As soon as I saw this thread I thought "oh god... this is a poorly disguised troll attempt" but giving the benefit of doubt I'll bite and respond;
Until there is a better supported theory based on the current and future evidence available the big bang is as factual as it can get.
Though it wasn't outright said, the concept " if we are just a consequence of the big bang, what's the point" was just narrowly skirted. The point to life is survival, and for humans since we have elaborate brains, our own experience. Ultimately, there isn't a "point". The origin of life is also a non-argument for the big bang; That science is Abiogenisis.
Ultimately it doesn't matter what you, me, or we believe; as evidence is found, the truth is built. I might believe that the planet is flat; reality disagrees.
I believe there was an extremely huge explosion some 13+ billion years ago on the magnitude of what astrophysics talks about.
But I don't think the "big bang" was the origin. I Think there must have been something before that.

"Deep in the human unconscious is a pervasive need for a logical universe that makes sense. But the real universe is always one step beyond logic."

Care to explain why you disagree? Makes you look a bit stupid, otherwise.

As you are now, so once was I. As I am now, you will soon be. Prepare for death and follow me.
Not only does that reinforce the Big Bang in a way, it also reinforces dark matter too.
