I know of a lot of people that showed amazement, elation or joy as they die. I think it's a biological thing as others have mentioned; pumping yourself full of natural drugs as a last hurrah, or lack of oxygen causing confusion or hallucination.
Either way, I'm glad it's a happy feeling, and not a terrifying one.
On a related note: My grandpa was sliding in and out of consciousness on his deathbed, and his nurse was making small talk as she changed his sheets. She looked out the window and said, "Dave, look at all of the deer that have come to say good morning."
He woke up just to give her his response, and last words: "We shoot deer."
It could have been pain. Or maybe the ecstasy that comes from lack of oxygen and blood in the brain.
Maybe pain.
But if it was lack of oxygen he would have to pass out wake up say it then die which is highly unlikely. Maybe, there is some sort of natural instinct that forces a hallucination to happen before death? Maybe, there is a afterlife of some sort? Maybe, we are all caring a little to much about what he said rather than the fact he is gone?

DMT can cause very negative hallucinations as well, so don't be to glad they are positive.
He probably meant that he was proud of what the company became because of his innovation going forward. Mostly, because he helped lots of people do things. Which meant he was Wowed, but those previous posts probably reason as well.

Regardless of what you think of Apple products, in this context that's just a terrible thing to say. You should be ashamed.
I don't believe there is shame in mocking the dead.
I also don't believe there's any shame in decking someone who's mocking a dead friend or family member.

Theorized by whom?
Maybe pain.
