sorry guys but the sewer system project is on debate, turns out that its under a technicality of the rule "you can not have tunnels running throughout the city, only on your property" so yea Im thinking that maybe its just too much work, debate, and time its going to take up so im cancleing the project. if you wish to have one then please just elect a designer but keep me out of it im just going to run a store :happy.gif:

That really wouldn't apply if it was a government project and it only went under the streets and plots that people wished it to be under.
maybe, but i also just want to just run my store in peace :happy.gif: but if the project does work then please, give me credit for them (well partial credit because viros is working on water ways as well)
So. Some of us on this temporary server have become quite attached haha. I for one really like it and would like to keep it. Now in a conversation Viros brought up the fact that people have paid property. What do you all think about copying the cities, i.e. The main city depreville, etc. into this new map, say... in the ocean as an island. or something else like that. That way everyone keeps property and this new city and safehouse, amoung other settlements.
Also, if you want to keep the old map, I feel like we copy our settlements into the old map.

Comments? Questions? Critiques?
no offense, but uit seems like more trouble than its worth, especially since there are a lot of mines and grinders and just minor settlements that would be lost in the move, not really worth losing for a 2 day temp server
Bottom line, nobody should get attached to any map. We all know that this game is in beta, so that means that notch is constantly doing updates. Do you want to spend 5 minutes traveling to the area where you can find lapis lazuli on the old map? I say we just get a new map so that we have all of the new terrain things. A NEW map, not the temporary map. But first, we need to actually do some city planning here on the forums.
Think about how much more fun it would be to get a new map. Sure, you'd lose some stuff, but don't you think a new map would be more exciting?

It doesn't seem that exciting to have to go through the ordeal that building the city was all over again. :tongue.gif:
Well i kinda agree that we could just Copy Past the city and to make a completely new map. But still im kinda attached to my stuff on the map...but new map would be exciting for sure. BUT. I would wait with that for the VPS. If we wanna do changes, lets make them all at once.
sounds like a good solution, a bulk change seems like the way to go

I love the idea of a new map. I loved building from scratch on this map. And with a new map that will be permanent, we would have the chance to completely restructure our cities, ocupations, and any other element of our choosing. And yeah JST is right when he said we would lose some stuff. In fact it woul be a lot of stuff. But we can do it again if we really want. Minecraft is about building right?
A new map? Hah, ok we build an entire new city blah blah. Whats happens then? You all get bored of the new city/map and want another map. Just the same old cycle and some people are tired of losing everything that they have earned.
