Given that there are not any good ways for 1st and 2nd Battalions to train as of yet, what should we use our time in doing? A Infdev kill house designed with multiple moving minecart targets, trenches, and obstacle courses might be a decent start. It's about the best we could make for a standardized training regiment. However, even though such a construction is possible making it and disseminating the file would be rather difficult.
Also, sorry to hear about that Dragoon. Don't worry, it gets better in a few days. Did they give you some of those heavy painkillers? Not something I like but when you've got some wisdom teeth out being groggy and whatnot is far preferable to pain.
The olympics was awesome, thanks to everyone that turned up in uniform! Also welcome back Haro, I remeber the runs I used to send you on. I am one evil *******.
I ask all members to read everything in this post. It is vitally important and will be key to achieving our goals and overcoming challenges.
The Goal of the RMM
When I first created the Royal Minecraft Militia, the goal was to one day be able to unite all clans and all servers as a neutral peace keeping force. Obviously, we can not keep the peace with out military ways as this has no effect on other users. The theme of the military was chosen as it would provide any members something to be proud of, it would seed discipline and respect.
Today I tweak this goal. I do wish to one day unite the clans of minecraft, however this dream can not be achieved with our current approach. Our influence is too small, our reach is only this forum and the several servers we are regulars to. I propose a new goal, this goal is to make the Royal Minecraft Militia great, we must be stronger then ever before. I hope that by changing several things in the current RMM we will be able to make the RMM prouder, larger and most importantly more recognised.
The Uniform Scheme
Long ago when the RMM was first started I declared that there would be no uniform, however this was a decision I regret. In the bid to make the RMM more standardized and recognizable I now introduce several uniforms that will be worn under certain conditions. You may not edit these uniforms, but may change the face. Members not in uniform will be warned and given time to change into the correct uniforms.
No. 1 Dress
This uniform is our most formal uniform and is used only under special circumstances. This uniform is to be worn during parades and special occasions when we must look our best. High Command will be required to wear this uniform all the time, unless actively in the field. At rare occasions you may be asked to wear it to important meetings with High Command. You will be told when to wear this uniform.
No. 2 Dress
This is the standard uniform that most be worn by all other members of the RMM. If you are in doubt, where this uniform.
Combat Dress
This outfit will be worn while in infdev servers and you are serving an active combat role, e.g the 1st or 2nd battalions. It carries no insignia and a camouflage pattern. You should only where this when told, as personally, it looks pretty silly.
In my opinion that's fine. That would make difference between heavy and light soldiers. Like in real life.
Oh my goodness, yes. Yes.
In other news, we actually do have an RMM map in Dysgalt's server (a map called RMM, derp), and it seems to be lacking contributions. Remember people, don't be shy. Feel free to add to the (mountain base) map.
first:One thing to be able to make a wee bit more sense of this: I’m for putting in new ‘specialist’ ranks.
second:i feel oddly awkward putting this up.. :/
Okay, so this is what this thing is: I like the organization and discipline, and I think it should be different for each battalion based on what they do. This is NOT anything official, as I definitely lack the rank to do anything along those lines. This is more of a big pack of suggestions as to how things could work, and I think also that it is just complicated enough to work, while being simple enough to generalize and understand. I hope I don’t make myself seem ‘holier than thou’ with this, but like I said, I think that each battalion should have something like this, to go along with IPope’s ‘general orders.’
3rd Engineer Battalion, RMM.
Peace through Prosperity
Commanding Officer: Major Shapeshiftr
The battalion that gives us a foothold, a beachhead, or a start point in both friendly and enemy territory. The men of the 3rd are skilled at quick, rough building, and can quickly get us the resources and materials we need to establish a presence anywhere. They can mine, farm, and gather lumber. They are organized, thoughtful men who know how to make a fort from anything. And when desperate measures are required, the 3rd can tear anything the enemy builds to the ground. This battalion is what fuels everything the RMM does with a steady supply of stone and steel, while still capable of beating a griefer to death with a hatchet.
edit: obviously, this part above is copied, but that's so theres a general description, and a good one at that.
Standards(?)
Specialists:
1.Teams
‘The battalion that gives us a foothold, a beachhead, or a start point’
The only specialist teams I can think of that are useful are the demolition squads. Read down in War:2 for more information on them. It would be up to the high leaders to decide where the ‘specialist’ rank would fit in, if at all. (the rank would apply to all battalions, but they’d have different kinds of specialists, if any.) There could also be different specialist ranks, to make specialist corporals, specialist sergeants, specialist lieutenants, etc. This would allow advancement to specialist, so veteran specialists could both keep the job they’re good at, and advance in the RMM.
Leadership:
1.Leaders
‘They are organized, thoughtful men’
There are a few ways this could be done, but I think the simplest and most effective one is this; every settlement has a leader appointed, based on who in the outpost/town/fort is highest ranked. (limited to the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Battalions, as the 1st would be unreliable to stay.)
2.Engineer leaders.
‘establish a presence anywhere’
These leaders are only leaders in the sense of what needs to be built first, how many, and of what. Again, the simplest and probably most effective way is just by the highest ranking (but this time limited to the 3rd Battalion) engineer.
War:
1. Fighting.
‘capable of beating a griefer to death with a hatchet.’
Because many engineers of the 3rd will be building on the front lines, they may be forced to carry a stone or, at least, a wooden sword. This is the Royal Minecraft Militia, after all. There’s not much else to say about that, as it’s mostly self explainable.
2. Demolition.
‘the 3rd can tear anything the enemy built to the ground.’
Personally, I don’t believe that this would be used in desperacy at all. Some ‘elite’ members of the 3rd could be trained more than the others of their battalion in the role of combat. These demolitioners could be an auxillary fighting force, or the first in.
Example: A demolitioner team could consist of: Team leader/Analyzer, Petard, and a Sapper. All would be capable of tearing apart buildings as well. The team leader/analyzer would have the obvious job of saying when and where to strike. The petard is the domolitioner of the group and uses tnt to the fullest of effect (with what training can be spared, since tnt is hard to acquire, he would have to learn block properties.), and a sapper would be the one who found the best way to infiltrate from the underground, and would be digging the passages for attack. All would be equipped with the necessary items for their roles, and all would have at least wooden picks, shovels, and axes. They could also equally build small defenses for the attackers to approach from, as any engineer (and most soldiers) could do.
3. Armor.
‘desperate measures’
Armor would most likely be leather, if anything at all. A wealthy member of the 3rd could possibly buy his own better armor if allowed, but otherwise (unless part of the demolition/specialist squads) they would just have their uniforms. (and maybe the wool armor they were issued, if so.)

I had a idea. Instead of being medals, the three dots oculd be identification:
Rank and colors:
Recruit: White
Lance Corporal: Light Grey
Lance Corporal 1st Class: Dark Grey
Corporal: Light Red
Sergeant: Orange
Drill Sergeant: Yellow
Color Sergeant: Dark Red
Master Sergeant: Darker Orange
Warrant Officer 2nd Class: Light Blue
Warrant Officer 1st Class: Dark Blue
Second Lieutenant: Teal
Lieutenant: Dark Teal
Captain: Light Green
Major: Brown
Lieutenant Colonel: Dark Green
Colonel: Magenta
Brigadier General: Light Purple
Major General: Whitish Blue
The second dot is the Batallion:
1st: Red
2nd: Dark Green
3rd: Light Grey
4th: Blue
And third could be fore squads, though it would depend on how many per batallion.
That sounds like a good idea. The rank symbols are simply too large to properly fit on the uniforms but having them there in some form would be quite interesting. However, I'd suggest that there be some sort of progression to the colors. Something like lighter to darker or something. I mean, "Light Blue" sounds quite similar to "Whitish Blue" but there's a world of difference between the Major General and a Warrant Officer.
Also, good to see you Sir. 1st hasn't been doing anything that I've been aware of.
iPope and LuciferZ, sirs! I request a full re-briefing on the current disposition of the RMM! I am also fully aware I may have to return to being an FNG once again due to my leave.
More casual talk: Lucifer, weren't you below me back when? And also, can we slightly alter uniforms? By that I mean, faces?

It's fine, actually: I normally fast a good deal on the weekends. The grumpiness is hard to notice when you're cooped up in a computer room all day.

A good point, but its hard to think up unique colors for that many ranks. If you have any suggestions, fire away.
Just wondering why black isn't a colour... plus, you could have two dots horizontally for rank.
