FINALLY! After three new worlds created, and several hours of playing, I found what looks like a decent village... but oddly enough, that looks like 3 temples out there. These guys must be pretty religious.
How have your guys' villages been since the update? So far most 1.18 villages are totally broken apart.
why did you have to create three new worlds? just curious.
The first world was an ocean dominant one, so for a caves and cliffs update that's largely oriented around cavern networks and mountains, it seemed like a pretty crap world for the new content. The second one was almost entirely mountainous, which just destroyed any village generation I came across and made it very difficult to find any spots to plant down and set up and base without a massive amount of teraforming involved. I did it for a while before I was like, "you know, I think maybe I need to roll this one more time to see if I can get some balance". So I did and the third time was the charm. I managed to get myself out of the mountains (after a major hall of surface iron the likes of which I have never seen before, and even some emeralds just out in the open) and down into some grove area full of flowers and oak/birch trees before breaking through into some flat plains near the coast, which was perfect! Even had that little village out in the distance that wasn't completely busted up by holes, ravines and hills. So that's why there was a couple of worlds generated, to make sure things were actually going to mesh well and allow me to get the new content and a decent setup to explore it.
i like using creative to scope out the terrain sometimes. is your world java or bedrock? i am playing the 1.18 java world now. don't have any villages yet but with my creative look at the world there is a woodland mansion to explore. i think i need a lot of diamond armor and diamond weapons before i enter it...
