I know this tends to be a common problem, but all of the posts I have found have been about resource packs that the user has made or the problem turns out to be a fake/outdated resource packs. I know that I have not made this resource pack, I know its not fake or outdated, mainly because it is direct from the creator and it is one of the most famous resource packs ever, Isabella II. I loved Isabella and now that I'm returning to resource packs I thought I'd give it a try. I've installed 2 other resource packs and they both work, the game has been restarted about 4 times since I've put the folder into the resource pack folder. Could someone help me or direct me to a relevant post? If it helps, I'm on Mac.

Unless there's a newer version than what's available in the Isabella II forum thread, the pack itself is outdated which is why it won't install properly.

Ok, I'll have to try that. Thanks.

Try what? I just told you that your problem is that the pack is outdated, which is why it won't work. I didn't point you to that thread to get a newer version, I pointed to that thread to make mention that the newest version won't work with the current versions of Minecraft.
If you want something to try, use MCPatcher's converter to change it from the 1.5 format to the 1.6 format. Just be aware that certain things like the horse jump bar won't work, and obviously anything added to Minecraft post-1.5 will still be default.
I believe I have a similar problem. I'm making a resource pack and I put the assets folder from the version jar into a zip file. I edited a few textures and tried to use them ingame, but the resource pack didn't show up when I tried to go and change it.
Ah, silly me. I didn't include the pack.mcmeta file.
