Wait... Let me get this straight. You have a clan based on the ethos of classlessness, etc, yet you have a state? How can you call this communism when you have not reached a classless and stateless society. Anyone who has read a shred of Marxist literature knows the state is a political tool for one class to exploit another. So what do we have here? We do not have equality, classlessness, and communism, but rather state socialism. I'm not trying to troll or anything, just attempting to clarify your language. I am very interested in your responses, which will no doubt influence my joining the server.
Communism with a state is socialism. They never stated that SCoM was without class, they said that that was one of the key fundamentals of which it was founded upon and their can be a poor government official you know, being a politician doesn't guarantee prosperity. However, I do think that they should have said 'SCoM is a Socialist state; socialism is essentially communism with a state.' or something like that.

Just want to find out before applying, is this clan purely survival? Also, are there jobs or occupations specified to each player upon joining to help in the production of materials?
The clan is largely inactive. It has almost always operated in survival and players were free to choose what they wanted to do for the most part as long as it did not undermine the commune.

I am becoming bored of my hardcore singleplayer world. When i read Socialist Commune, it really grabbed my attention.

I would say that punk-rock bands such as Anti Flag and Rise Against have had a major influence on me. I could never wrap my head around the fact that everyone seemed to associate communism with dictatorships and genocide. The idea of communism is not in any way necessarily linked to these.
When i was in middleschool, i chose economics as a subject, because we had o choose a subject extra and that subject always got me easy good marks. What i expected to learn was how and why money worked the way it did. What i actually learned was the wicked nature of money and bankers and such. People who sit in rooms all day, saying buy and sell. In the end of the day they made big time money off other people who worked hard for their money and are told that investing it is a better option than just storing it. They did nothing for society. I found myself getting my ideas re-enforced by everything in my life. When i was 17 i decided to read 1984, which also really strengthened my anarchic ideas.
I still belief that one day we can get the whole idea of nations and borders and owning land out of our heads and set the first steps toward a united humanity and true equality and prosperity of our entire race on a healthy and beautiful planet (or planets, if Mars One succeeds).
