We shall descend upon our opponents like the hounds of hell, with the hosts of our Legions decimating all those that dare stand against us on field of battle. Forged in the fires of war and christened by the blood of our enemies The Protectorate stands steady in the face of opposition. Seeking out those who might call us honored foe and proving to them the worth of surrender as their fortifications burn and their men die by fated hand. Our order has stood for four years yet lingers still to inflict injury on those who call us foe. Forged from our rank were the Cohorts of Orda Imperator Novum, The Vanguard, and The Last Battalion. As they too took up cause to destroy enemy with sword, and proving themselves worthy Cohorts battles past. Yet now we are all that remain. Yet to be broken by those that dare lie idle and who may attempt conflict. Do you yet have what it takes to join the Praetorian Cohort and march to glorious beat as we take the heads of our enemies? Or would you too fall beneith boot?
=Focus=
The Protectorate is an old PvP clan in which the core focus is to excel in any server we operate in, and maintain a friendly but organized environment for play. We are a roman themed and feature a rank structure, unit structure, and other various things of import. The Protectorate is a friendly like-minded group of players that not only want to have a good time on the game, but wish to be listed among the best PvPers. We promote team work, honorable gameplay, organization, and a community of not only players but friends. The clan has been operating since 2010 and we have played on a plethora of PvP servers, from those that are hardcore vanilla PvP, to those running factions and various economy plugins. We accept all those who have come before us, those that came after us, and any willing to pick up the mantle as either friend or foe.

=Values and Ideals=
We have decided to implement a list of twelve ideals and values. It is with the belief that if you follow these values that it will lead to a path of honor and victory. If you believe that your actions are somehow against the ideals of this list then you're doing something against the premise of the clan.
1. Loyalty
Try to maintain loyalty towards your clan and leaders. If they are doing something you believe is wrong, feel free to speak up but be respectful. 2. Respect
Show respect to everyone. This means your enemies as well. If you show respect you gain respect. 3. Honesty
Be honest to your clan mates and those you view as brothers and sisters. Honesty is the best policy. 4. Integrity
Do what's right even when no one is looking. 5. Passion
Be passionate about what you do. Even if you're doing the most mundane job, you're helping the whole of the clan. It will be appreciated. 6. Courage
Have the courage to follow these values, and to fight for your clan. Also have the courage to stick up for what you believe in, even in the most dire of circumstances. 7. Cooperation
If you have a problem with someone, have the maturity to try and work it out between the two of you. If this doesn't work come to a leader and we can try mediation. Remember who will be watching your back next time you're in a fight. Do you really want someone you're arguing with in that position? 8. Diversity
We are all human, and everyone should be treated with respect and humility. It doesn't matter what race, ethnicity, or gender they are. 9. Commitment
Have pride in your clan, and in yourself. Try to stay active so that you can contribute to the whole of the group. Remember that Rome wasn't built in a day, and it took lot's of hard work and sacrifice to make it possible. 10. Community
We're in a community of individuals that play this game to have fun. Having fun is imperative to game play. If you find yourself not having fun come to a clan leader or captain. Perhaps we could find a way to help. 11. Responsibility
I think this ties into Integrity and Honesty. If you do something wrong, even if you think it will get you in trouble, try to take responsibility for your actions. Also if you make an arrangement for an event or such try to be there. 12. Humility
This is probably one of the most important values. Have the humility to know when you are wrong. Use it to balance your pride, and know that everyone is here to have fun. Just show respect and be willing to compromise.
=Code of Conduct=
[1]: Do not use x-ray texture packages, hacked clients, or any form of game modification that gives you an artificial advantage. Exceptions to this rule include mini-maps, and some forms of key modification. If you're not sure what category a mod you are using falls under, then PM the Legatus or Centurion of your Cohort.
[2]: Do not kill fellow clan mates or allies, unless a prior agreement has been made. Such an agreement might be for the testing of a new trap, etc.
[3]: Do not grief clan or ally structures. Basically don't destroy anything that isn't yours, unless it is owned by the enemy. Tactical enemy base deconstruction wouldn't be considered breaking this rule.
[4]: Follow our clans ideals and values to the best of your ability. We realize that under some circumstances things may go awry, just do your best. Nothing else is required.
[5]: Follow direct orders from a commanding officer if they are given.
[6]: Do your best to act in a mature and professional fashion while representing this clan. Remember that it's the members and their actions that shape the clans reputation.
[7]: You must be over the age of thirteen, though depending on the situation and individual, exceptions might be might.
[8]: Do not steal from your fellow clan mates or allies. Such theft can lead to disorganization, or at it's worst a war.
[9]: Last but not least, take responsibility for your actions. Own up to a mistake if it was made. Mistakes are a learning tool.
=Ranks=
Ranks will be primarily utilized when PvP engagements occur. Or if a standing order is issued for the safety and good of the clan. Otherwise PRO is trying to promote a friendly environment for play. With ranks being utilized for organization and smooth game play.
Legatus:
The leader of the clan oversees alliances, acts of war, and the production of bases and defenses. He also has the final say on clan decisions and direction.
Centurion:
Centurions run their Cohorts and make decisions regarding the way their squad fulfills the Legatus' orders. They have the final say in their Cohorts decisions, unless overruled by the Legatus.
Decanus:
The Non-Commissioned Officers of the Cohort, the Decanus is the second in command of his unit. The Decanus is expected to keep the Cohort organized and assist his Centurion in administrative affairs.
Immunes:
Immunes are Legionnaires that have a specific skill that can be used in the Cohort. These skills may include red-stone engineering, architecture, and other important skills pertaining to the clan.
Legionnaire:
Tiro who have completed the basic training exam are promoted to Legionnaires. Legionnaire's make up the majority of the clan. They are assigned to a Cohort and follow the orders assigned to them by their Centurion or Decanus.
Tiro:
Members who have recently joined are given the rank of Tiro, a Tiro or recruit is given one week to complete the basic training exam, or they are removed for inactivity.
=Clan Structure and Training=
Each Cohort will consist of an evolving number of Legionnaires, and up to two commanding officers. Each Cohort will be as combat effective as the next, which means squad generalization is being introduced. Legionnaires of each Cohort are to be trained in all areas of the game, and given a general education concerning Minecraft and it's various nuances. Instructors will deal primarily in problem areas for each Legionnaire. When the Tiro are considered to be at an appropriate level, they will be admitted into the main body of the clan. Cohorts will be named in order of their creation, and using various emblems, colors, and animals for their patronage.
