Villager changing/editing mods for 1.8+ will probably wait until forge fixes the villager registry (there was a PR submitted for this last year, not sure why it hasn't been accepted/rejected).
Currently there is no forge-friendly way to do anything with changing vanilla villagers, at least as far as trades are concerned, so any mod that does will probably not be compatible with other mods when forge does get around to fixing it.
for changing AI however, that should be doable in 1.8+.
To get the mobs, install the resource pack on the github, or use the Pokécube Mobs mod below.

I'm fine without the trades but i am more leaning towards the bulding
in which case, you probably might want to wait for http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/mapping-and-modding/minecraft-mods/2162777-helpful-villagers-v1-4-0-beta-builders-and-more-on to update, not sure when it will though.
