Hello again. When thinking about my Texture Pack I realized thinking how many different types of ladders there are. Some texture packs have modern ladders, some have wood planks, but some have rope ladders, so that's what I decided to use. I've finished the first copy of it and I think that it's a pretty good start. It's the color of rope, but isn't over powering, but that's just my opinion, I wanted to know how you guys, the community, like it. Here are some pics. Constructive criticism is ALWAYS appreciated.

As you can see, I added more shading so that the shading is visible from a farther distance. And (thanks to Proloe) I made the rope less wavy. Now it looks like gravity actually pertains to Minecraft! (Which it doesn't...mostly) Thanks for all the advice! Does it need any more work?
Aside from the shading issue, the ropes are actually a little too windy. If you have a rope ladder in real life, the ropes will fall to the most stable position, which, under gravity, will have the ropes straight (though not necessarily vertical). They will not bunch up between the rungs unless there is another, more stable form of support. To make a rope ladder, you'd be better off making the ropes themselves almost, if not entirely, straight, and shading the twine of the rope. Rope is not a single fibre, it is made up of multiple fibres intertwined, which is why it is structurally strong. You'd be better off showing this.
Only thing left to do is add a little shading to define the rope fibres. You know, how ropes are sort of coiled around themselves? a little diagonal shading along each rope and you're done.
I really like the idea of rope ladders. Also, the whole science thing can be really good to consider, however, (and obviously) if your pack is supposed to be whimsical you can always disregard science [:

Yes I am. Sorry if all the questions are annoying or something, I just want to make sure that people like the textures before I release them.
The idea, that is, not your textures :smile.gif:

You're more likely to get better textures if you consider how they work in reality.
Nah, only kidding. It can be a lot of work sometimes.
