I've got a great idea for a mod, but I'm a modding moron. Would someone like to give it a shot? I'd love to play this, if it ever happens. The mod is a bit Advent of Ascension, and a bit Orespawn.
Idea for a new mod: Librarian
New overworld structures: Library, Library Ruins, House Ruins, Bunker (inhabited), Lighthouse.
All structures contain at least one bookshelf.
Block tweak: Add shelved container Gui to bookshelf with random book type loot. Disable bookshelf recipe, or only allow empty crafts.
The basics of the mod allow Steve to wander the world, scouring ruins and old libraries for books. He might find many books on many subjects (fan written, or public domain. You might even hook up with the maker of LostBooks mod.). He might just find empty papers, leather binding, string, ink, feathers, or blank books. His great finds will be Lost Chapters. In sets of 4+, Lost Chapters of specific books, can be combined with string and leather to create Delving Novels (like Mystcraft Description Books). You can't read these books, you must experience them, first hand. Clicking the picture on Page 1 will send you into the book.
New Dimensions: Neverland, Wonderland, Oz, Fantasia (Neverending Story), Narnia, etc...
Dispite all of the mods with dimensions, no one has ever really gone into the old stories. The closest I've seen is the Lion King mod, but that was just one dimension. With this mod, you can create a library of their own, complete with shelves of stories written by users, and lecterns holding Delving Novels. Each world, of course, will have different mobs (like Card Soldiers from Wonderland), and items (Like Wardrobes with pocket dimensions inside, and Ruby Slippers to teleport home), and of course, very different biomes, and nature.
Let me know if you are interested. I've got so many ideas for it, and zero skill in modding.
