I was thinking of smelting fish in a furnace and thought, perhaps, it was a better idea to make an oven specifically for food. I know there have been a few in the past, like MrCrayfish's oven. I have a better idea.
Basically, the idea is a mod dedicated to a two-block-wide oven (like the Mystcraft writing desk) that opens like a flipped chest. You can power it with simple redstone (What? It's electric!). You'd only be able to cook food in it, and nothing else.
Here's what makes it a bit more unique; You'd have a specific cooking time, whether you are cooking one steak or 64, set to a specific temperature. You can add things like steak and mushrooms, and end up with something like Mushroom Sauteed Steak, a much heartier meal, without the use of a crafting table, unless you wish to cut up the mushrooms If you have too much beef, it will just come out as cooked steak, or too many mushrooms will just be cooked mushrooms.
I'd say that there should be about 4 inventory slots, 2 (for each ingredient) of 2 (most ovens have 2 racks). Since most gamers have ADD, I'd say that no food can ever be completely spoiled, but burnt items should feed you less or something to that effect.

Betterthanwolves? I have no idea, I've never, ever gotten that mod to run.
I wish I could write this one myself, but I have no artistic ability (I can't draw a straight line with a ruler), and I can't code in Java. I've tried a bunch of times, and failed quite shamefully.
