I'm pretty annoyed right now after having spent the past hour trying to get Minecraft to load for the first time so I apologize in advance if I start ranting.
I bought minecraft today after having watched a friend play it for a while... But lo-and-behold I cannot run it, either from the download OR the browser version. On the browser version, it downloads all the files, gets to the point where it says that the loading is complete, but stops just short of the end. On the offline downloaded version, it simply goes to a black screen (and when trying it offline, it just says cannot connect to minecraft.net)
I have deleted the .bin folder and retried it multiple times.
I have deleted the entire .minecraft folder and retried it multiple times.
I have tried using an older .exe file.
I have logged into my account on my friend's computer successfully, copied the entire .minecraft folder from his computer and tried it on mine. Again, on the browser the loading bar stops just short of full and the offline version goes to a black screen.
I have fully updated both Java and my graphics drivers.
I'm running windows 7 64bit on an Intel I5, with 4gb of RAM. Can provide system details if required.
Someone please provide me with some sort of fix for this... I'm almost to the stage of asking for a refund.
Sorry to have to bump this but I'm pretty pissed off now.
I've also completely uninstalled both firefox, chrome and Java, then CCleaned absolutely everything, deleted the entire .minecraft folder and then done a complete reinstall of it... again, no luck.
Firewall does not affect it either.
Pleaaase help.
The most stupid thing is that this is a brand new PC, I only installed Windows on it last week and we have TWO identical setups of this PC in our house (mine and my boyfriend's), all with the same drivers, and same programs... yet I installed it PERFECTLY on his computer, but mine won't run it!
Still need help please!! Have re-updated all drivers (even though they're all up to date anyway)
I know you're not meant to bump, but when this thread moves to the 2nd page in under an hour and I don't get any responses, bumping kinda is necessary! I want to be able to play the damn game I've paid for!
