Like and share if you agree and want to save african kids.
Ignore if you want to get raped by Satan.
Eh, that's like one in a million. it's mostly STOP KONY! OMFG THAT GUY KILLED A BUNCH OF KIDS IN CONNECTICUT!!!! GUNS AND VIDEO GAMES SHOULD BE BANNED RAGHAHDHAHAHDKDA!!!!!!!!!!!
Realistically, I see it as you not liking Facebook but others finding a use for it in their lives. Each to their own my friend. The sooner that is something you take onboard, the better.
One note however. "inhumanity" Probably shouldn't be a word used for the use of Facebook...
"Can't very well use magic when your wand is out of bullets." - Homestuck
“If, by some strange coincidence, a hundred sharp pencils I was carrying embedded themselves in a third-party, would that be an accidental death?” - Nisemonogatari
No, this is hasty-generalization. You cannot base an entire community of more than 200 million people based on your own subjective experience of Facebook.
It would be as if I were stuck in a park because there were people surronding me, interacting with each other. And then I come, stating that this is a property of the park, rather than something which develops because of the culture that is introduced in these current circumstances.
You are only introducing empty, inconclusive arguments that build on the other party's ignorance, preventing them from understanding that your argument is of practical, normative substance.
Look at the Wikipedia article. it's so cute how you think that Wikipedia (I don't say wiki, someone made an argument against both terms and I'm too lazy to retype) solves everything. My arguments are not empty and inconclusive because I read articles and guess what? They have facebook comments below. Shocker.
And that is a pathetic argument to rationalize keeping your Facebook.

I don't even use Facebook, besides having a throwaway account I used for the Steam Summer and Winter events. Even if I did have a real Facebook account, I wouldn't stop using it because of your pathetic excuses.

I'll talk to you again when you can come up with a better counter argument. You're no better than those in the other forums that suggest "I use a mod" or "if you don't like an update, just don't use it."
Terrible rhetoric, the usage of ad honiem to try to simplify the situation in pure line of ignorance.
It is indeed, Wikipedia. Not "wiki", as that would be in the same stand as calling a certain carbonated drink, the definitive presentative
of carbonated drinks with the flavor of cola.
What you are stating is in same the simpleness of; I have read the evidence, so I have not commited the crime.
It is neither relevant or contributing to your argument. You have not concluded anything with your statement, but rather you
have taken your premises as objective and when they are deconstructed, shattered to the point where we see that
it is within no logical basis, you introduce an irrelevant conclusion building on the same premises.
Just because your friends have moved on in their life and you haven't doesn't mean you have to try and convince others of your viewpoint on one of the biggest websites in the world.
I know they have moved on and that is not the point.
Know what? I think I'm just going to say "I quit" because people don't like change. Happened with trying to get Americans converted to Metric. "Oh my god, we need facebook cause we live in a society that only has one obvious way of communicating. Phones are for sending drunk texts and taking bad profile pictures, nobody uses a CAMERA" See ya around when you decide to quit and see life from the outside.
This is a Public Service Announcement regarding the deletion/deactivation of your Facebook account. Facebook leads to superiority complexes, constant need to tell people what you're doing because everything you do matters, need to post stupid pictures of yourself in bad lighting and/or in a bathroom mirror, and refusal to accept anything that is not popular, often making rude or insulting comments in order to make sure said threat is destroyed.
I removed my Facebook and am happier. No longer do I have to deal with spam, status updates, and Zynga games. I feel better than ever before and now see the world as it is and now how I want it to be. No longer am I constantly telling people no liking Call of Duty makes them gay.
Here are some signs of Facebook users
===============================
- Own a digital camera that shoots pictures in HD
- Have a twitter account that updates every five minutes detailing what they are doing at that moment in time
- Irritability
- Insomnia
- General hatred for any Justin Bieber
- Pretend they care about something so they can get likes
That is the only part I disagree (the one in bold). I have an HD camera, yet don't use Facebook that much. How biased.
I use Facebook to stay in touch with my family, because they live across the country.
I don't know about you, but not everyone acts like a 6th grade girl on Facebook, so don't tell people to delete their Facebook account..
I also am happier with a Facebook account, because now I know what the hell my family is doing.
It's actually pretty cool if you like certain pages. Is there any way to stop posts from pages other people like from going on your feed. Two of my friends like all of those "like or get raped" pictures and its pretty annoying, but slightly comical.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
The Commies count their quarters and the ArtSci wish they could, the Engs have the longest pole and slam it home for good, so big, so hard, so tall, it reaches all the way to heaven, so shut your hole, we climbed the pole, we're sci 1 ing 7!!!
If you don't like something, block it. I definitely do not have a heap of junk in my news feed, because I block pages and people. If you see heaps of stupid posts on Facebook, it's pretty much your own fault.
Lol you must have sucky friends or are really taking the hating FB bandwagon seriously. I like it because its easy to chat with people and share photos, as well just a time waster for fun. Nothing wrong with it at all.
Sounds like that to me too. Just wait until you're a decade older and your circle of friends is more mature. I only have a few Facebook friends who are under 20 so there isn't that much "high school drama" going on at all.
You cannot escape from the fact that it's a convenient way to stay in touch with friends.
Exactly. Some of my closest friends from highschool (and later, college) moved away after we graduated. I care enough about them to at least keep them in my life some way or another. Everybody used to chat on AIM but Facebook has taken over as the primary source of contact for everyone but your closest of friends. I text a few people, but the majority of my social interaction with my friends is via Facebook comments back and forth on statuses and pictures. A great way to keep in touch with family as well, since they are spread around and not just in one state.
I log on to see my notifications. But i do that rarely,as i can't take just how many people are posting pointless updates.
But facebook is one of the best ways for me to discuss anything online with friends. So therefore i won't deactivate it.
I rarely post status updates. I don't comment. I barely use Facebook for its normal uses because I personally enjoy forums better.
However, I think Facebook is an amazing tool of communication.
Just look at it - most obviously you can easily stay in contact with your friends and colleagues; furthermore, you can get information about several things of many areas. For instance there is a local pizzeria that sometimes runs contests within Facebook. If it wasn't for those I'd never have discovered that place and wouldn't have become a regular costumer. And even more importantly, it can be incredibly helpful for work or school; you can talk to coworkers/classmates at any time.
If you seriously think Facebook's only purpose is sharing baby photos and telling people what you're currently doing, you have a very warped vision of the system. Even more, you present a stereotype with those so-called characteristics like insomnia or irritability. And worst of all, you instantly take everything you say as truth, as if everybody else was just an ignorant sheep with less experience than you.
If anyone cares, I updated the OP. I've realized that I might have been just a bit too elitist and may have come off as a jerk. I actually care about people's privacy. I care about making sure that their internet rights are secure. It's painful to be hated for trying to defend against such policies as SOPA, PIPA, and ACTA simply because people prefer security over privacy.

When were you hated for defending against those policies?
Data mining is none of my concern. What's the worst that can happen? No, seriously, this is a legitimate question: what is the worst that can happen from data mining?

Suspend the law: Everyone becomes a terrorist suspect. The first amendment is forfeit in the fact that they can interpret your status updates as threats to the nation.

Removed. I may have gone just a bit far.

Would have been true, but before they were cool. Now they drink and complain about life.

Nice psychology. However, using Sigmund Freudian reasoning won't break the fact that Facebook is a waste of time, causes stress for those who use it http://tech.slashdot.org/story/12/11/28/2153248/why-facebook-is-stressing-you-out, people on there hate to have an individual and unique thought of their own.
