Hello! I already posted this request but as noone answers and I requested two implementations of different ideas I try to post it again and make my point more clearly.
Here's the idea:
It would be great if someone could make blocks that are based on sand/gravel, stone, glass and glowstone but with some default colors and without a texture, I mean like a blank white, a pure red, a pure black, ... block for each of the base-blocks. (So that, if you have 16 colors and these 4 block-types the mod would add 64 new blocks.)
I think there are many minecraft-player out there who would appreciate such mod, because...
...it terminates the necessity to use a specific texture pack or change an existing one.
...you could use all the blocks default minecraft (and other mods) offer without have to forgo the block you retextured.
(I personally need these blocks because of the mentioned advantages.)
If you also like the idea please answer the poll and if you're modder please create this mod. (I mean, it's probably not that difficult to create it and would be done in 5-20min by an expert or it would be a good practice for beginners. :P)
Do you have an example image of what you want the block to look like? I'm a bit confused.
I added an image to the attachments so that you can see what I mean. (Please excuse the lighting, I just grabbed a screenshot and painted a bit.)
So you see: There is a block in only 1 color for every wool-block.
Basically, as the colors of the wool blocks are the most used, you could say that the colors of the wool blocks (without the wool-texture (you know what I mean?)) are what is to do here.
Would this be for 1.7.10 or 1.8? I could *probably* do 1.8 but for sure I could do 1.7.10
It would be good if it would be in made in 1.8 and - as soon as 1.9 is released - made in 1.9. (I would appreciate if it would work for every version until now as I want to use it for redstone-porpuses so it should be up-to-date.)
That's a pretty good mod to start with. You only said that there is nether a monochrome-type-block like sand/gravel and glass but I have also difficulties to find one that emits light. Are these blocks already in the mod?
Can I also use it in 1.8? (I'm sorry I never modded anything before so I tend to ask amateur-questions.)

Colored glowstone is in there. As for the Sand/Gravel, I suppose I could maybe add it in right now. I don't have much interest in adding glass but you could try the glow blocks as an alternative And regarding 1.8, no. I have no plans to bring it to 1.8 any time soon.
Edit: It turns out right now won't be happening due to the fact that something happened to my wrist and it's in quite a bit of pain right now. I guess I'll have to finish tomorrow.

So, sadly, I can't use it in 1.8?
That is only for the coloured glass mod. But in 1.8, you have stained glass, and as far as I know, not many mods are available for 1.8 considering the coding is "Different" as what I heard. Best bet is to use 1.7.10, because you have a lot of good mods to use in that Minecraft version, and if you'd like coloured wood, or stone, Monoblocks is my best bet for the mod, or you could also look around on the net.

Oh yeah, sorry, I didn't see it because I was looking for monochromatic and not just tinted glowstone blocks. (Well this problem is best to be solved bya texturepack in my case.)
As I don't have the knowledge I want to ask: Is it somehow difficult to port a mod from 1.7 to 1.8? Are there many differences? Or is it that it would be a lot to write as the mod would have to be rewritten completely?

Due to the major update with redstone and commands I'd rather use 1.8. Unfortunately I don't really have a choice there as the only reason why I need these blocks is redstone-related.
Yes, Gravel/Sand + Stone + Glowstone + Glass (the full-blocks) in all the colors of the wool-blocks http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Wool or the glass-blocks http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Cyan_Stained_Glass (They look pretty much the same except for the opacity and the texture. As already shown in the attached image the blocks should have no texture but just one color.).
#EDIT 07-20-2015: Could you please do it like this: No step-sound for these blocks and as hard to break as bedbrock?
Yes, I really meant bedrock as I only intend to use it in creative mode but to make this mod useful for other people you could also make it breakable like stone or wool and resistant to explosions like bedrock. (Obsidian is resistant to explosion too, isn't it?)
As other people should be able to use this in survival for now on: How about this recepie: 4 Dyeing-Items + 1 Obsidian or + 1 Smooth-Stone
Oh and one more thing I would you like to make: [Sry, I forgot that point. As soon as I remember I'll edit this post again. ]
For me it does not make much sense that you want 64 blocks cause 4of them are always looking same ^^
(BlueStone looks like Blue Gravel etc.)
The normal blocks are meant for static walls, ceilings and floors.
The glass-blocks are meant for ceiling to make the colored in one color but with the possibility to let light shine in the room.
The glowstone-blocks are meant to enlight areas without changing enabling the player to see any difference to the normal monochrome blocks.
The physic-dependent-blocks are meant to make it easier for people who don't want to or simply can't use commands and commandblocks. For example: They can visibly and progressively build walls by letting the blocks drop like a curtain.
You see there is a usage for every of these blocks. (Sorry that they are so many. ;-) )
Here's another special block that might be of use:
Could you make a block that is like a combination of the glowstone-block, the air-block (which is technically no block) and the barrier-block?
I think of a light source (like the glowsstone) you can go through and that you can't aim for (like air). It's also invisible unless you are in gamemode 1 or 3, then it should be displayed as a sprite (like the barrier).
Edit: MCreator is crap ... Just destoryed my Workspace of Eclipse thx ^^
Lol, sorry xD
And yeah, MCcreator is crappy. The only moment I'll like it is for mods like these, where you don't need anything special. It's just ablock with a texture!
Yeah, no problem then. I once thought of a "lava window", where it'd be a glass block with lava inside. Ofc instead of learning all the modding I'd just grab MCcreator as it's gonna be simple anyways xD
The new block, let's call him "lighting block" in this thread, is currently not passable and a player can aim for it and destroy it so that it becomes air?
I have an idea: Why don't you look up how the web-block works? Or what about the sugar-cane-block? It should not be a problem to change the passability.
As this block is so powerful I think it isn't necessary to make it available in gamemode 0 so a player may place it via setblock-, fill- or clone-command. Apart from that: It is possible to place it next to a solid block like stone? Players could just construct something to place the lighting block next attached to the construction and then destroy the construction.
Or did you mean it isn't possible to play any block there after the lighting block is destroyed? (Well I have no idea how it is possible to change that bug.)

Ok i understand that now, but what did you mean by the 4 types? Did you just want a type that would also fall as well?
http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/mapping-and-modding/minecraft-mods/2236322-goldensilver853s-mod-hub-official-home-of See Monoblocks. However I will note that there is no colored sand/gravel or glass.

You are now breathing manually.
From 1.7+, there is stained glass.
This is this mod for glass, but it is a Forge 1.6.4 mod. Since 1.7, those sort of coloured glass mods has stopped.
I am in your dreams, haunting you!
Can I have that 85%?
Yes, I just need one really solid block, one that obeys gravity, one that let's light through and one that enlights its surroundings.
That's a pretty good mod to start with. You only said that there is nether a monochrome-type-block like sand/gravel and glass but I have also difficulties to find one that emits light. Are these blocks already in the mod?
