=====----Anarcho-Communists of Minecraftia----=====
OKAY, don't worry about holding off request, just know that I'm making sure some things are in order before I start adding people to the roster again. I'll get to ya! :biggrin.gif:
from Encyclopedia Britannica: ANARCHISM (from the Gr. άν-, and άρχη, contrary to authority), is the name given to a principle or theory of life and conduct under which society is conceived without government - harmony in such a society being obtained, not by submission to law, or by obedience to any authority, but by free agreements concluded between the various groups, territorial and professional, freely constituted for the sake of production and consumption, as also for the satisfaction of the infinite variety of needs and aspirations of a civilized being.
From the Anarcho-Communism Wiki -
Anarchist communism (also known as anarcho-communism) is a theory of anarchism which advocates the abolition of the state, private property, and capitalism in favor of common ownership of the means of production, direct democracy and a horizontal network of voluntary associations and workers' councils with production and consumption based on the guiding principle: "from each according to his ability, to each according to his need".
Quote from Flender »
Anarcho-Communism is the idea that we are smart enough, as people, to respect eachother without rules or ranks telling us why and who we respect. Anarcho-Communism is the idea that we can work together because we care about getting somewhere as a group, not for meaningless paper survival points and petty greed.

Being a member of ACoM does not get you any benefits or rights you don't already have. Being a member of ACoM means you agree with Anarcho-Communism as an ideal way for a society to exist.

JOIN PROTOCOL: CHOOSE ONE:
1. Fill out this form and post it on this thread
1. (True/False) I've read/understood the first paragraph of the Anarcho-Communism Wikipedia page.
2. (True/False) I understand that this clan is NOT associated or in agreement with with Soviet/Stalinist or Socialist ideals.
3. (True/False) I've read/skimmed-over the Common Practice section of the clan forums.
4. What attracts you to ACoM?
5. What's your Minecraft Account name?
2. Write something that proves you have an understanding of both ACoM and Anarcho-Communism in general. I'd recommend a paragraph or two. Post it on this thread.
--Misinformation about Anarcho-Communism and the ACoM-- =Communism, communism, and the USSR
The political system set up by the USSR, commonly known as Stalinism or Communism (note the capital 'C') gathered alot of bad reputation, as it should have, a few decades ago. This, unfortunatly, meant that the buzz word Communism was tied to all forms of communism (note the lower-case 'c'). On its own, communism simply implies the belief in communing, living together as equals and sharing. This is strongly the case with Anarcho-Communism. =Anarchy and Freedom
Anarchy, contrary to popular belief, does not insist itself through selfish highway robbery and radical amorality. Anarchy does not insist on a lack of respect. Anarchy just says that noone can make you do what they want. Anarchists bow because they respect, not because they're supposed to. =ACoM and Griefing
The ideas of Anarchy and Communism tend to leave a bad taste in people's mouths, and since ACoM doesn't recognize the assumed power of others, it's easy to see why people would assume it's members were chaos bringers and griefers, at a glance. This is far from the truth, however. To believe in the ideas behind ACoM means to believe in the freedom of others. To harm them or what they value is to harm freedom. The only reason a true believer would take to arms is because he/she believed that more freedom would be preserved than the freedom taken by their actions.
In the same vein, an ACoM member may blow up a bank on your server, but he only does it because he wants to show the symbols of your oppresors belittled. If he blows up your house and kills your wife for no reason, he's clearly not ACoM material.
--Anarcho-Communism: What we're for--
1. Freedom to do what you want. This also means the freedom for anyone else to do what they want. If we're all respectful, this is never a problem.
2. The will to work together in an attempt to help all of our individual wills go where they couldn't go alone. Let's build together!
3. Preservation of values. Alot of people are pushing for shortcuts every day. We recognize that the more effort it takes, the more the reward. Without struggle, there is no victory.
Check out the Links section for more info!
--Anarcho-Communism: What we're against--
1. Heirarchal and Class-Based sociopolitical systems. These belittle the will of the individual by making him bow to people he may not respect. It belittles the bow, because the man receiving it cannot trust the will of the bowing. There is no honesty or love in this.
2. Capital in all forms. By believing that something has subjective value, the actual value of the thing is diminished. Wood is wood. It can be used for many things. When you give it an arbritrary value like $2, it implies that anything that is "worth" $2 is worth the same as that wood. This is the poison of Capitalism. The end result is monopoly, poverty, and a destruction of all value in the name of the dollar (euro, etc.)
3. Oppression in all other forms.

FAQ Q: I don't see much on the forums. I was told server info was there. What's going on? A: The boards are mostly hidden to guests. Try signing up for an account!
Q: My clan would like to form an alliance with ACoM! You down? A: I'm sure plenty of us are fine with working together with other clans, and if you need help, you can probably count on getting some. The way this clan works, however, being a government-less communism, means that we can't form traditional alliances, because none of us can speak for the group as a whole, and because we will agree to no rules of Alliance, regardless of whether or not we'd be following them anyway. This is the nature of Anarcho-Communism.
Q: You mention blowing up banks and destroying gold. Why not hoard it? Keep a secret vault or something? A: Because then we wouldn't be communists! We'd be capitalist thieves! Also it wouldn't quite send the same message.
Q: Damn those capitalists! Let's start a depression! A: In the case of Notch adding a fixed currency system, this is a sensible move, as we'd be at a point of desperation, being that capitalism is being FORCED on us. In a player-run economy, however, this is going a little overboard. Sending the message of Communism through force is one thing, but the banner of ACoM was not erected to ruin the game for other players.
Q: So this is a clan that promotes Player-Killing other Minecrafters? A: In short, No, but it'll probably happen. The idea behind Anarcho Communism is the promotion of free will by removing constraints such as Oppressors which includes, you guessed it, Murderers! This IS a game, of course, and since death's consequences are slightly lessened from those of real life, killing to promote this idea doesn't offend the idea itself, which is the reason behind the whole "Bombing Banks, etc..." practice. We are not thieves, we are not highway-robbers.
Q: How do you communicate? A: Right now, in Skype. Message me (VampoRainze) and let me know who you are, and I'll add you to the conversation. To reduce clutter, let's try to keep this to Clansmen only :tongue.gif:
When in the room, try to keep the topics of discussion to things involving the clan, clan ideals (Anarcho-Communism, etc) or, at least Minecraft in general. If people wanna chat, start another room for that.
Rivels? More like the police :biggrin.gif: Sounds like fun
Maybe a Pick and Sword, white, crossed over a red flag?
I can talk to msagrillo too, he's a pro artist and a marxist. We could get some cool art goin!
Now I dont really like mindless violence which is sometimes associated with anarchists but I do hate hate money. I'll join but only if we are solely against the formation of any currency or a sytem that would seek to organise us into a hierarchy while being prominently pacifist and not douchebags.
That is more or less the case. Really the clan can be boiled down to "We hate fascism" in all forms, if you consider money and organizations like CPoS fascists (though they may have good intentions, which is why I'm encouraging in-game violence and NOT hate, flaming, harassment, etc.
It's doubtful, Sallen. Notch has stated that he didn't plan to before.
What we're about is more along the lines of objecting to player run economies based on currency. Most of them are based on strict exchange rates and attempts to make gold have some kind of implicit value (aka Money) when it's useless and pretty at best.
We're about promoting bartering and active sharing without laws or obligations. Basically just being friendly with everyone in the group. We take these ideas, what we're for and against, and we adapt them to how we play, aggressively.
Well if you are ever interested in joining, our doors are more than open at all times.
And I should hope you don't become a capitalist, I would wish that on no man :biggrin.gif:
I see money as a way of keeping greedyguts in the cities from eating up all our food
Edit: actually come to think of it I don't think money is usefull in minecraft, but using terrorism would not be fun
Nothings wrong with it,Other than that you're trying to force your way on non commies.
Nah, just picking on them. We support their right to make the decision, we just also make our decision to pick on them. We're initiating a conflict of wills, but not maliciously or with the intent to control.
No worries, it's a legitimate question.
Dusk, if you choose to kill and rob us, we're not gonna preach to you about how that's wrong or something. That'd be wrong! We're just gonna strike back :biggrin.gif:
But hopefully we can work together. You guys don't smell like fascists to me :smile.gif:
I say we just sit outside of major cities, and watch them....
When the sun is going down, we sneak in, and steal all the torches, and let the monsters spawn.
