Welcome to the walls of the Imperium, citizen. We are a group inspired by the world of Warhammer 40K and we are looking for citizens and soldiers to join our growing empire. Members who become soldiers can expect to receive training modeled after real-life military training, participate in the defence of our settlements, fight with other factions as a unit and advance through our ranking structure, eventually commanding their own troops in the name of the Imperium of Mankind. Stylistically, the military is modeled after the Death Korps of Krieg. The military aspect of our group places an emphasis on teamwork, discipline, professionalism and camaraderie.
Citizens of the Imperium can live and roleplay their lives out on the gothic-victorian expanse of Holy Terra (Home hub server), or play as colonists in our other settlements while all united under a single banner. Citizens have the opportunity to advance into the Ecclesiarchy (The Church), the Nobility (regional governments) and many other organizations of the Imperium such as the Holy Order of the Emperor's Inquisition. In both the citizenry and the military, we are looking for people that are mature, capable of casual roleplaying and want to belong to something bigger than just a normal server-based Kingdom or faction.
THE LIFE OF A KORPS GUARDSMAN
To join the Korps, you must under go basic combat and guardsman training. This will be training structured off of the US Marine Corps. Advanced training includes CQC, Basic Patrolman, Basic Recon, Firearms, Squad Movement, Platoon Movements and Company level maneuvers.
Principles
- Teamwork, Integrity and Maturity - We want to foster camaraderie in the Korps whilst holding everyone to a standard of conduct. Everyone is expected to work as a team to accomplish a task, with respect for one another.
- Community - We want to have fun while fostering community development -- but know the difference between "fun" & "trolling".
- No Drama - Any foul behaviour and you can expect to be shown the door -- Toxic people will not be tolerated.
-Participation and Interaction - The more you put into the community, the more you will get back, and benefit the group experience immensely. That being said, we don't expect hardcore participation. Everyone has a life, and real life obligations before virtual ones.
- Reasoned tactics, procedures and techniques - Our goal when engaging in player versus player events is to maintain a high level of tactical gameplay but without tedium - we are a military-styled group after all.
- Competent, Motivated Leadership - Insofar as the Korps leadership goes, members given the opportunity to lead must strive to serve as role-models for the non-leading members, in establishing good decorum, conduct and competence. Don't be an imperious leader demanding loyalty or someone who just runs their mouth.
Combat Missions
The Korps will be deploying to various servers (Worlds) and tasked with "Crusades" whereby the command staff will give them objectives and conditions for victory. Other missions may include the defense of allied factions.
About the Command Staff
We are folks with real life military experience, with a passion for roleplaying and gaming. We wish to create a brotherhood of like minded gamers.
JOIN THE KORPS
If you are mature, interested in a gaming community, the military and military RP, sign up!
Upon joining, you will be given an interview. After which you will be taken to an intake platoon, given recruitment and mustering instructions. Notice: When playing with the Korps, you will be required to wear a uniform skin. No microphones required.
A typical Korps unit is a combined arms formation; consisting of 2 to 3 heavy weapons platoons, 1 kav scout section, logistics, a chaplaincy and a command staff. Attached at the behest of the Marshal Staff will be a political officer called a Kommissar — an individual tasked with keeping undue influence, and thoughts unbecoming out of the minds of the Guardsman, lest combat effectiveness be compromised.
To replenish the ranks of the Korps and ensure the attrition of manpower is kept at bay, the Korps sends recruiters to various towns and their taverns in search of individuals seeking a new life, or folks looking to break out of their routine — so long as they will be faithful to the Virtori. If the recruiter is silver-tongued enough, and offer is appealing enough to the potential recruit, they will sign a contract willing their life away, be given directions and ordered to muster in the seaside town of Ostdorf for training. Whereby that traveled civilian will undergo rigorous infantry training in order to earn the title of Guardsman. Upon the completion of their training and their former life well behind them at this point, the guardsman is placed into a weapons platoon of similarly wide-eyed fresh Guardsmen, and battle weary veterans. They will be handed either a new sword if lucky, or a refurbished sword of their replacee. The Guardsman will spend a great deal of time in that platoon, getting to know the stench and idiosyncrasies of their fellow warfighters. After a period of service, some choose to specialize in a certain trade, most after a few wars decide to retire back to their old lives — their comrades wishing them a peaceful life.
The truly dedicated, or insane, or just Guardsmen whose life is now overwhelmingly characterized by the brutal violence of war choose to advance in the ranks of the Senior Enlisted. Those who survive in the Senior Enlisted and show great leadership are drafted into the ranks of the Officer Korps, where now they will assume a command position — now lending to their unit their wealth of knowledge and experience. Command positions in the Korps range from Platoon Leader, to Kompanie Kommandant to the ranks of the Marshalcy. Some special postings may be as Warmaster to a Crusade. All bearing great responsibilities.
Now rising through the ranks from warfighter to leader of warriors may be the common path a Guardsman takes. But recruits during their induction showing zeal and a special penchant for being generally smarter than your average grunt (which is not a high bar) may elect to pursue a career in the Kommissariat. A Political Officer. They are officers tasked with maintaining loyalty and faith, particularly faith to the Virtori. Should any heresy be whispered among the ranks of the Korps, a Kommissar will attempt to surgically stop it — usually by just killing the suspected heretic. Kommissars in the Korps have additional duties, where the Officer Korps usually lacks in social tact due to their decade of war, the Kommissars conducts diplomacy on their behalf, usually with local towns and their mayors to secure information and provisions. The Kommissariats last and unique duty is to work with the Kav Scout in the job of IPB — Intelligence Preparations of the Battlefield.
Kommissars will be the masters of human intelligence gathering to assist the Officer Korps in their tactical and strategic decision making.
In the warfighting units of the Korps, religious figures called Battle Chaplains may be found delivering sermons in the camps, barracks and even before and during a battle to the grunts and saying prayers to the dying. They serve as spiritual leaders in garrison and on the field. In the Korps doctrine, chaplains are expected to work with the Kommissar in rooting out any heresy among the ranks though the rate in which this is done is called into question, as some chaplains disapprove in the enforcement procedures of the Kommissariat.
