Remember, we are all Rangers, you are not required to spend full time doing just your Class, its just what you will be best at, and can be relied on to do if needed. Performing your Class admirably will earn you promotions higher in your rank.
Currently you can choose to Follow the Way of the Sword as a Frontiersmen, or the Way of the Stone as a Quarry Miner.
If you are not sure which Way to choose, then choose Pioneer, and choose after sampling both Ways, but be aware: Pioneers still need to get experience as the base class, yet will have greatly reduced requirements for serving as a Pioneer first. (this reduction in requirements is to both promote people choosing pioneers and to make up for the time they serve as such. Pioneers will be greatly needed, as jack-of-all-trades)
Cross classing "Ways" will be possible, if you can fulfill more than one Way, (max 2) post your main Way, then /second Way. When we promote cross classes, we will inform you that your secondary role (which could swap with primary during your course of play) is locked and cannot be promoted into from that point. I am currently in the process of designing a Camo-style uniform (that actually looks good) with full blending and special sub-models that have unique designs for the Class you are, and rank in that "Way".

Well, have we decided on any specifics yet? If you don't have a uniform yet for the group. I have some rather spiffy ones. Also, what should we refer to each other as? the MineCommies call each other commies, what do we say to each other in greeting?
Most of the specifics of the clan will be discussed more formally in game and on our future website ( I actually have one ready, just not spiffied out yet)
About the uniforms, I'm going to fiddle with the editor and make a few sets. I'd like to have a number of them closely related but easily identifiable per job-type. About fellowship greetings and such, I really haven't given that much thought, but probably something along the lines of "Fellow Ranger, (continue on with statement)". Feel free to give any input you would like.

As I stated in the first post about clans, if a clan proves themselves to be a trustworthy, dependable clan, chances are good a small agreement can be made to make trading agreements.
We do want to distinguish ourselves as a self reliant clan, so any trading would be limited by the occasion. In other words, times would be set up for trading. Anytime before and after that said time, trading would be viewed as a breach of trust. Any traders are more likely to be honest than a lone survivor wanderer, but that doesn't mean we will trust them. As stated for any intruders, warnings will be given to vacate the area, and a reminder that trading is not in session for potential traders. Then lethal force for those who don't heed our warnings.
I didn't state this in my first post so I'll put it here.
We warn out of courtesy, for the actual innocent wanderer. Many clans are going to be welcoming friendly hubs for people like that, and that's OK, we will direct then onward if some friendly settlements are nearby (if we have an agreement with said clan that is ok, first) otherwise just a serious warning to vacate the vicinity.
We kill violators out of safety. TOO many people have posted having groups or associations of contract killers, ninjas who kill for glory, and just plain robbing thieves and murderers. There just isn't going to be any way we can give violators leeway. we don't want our walls sapped ( 'd to death) or our players drown, laved, chopped, pincushioned, or otherwise slain. if there's gonna be a fight, its gonna be nasty for the guy who started it.
I know a lot of people will be wondering if we use our excuse to kill trespassers for loot. the answer will be no. If you are killed by our wall for failure to heed warnings, you will have a very (let me repeat) very short amount of time to gather your fallen items and make a direct retreat. If you died because of threat to our settlement or members, ya you can expect your stuff to be gone, don't bother asking for it back, be glad we don't hunt you down (unless you just are THAT bad, then expect that too)
Its all harsh and mean sounding, but for heaven's sakes, its SURVIVAL. the key is to survive, we helped you to that end warning you, help us by avoiding conflict.

A question though, is whether the larger trees are going to be included, the multi-block ones that is, these larger trees could make ideal camouflaged watch towers.
I don't know what notch has planned for the trees, I've read on his development blog he's thought about modifying the trees to include "branch" blocks, but other than that I can't tell you more.
sadly the only way will be to trade with other clans, and we hear good things about it. stay honest merchants to the rest of the clans and you may make a client out of us... maybe.
Unfortunately we don't make alliances with other clans, (note first post about our type of clan, and outlook on survival) However you can be sure anyone (including your members) who wander in will be asked nicely to leave the area. If they refuse to (purposely) we will kill them. if they are lost and seriously can't find their way out of our area, we will escort them to the border if necessary (hopefully not... its not hard to walk away from the structures and head toward the wild) That's all we can promise, although any wanderers looking for a home will be informed about our clan and directed to the clan's site (in construction). If they want a more public lifestyle we will be glad to refer them to the nearest hospitable settlement (if "said" settlement has agreed on that).
As I said that's all we can promise. We rely on ourselves as much as possible and trust no one farther than we can place a stone block... but we aren't pirates or bandits or any kind of negative clan like that, just very tight knit and distrustful of outsiders.

Uh well, non visible image. I don't know whether its just me. Anyways, I made the face shrouded in darkness to reduce the emphasis on the individual, rather, on the tribe as a whole. So I am somewhat against the Elite rangers having faces. As for the lower peons, I suppose the shrouds would "interfere" with day to day operations in the mines and such, I think all they should have for headware is a green sweatband. The Main body covered only by an undershirt. You know, with their jackets tied around their waists? Also, do you think I should have gone for a darker green? It seems likely infiltrators will attempt to trespass at night when colors are suitably muted, a very dark green would be a good camouflage.
And I just noticed some of the shading needs work on my model.
i would like to join, ill take any postion, but perfer mining and building, and if i may, i recomend similar bodys, with diffrent hats and head wear for the diffrent ranks, mabye a slight color change so people can be sneaky, and miners can be a bright color so if we lose lights(because of a flood) we can easly see each other, as in like a orange band, and the shoulders could be diffrent to represnt the ranks
