Detailed Tutorial Done By Knowonewho! Make sure to go give him some love on both parts! Sub and make sure he feels appreciated xD
Thumbs Up! Part 1: Part 2:
Materials:
These materials will finish, the house, NOT the interior.
3 Stacks of Wooden Stairs
6 1/2 Stacks of Wooden Planks
40 Dark-wood Logs
3 1/2 Stacks of Cobblestone
10 Ladders
2 Trapdoors
2 Stacks of Glass
1/2 Stack of Wooden Slabs
1 Wooden Door
Step 1:
Clear out an 11x11 area and dig 3 down. This will form the basement of your house.
Step 2:
Fill in the bottom of the hole, and walls with cobblestone. This is the only time you will be using your cobblestone.
Step 3:
Put a layer of wooden planks ON TOP of the basement, with dark-wood logs in each corner, and on the middle of each side except for 1 side in which will be the door. This will be the floor for your first story.
Step 4:
The next step is to start the walls. Put another dark-wood log in each corner and the middle of each side, and fill in the sides with wooden planks. Make sure to leave 1 space where you want to put your door on the middle of one side.
Step 5:
Next, put the dark-wood logs in each corner and sides (again) and instead of filling in the sides with wooden planks, fill in the sides with glass.
Step 6:
Follow step 5 for this level except to fill in the 1 space where the door is with wooden planks.
Step 7:
For this level, basically, make a ceiling out of wooden planks and add wooden stairs on the outside of the roof of the first story. This will start the roof. Make sure NOT to do the corners for the stairs as you will fill these in with wooden slabs later.
Step 8:
Add another layer of stairs, but move each side towards the center of the house once, also make sure to move the corners inwards. Do not bother filling the inner part as you will just be wasting wood.
Step 9:
Repeat step 8, but this time, make sure you fill in the inner part as it will be the first floor of your second story.
Step 10:
Now for this level, put a dark-wood log in each corner, NOT sides, and fill in in-between the logs with glass.
Step 11:
Repeat step 10 for this layer.
Step 12:
Now add a wooden roof, and add stairs on the outer sides just like in step 7.
Step 13:
Repeat step 8.
Step 14:
Repeat step 8.
Step 15:
Repeat step 8. This is the last layer of stairs.
Step 16:
Put a wooden slab in the middle of the last 4 stairs on the very top.
Step 17:
Now put wooden slab in the corners of all the stairs. Do this on all 4 corners. The roof is now complete.
Step 18:
Now for the front porch. Put 3 wooden planks in front of the door and surround the wooden plank with wooden slabs. Then, add the front door. This is is the final step for the entire exterior.
The following will include some of the important things for the interior, but not all of it.
Step 19:
Add the pillar exactly as shown.
Step 20:
Now dig a hole going up to the second story right in front of the pillar, then add the ladders going up. Make sure to put a trap-door at the top. NOTE: To place a trap-door, there must be a block next to where it is places, basically, where the hinges on a normal trap-door would go.
Step 21:
Now on the other side under the pillar, dig a hole to your basement going down. Then place the ladders going down and a trap-door to finish it off.

-The bed is really weird on Doku-Craft, I don't know what is wrong with it :tongue.gif:
-And to make the "couches/sofas" just place stairs and put signs on the sides of it creating the couch :biggrin.gif:

Try downloading the latest version of DokuCraft to fix the bed. The bed textures were moved slightly with the release of 1.7. You're probably missing piston textures as well.
What kind of new buildings would you all like to see? I was thinking about making a tutorial that could help people build mountainside bases, that would also be flexible so that it could work anywhere. Let me know what you think.
This is interesting. The house is great, but what I'm more interested in is seeing more tutorials like this, with the level of depth and step-by-step building used here. It would be nice if all of us as builders pooled our knowledge and eventually we had a gigantic repository of tutorials for inspiration.

I've always been this way. A patched-up, crazy matryoshka.
I am loving this house. I will definately use it in my world. I would LOVE to see a tutorial on mountanside bases, as I think houses look better when they are in a mountainside. You do have talent with this kind of thing.
