You may add to this list of you'd like, but be sure to include a reasoning behind it with a coherent argument.
1) Spelling and grammar:
I understand that the internet is not a place for people to pay attention to minute details in spelling and grammar, but when it comes to topic posts, TAKE THE TIME TO PROOFREAD! Your post should represent you and what you stand for, so why would you make yourself seem like a 3-year-old spullzing lice thiz (spelling like this)? Be professional when you share your thoughts. I can't tell you how many times I've seen people post incomprehensible gibberish on these forums simply because they don't give a crap about how they spell. Proofreading and proper English on an English forum reflects well. Laziness does not.
I hope this quote I made after the fact can clear up some confusion about my opinion on the matter of spelling and grammar:
I wasn't suggesting anyone had to be perfect in spelling/grammar. The point I was trying to get across is that forum posts are an expression of one's opinion, so why, if one has had a complete eduction (which many people on these forums have not seeing as many of them are still quite young), would anyone hinder the strength of their opinion with silly mistakes? I would never call anyone out if they make a few spelling errors, but if the post is illegible when the author is fully capable of knowing better, I think that's somewhat inexcusable.
2) Posting downloadable content without providing pictures.
As the famous phrase goes: "no pics, no clicks!" It simply does not make sense why anyone would advertise a texturepack or mod (s)he made without providing an example of the product in action. It makes the downloader more assured that the link will not give him/her a virus and increases people's aptness to download it in general, making the texturepack/mod more popular.
3) Improper formatting
I'm sure you've all seen it before. You find a post you think might be interesting. You click on the link. The page loads, but the post is indecipherable because some of the text is on the right side of the screen while some of it is on the left. You see random, broken BBCode tags strewn about like a bomb went off on the internet, and for some reason, every other line is in size 48 font. If you are writing a relatively long post with lots of formatting, please do the world a favor and click "Preview Post" before you commit.
I may add more as I think of them. What do you guys think? Do you agree with these "issues," or do you think they are irrational?
Sure, they bug me, but I'm so used to it that it doesn't matter anymore. Some people are either too lazy to write/structure things properly and some simply aren't too good at English for whatever reason, it doesn't really annoy me as such. So long as I can make sense out of it, I'm fine.
I hate to be the one to say this (I don't really, I'm just being polite), but...
laziness*
Haha whoops :L
That's embarrassing. I knew the first thing people would do after I posted this was correct my spelling/grammar :), but I felt as though I still had to post it because I don't think I've run into a single good forum post in the past month.
Some forum users might not know how to insert pictures onto the forums and as such, may not provide pictures/screenshots of their texture pack, mod or map.
Also, if spelling or grammar does bother you, you do have to understand that children play Minecraft too. As a result of this, we have users as young as 6 browsing through the forums and their spelling or grammar might not be the best.
Lastly, about improper formatting, it isn't actually a issue as it rarely happens.
In long terms, you can't expect everyone to be that much an omniscient being. Sometimes they miss one of the codes and not realizing that they just leave the thread with that broken code until someone pointed it out, or when they accidentally misspell something and they didn't realize that as well. There are times when grammar and spellings are still tolerable, but up until a point where it starts to get unreadable. Other than that, I don't complain about them that much.
I know you can easily attack me with "Well people need to read everything about the forum first, there's the FAQ!", but remember: some people prefer to jump into a game's action and figure out things by their own rather than reading the guidebooks first.

I'm leaving the forum, if anyone cared. You can find me on OC or FFR.

Hehe, the irony was just too delicious for me to pass up.
Plus, as someone pointing out the issues in other people's spelling and grammar, I knew you would be fair with corrections on your own post.
OT: I feel the exact same way.

People filling their posts up with BBcode. My God that's disgusting... It's real heavy over in RP where OPs fill their opening post with nonsense formatting, writing everything in excessive sized, terrible fonts, and a million colors in the rainbow. It's about as bad as Comic Sans by itself.

Takes me back to one of my 'friend' who acts like complete child, but in reality he's 20 something. We're off to our own ways now though.
I guess some people are just a bit more ignorant than others do. However, this goes back to individual's traits and situations. Maybe they were just in a hurry and forgot about it later on, or maybe they just think it already has correct spelling/grammar...dunno.

I'd say it's this general teen mind where chopping off a few letters/punctuation per word apparently saves soooo much time. e.g you = u, are = r, why = y, I'm = im... etc.

Haha you summarized that perfectly! Ah the days when I used to think Comic Sans was a good font...

You have no way of knowing if the author is fully capable of 'knowing better', so you cannot formulate an opinion of a user over the internet, can you?

If you can't strive for perfection, what can you strive for?
The Commies count their quarters and the ArtSci wish they could, the Engs have the longest pole and slam it home for good, so big, so hard, so tall, it reaches all the way to heaven, so shut your hole, we climbed the pole, we're sci 1 ing 7!!!
I dont mind so much for the spelling/grammar, as long as it is spelled correctly or to where you know what it is. Like "Wat is ur texture pack", Im fine with that for the "Wat" and "ur", or if I you dont capitalize i's or if you do not do the apstrophe like "dont" instead of "don't". As for the other two things I completely agree.
- Spelling and grammar. Barring learning difficulties, language is something we use everyday, especially with the advent of the internet. Not learning the difference between you and you're, there their and they're, shows nothing beyond laziness.
- Signing posts. Your name and avatar is right next to the post, it isn't 1992 anymore. Its just redundant clutter.

We all have our pet peeves, it just gets annoying when people don't even try to type somewhat decently.
(If English isn't your first language, that's OK.)
But 2 and 3 have no excuses, I agree with you on that.

"Your an idiot". Well done :/
I don't get why there's so much hate for comic sans...I love it, it's a break from Arial/Times New Roman on every site ever. >.<
