Pepper. I put it on just about anything with meat, and the flavor is great, in my opinion. I don't really like salt, I think it's only good on certain foods, like fries. Pepper is good on just about anything. You can never have too much pepper.
I remember a story of when I made myself eggs one morning. I was trying to add a little pepper (now i can't for the heck of me remember what happen next) but next thing I know my whole plate is covered in pepper. I didn't want to throw out the eggs cause i'm one frugal S.O.B. So I took the eggs and washed them off in the sink

salt. salt is necessary for survival, and it's an incredible flavor enhancer. everything needs salt. even desserts require a small amount to bring out hidden flavors, and i like to add just a few grains of salt to my coffee (it doesn't taste salty at all, but brings out flavors in the coffee that always just sort of stayed in the background on their own)
but pepper... it's a decent spice. i like black and red pepper, but to me white pepper, which is far more classy and expensive... well, to me at least it sort of tastes like burnt rubber. i really don't think that pepper deserves its reputation as the one go-to spice for everything. sure it works on a vast array of foods just fine, but the same could be said for quite a few spices. even ginger. powdered ginger eggs... ive tried it. its not bad at all.

ive smelled it, and that's what the sense of smell is for, to preview what something might taste like so you don't poison yourself. among other things.
I haven't added any salt to my food since I was 4.
Not becuase I don't like it, but becuase its healthier.
Our body's generally get enough salt from naturally foods without adding any extra.
Which do you prefer? Or do you love them both?

If I had to choose, then salt.
There's a choice where you can choose both in the poll.

Except on things like popcorn, where salt is obviously superior.
How do you know what burnt rubber tastes like?..
