I think people are overusing the word "Meme" too much. If I were in charge of the internet, I would categorize these into "memes" "fads" and "references". A meme is the highest tier in which would last through time and is recognized by a mass demographic of the internet. Fads are like memes, but only used by a smaller group and will eventually die out. References are pieces borrowed from another work and are recognized by a small group and usually tend to only humour those in that group. Those outside said group will only be confused, annoyed, or will try to use it and fail, only annoying the group. Some examples would be, and don't rage on me for this, "arrow to the knee" and "the cake is a lie". These tend to only be funny to those who played the respective games. Fads would be many of the rage faces and advice memes. These are used by a small demographic and come and go. LOLCATs are what I would consider a meme because people who go on the internet can understand or create them.
What really irritates me is when use of fads becomes popular in mainstream usage, such as facebook. The original meaning is lost. Same with references. So for the sake of the internet, don't go calling every new thing a meme.
TL:DR I'm a no life who spends so much time on the internet to classify trends on the internet.
I know I'm arguing semantics, but a meme is really defined as an "idea or behaviour that spreads from person to person in a culture", so really, "meme" encompasses all of the things you mentioned.
Jessi Slaughter. First it seemed like she was just some whiny, attention seeking little kid on the internet, but then after everything that happened to her.......my god, I just feel sorry for the Girl now. Parental Abuse, Mental institutions, the Death of her Father (On the same Day she had an apology video uploaded, which makes it even worse.

Do I really Need a creative Signature?
I mean, with a 728 x 100 pixel picture Is there Much I can DO for a Signature?
All the ones that become popular. I also hate the use of, "le" and MLP:FiM (I have a feeling that the people who love that show are secretly passive-aggressive and are just waiting for someone to say something about it so they can lunge upon them). The only funny/good things I ever see anymore is the semi-rare OC that gets posted on 4chan, although sometimes I like to use memes ironically in a condescending manner to indirectly insult people who like to use, "le" in their sentences because, "lolz memes" people irk me.
Minecraft memes are horrible. I hate them. So much.
I have an obsidian sword. Your argument is invalid.
Yo dawg I heard you like creepers so we put a creeper on your creeper so we can blow up your house while we blow up your house.
I used to build houses out of dirt, then I took an arrow to the knee.
