it is saying block placed..... but when i go to the chest the chest has rotated and there is no stone in it........ so i don't get it....
maybe im doing something wrong here?
i really need help
i have 4 testfor commands going.... and i need each one of them to place a stone in a chest. when 4 stone is placed then it activates.
that way there must be a dragon egg, a gem, and two lit redstone lamps in order for my machine to activate.....
like all 4 testfor commands have to be met before anything happens.... this is the goal here.
i figured if i couldnt set the item directly in the chest i could put a hopper on the top of it and have the items fall into the hopper.
but i do not know how to set an item....
like items i would get with /give..... i need to set them :| ..... somehow. i about need to bash my head into the keyboard...... this is almost frustrating.
well it works... but not how i need it to. maybe i will do something with setting redstone blocks and having them power droppers.
i will be able to use the above command to keep the droppers full though. which is nice.
so thats cool. i should be able to get it to work....
i know that the piston method didnt work because some of the items when pushed actually went behind the piston and did not get pushed into the water infront of it.... so thats not reliable at all.
If you mean you want to summon an item, then you could use this command:
/summon Item ~ ~1 ~ {Item:{id:ice,Count:1}}
Hope this was what you were looking for.
this is a very neat command .... hmmm puzzling almost.
anyway to make the item permanantly exist without having to kill it?
and can you make it fall like 5 spaces into a hopper.....
this is very neat though, i'll have to check this out with a snowball or an arrow.
i could possibly do some kind of 3d firecharge with summon and tp on the tip of an arrow.... hmmm

Yes, you can make it permanently exist, with this command:
any kind of example command would be nice
like a diamond.... emerald etc.....
im also looking for a way to set an item in a chest....
/setblock -752 61 324 minecraft:chest 0 {Items:[{id:"minecraft:stone",Count:1b}]}

/setblock's syntax:
You are missing the replacement method, which defaults to 'replace':

ok.... that replaces the chest with a chest with one stone in it.
but if i run the command with the 4 testfor commands.
what ends up happening is that there is only 1 stone in the chest and not 4.
/setblock -752 61 324 minecraft:chest 0 replace {Items:[{id:"minecraft:stone",Count:1b}]}
so this doesnt work....
