When I first joined this forum I had a hard time trying to communicate with people. Before I joined in the Summer I didn't have the opportunity to see my friends very much; so I often tried to interact with people through the Internet. When I found this forum I saw a potential place for casual discussion and for making friends. At first, my speaking skills were no so great and I often found myself struggling to convey my thoughts into words/text. Over time, I would say that I've significantly improved my ability to put thoughts into words and carry out conversations. Not only that, but over time I became more accustomed to talking with people and have made some awesome friends here.
Even though I'm able to see my friends more often now, this forum still remains special to me. It taught me how to communicate with people on a different level; and made it easier for me to have meaningful discussions. In a way, this forum also taught me how to become a better person. Through this forum I've become more open-minded and tolerant of other people's beliefs and ideas. I've changed because of this forum, but for the better.
So now I ask you, fellow forumers, what has this forum done for you? Has it helped you through a tough time? Has it helped you meet cool new people? Has it helped you improve yourself?
I just enjoy being on the forums because they are medium for intelligent discussion which I can't have with people in person barring a very small population due to the following reasons:
a: Many people are unintelligent
b: I am too socially awkward and shy to express myself coherently in person
It definitely made me open to some new things and helped me gain intelligence and grammar after being around lacking people for a while. It has also introduced me to great fictions.

That too, when I first started out I didn't capitalize and punctuate much. I soon started to use correct capitalization and punctuation after someone pointed it out to me.
