Yup. My first one was a Nokia 3310 (the "floorbreaker", as it is known). A few weeks ago, after dozens of other cellphones, i finally ended up with this:
im 13 and one of only 5 or so people in my grade who doesnt have one. I dont need another thing to spend hours a day fiddling around with. I have an ipod touch that i can text my parents with in case of an emergency. I see no need to have a cell phone unless you have a good reason for needing it.
When I was young, cell phones were practically unused by the masses. you didn't see 5 year olds walking down the street screwing about on some cell phone they don't yet have any reason to have. Nor the experiences or responsibility to be trusted with them.
Same here, it's a pretty weird experience.
Anyway... I've had a cellphone for years (22 now), i feel lost without it. In order of importance, it serves as a watch, flashlight, calendar & organiser, calculator, communication machine, music player.
I have one of these:
I love it for it's durability, battery life and how strong the flashlight is.
Though i wish it was a Nokia, their menus are more user friendly.
Paranoia isn't really a factor in the face of facts. There have been multiple studies proving higher cancer rates at younger ages of those who actively use a mobile phone vs. a control group of those who don't.
Meh, i'll just throw it onto the list of stuff that's harmfull. It must be taller than Olympus Mons by now.
16 and no phone. And you know what? I'm sort of happy I don't have one. No facebook either. I find it's better to be,for lack of a better phrase, "Unplugged". Used to have one, and It rang constantly. It's somewhat better to me to just learn things from the people that where there instead of getting a text saying "OMG Jonney and Frank dun fighted". Am I out of the loop sometimes? Yes, but I prefer it to being bothered every 3 minutes.
My first phone was Nokia 3210. That phone was a beast! That snake game was brilliant (wayy better than it was on Nokia 3310) and that phone took hits like a boss. Drop in into a lake? No biggie. Driver over it with car? It's still working.
Now I've Samsung Galaxy S2 which is awesome. I'm missing Nokia Tune tho..
Yes, a Nokia C2-01. I gave up my E71 for that because...well it already went [too] ugly anyway, and it's hard to customize it. Used as the main phone, so for everything.
And as a stereotypical Indonesian, I also have a Blackberry. Mainly just for 'BlackBerry Messenger' though.

I'm leaving the forum, if anyone cared. You can find me on OC or FFR.
It took a lot of convincing to get my parents to buy a cellphone. Finally got one for Christmas. Im 14 and the second to last in my grade to get one. Oh well, I have one now and it is a smart phone which it totally awesome!
Nope. I carry my mother's, and I'm an adult. It's less **** I have to deal with. I only use it to call home anyway. I don't need any of my paycheck going towards a contract for phone service when I already have phone service. For some reason people seem afraid to use land lines now.
I really try to respect other people's opinions, and not dislike them for them. But you're making it very hard. When I was young, cell phones were practically unused by the masses. that was when they were more expensive and they were too bulky to be practical.
you didn't see 5 year olds walking down the street screwing about on some cell phone they don't yet have any reason to have, Nor the experiences or responsibility to be trusted with them. Yes, but 5-year-olds shouldn't be far enough away form their guardians to need to have a phone with them everywhere. I agree with you here.
As for the younger the better, I really hope this is a troll post.
Cell phones do give out abnormally high RF frequencies that oscillate certain cell types in a damaging manner. Source? Radio frequency is essential for communication, so of course phones have a lot of it, but it's everywhere anyway.
And RF frequency is redundant.
The younger you are, the more developmental abnormalities you're likely to have because of them.
Same goes for alpha, beta, or gamma radiation. Do you know what Alpha, Beta, Gamma radiation are? They come form nuclear decay, and there's little if any of that in cell phones.
So no. It's sad to see your child-like fascination with cell phones and communication, as well as your somewhat warped views on necessity. Again, this all from my perspective. I hate society these days, your post is just a means to reinforce that.

Actually, I've read a few months ago that the longest study ever conducted, for about 20 years or so, showed that there is no connection between cellphone usage and cancer.
On one side, it's just 1 study.
On the other side, it's the longest study ever conducted in that matter.
OT I have a Galaxy S II.

"God put two white people in the jungle without sunscreen. And they [had intercourse] and now we got people. We got Black people, Arab people, Oriental people and with the amount of inbreeding, very few retards. It seems so plausible!"
I've had a cell phone since 2005. It was my mom's pay-as-you-go phone, but she had just bought a new Pontiac Grand Prix with OnStar and just used the phone built into the rear-view mirror and gave me her cell. Back then, cell phones were barely just becoming popular so even most highschoolers didn't have one yet and texting was even more of a rare occurence. Also, I've never had internet on my phone. It would be nice to have when I'm traveling, but in normal use I would never use it since I'm either at home or at work (both have a computer), or driving inbetween, where I wouldn't be using the internet anyway.
2011-present: LG Cosmos Touch (Verizon)
2009-2011: LG Dare (Verizon)
2007-2009: Motorola RAZR (Verizon)
2005-2007: Samsung A650 (Verizon)
2005: Nokia 5180 (Tracfone)
EDIT: My dad had a phone back in the 1990s though. It was called a "bag phone" and was just like a home phone except you had to carry a backpack with it. He mounted it inside the center console of his pickup truck. It sort of looked like this but I'm not really sure. Digital cameras hadn't been around for long back then so I doubt he even has a picture of it.
I love it.

I love it so far. It's a HUGE improvement over my previous phone. A Smamsung Solstice SGH-A887 (mine was black, not silver like in the picture).
I had two other previous phone before them, but I don't remember what they were called. Though I rememer that they were in the GoPhone line.

I have only broken one of them the others died of their own accord (batteries etc...).
That's all I know about it too.
