it keeps the world survival and will still allow for achievements.
Another thing that can be added in is a trader with monthly/seasonal items that are otherwise unobtainable in game. Blocks from a certain biome etc. This does make the game less vanilla, so should be discussed. It also take away from the challenge that items are limited, however by introducing it later in the world's life cycle might help longevity. This would also introduce items from later versions that may come as the year progresses (think v1.17 and v1.18).
