Hello, today while playing on my single player world I found out a new a way to display torches. I am sorry if this technique is commonly known among people. I however, did not know that you could display torches like this so I figured I'd share this with all of you.
What it looks like:
For those of you who are scratching your head wondering how you do that, I have put together a little tutorial on how to do so.
Step 1 : Place an item frame.
Step 2: Place a trap door within the item frame.
Step 3: Place a torch above the item frame.
Step 4: While looking at the bottom section of the torch above the item frame place another torch.
Step 5: Remove the top torch.
Once step 5 is completed you're all done! As you can see it really isn't hard at all to make.
I have done some searching with other blocks besides the trap door that would look nice. I have yet to find anything. If you find anything please tell me!
If this helped you at all please up vote this topic! And please comment what you think!
EDIT: An easier way to make this is to place a torch then simply place the item frame behind it.

There's an easier way to do this, you can place the torch first, place the item frame on the block that the torch is also on, and then place the item in the frame You don't have to place the frame first and then put the torch above and whatnot, you can just place the frame directly behind the torch as long as you're putting the frame on the block, not the torch itself :DAlso, to add to my previous comment, smooth stone slabs also look really good as torch holders, as well as stone brick slabs, cobble slabs, etc

I was about to say pretty much all of this. Torch goes first and other stuff also works. Try cobblestone walls and then right click the item frame to tilt it.

Yeah I agree with you, it would look better without the frame. Unfortunately, I don't think there is a possible way to do this without the frame.
