I'm running a W7 based system, 3.8 GHz i7, 8 GB RAM.
My MC is used to running at 85-95 fps (after I allocated about 3GB of memory to java with a batch file), but ever since the minecraftdev.exe release, I can only get about 10-15 fps. I've been running the old version of my MC (1.5.1), with no problems.
When I run MC using minecraftdev.exe (I know it's in its very early stages...), my debug screen shows a memory max of 910 MB, is there any way to boost this limit up? I don't see anywhere in the program to change it.
The only reason I'm even using the new launcher is because I'm trying to find horses, as I believe they won't really be available until 1.6, but can be found in the snapshots. Please correct me if I'm wrong in this assumption.
I'm running vanilla, completely unmodded. I do use Sphax's PureBDCraft & Glimmar's Steampunk texpacks. I'm also running waterfox, as my comp is 64-bit based.

Anyway, any help would be appreciated.
