I haven't played it for a while. But I always have my ins and outs with games. I'll randomly get a hankering to play a game and play it a ton for a few weeks then get bored again. I've done this three or four times now with Minecraft.
Would I even be on the minecraft forums if I didn't? Of course I still like it.
The reason being: the possibilities are endless. You almost NEVER run out of stuff to do. If, however, you somehow manage to do so, there're custom maps and mods galore.
Not really, while some of the features are nice, I think the updates are slowly ruining multiplayer, PvP'ing no longer takes skill it's who ever has the best armor and sword, when it used to be everyone was around equal playing field.
I started Minecraft back in 1.0.0, I played Minecraft all the time. I was in creative mode and made a 5x5 brick house. Then I deleted that world and made another one, but better with a pool, then deleted that one, and made a large wood one with a lighthouse and waterslide, then I made a city with stores, buildings and stuff like that. Now, I barely play Minecraft, I just install mods to make it better. Also multiplayer is good.
I joined all the way forward in Beta 1.3 so I don't know if this applies as much to me, but while it has lost some of it's initial charm, it is still my go-to game whenever I want to mess around a bit.
It is still one of my favorite games, I simply don't like the rest of the forums
I srill play and like it.
Sure, the hunger kind of ruined it. And so did the terrain generation change. But I find playing on servers with plugins to take away hunger and fix world generation to mimic the old one really helps.
