My ****ing computer even though it sucks like ****ing hell. I can seriously not live with out it for I have no life and have nothing else to do except sit at my PC all the time.

Something to care for. Be it a pet (furry, scaly, feathered, or slimy), a person, a plant, or a purpose.

Right now I am very involved in reptile conservation and captive care, as well as a few exotic animal rescues. I also have some succulents I am trying to save, as well as to help my friends and lover through tough times and good times. :smile.gif: I need the connection, and to know I am doing something good, especially when it comes to standing up for the 'little guy'(How many people donate to save an endangered snake? Even if it is a harmless nonvenomous animal that benefits an ecosystem that would fall without it? Not enough people, sadly. They just aren't 'cuddly' enough. I step up to help those who others abandon, including those that give other people the creeps)

Growing up poor there were times when I didn't have things like water, food, or electricity and you learn to get by on what you have and what you can scrounge up. It wasn't all the time but there was weeks and sometimes months in my life we have gone without. If we were hungry and had no money, we would go out and kill something to eat like deer, rabbits, squirrels, fish, etc all legally of course. I have also been in multiple natural disasters.

As an adult I have learned that you prepare for the worst or do without. Stock food in good time so we don't starve during bad. And it works. My wife lost her job after the economic crisis, luckily I had over 6 months of food stored for emergencies. Cheap things like rice, flour, sugar, canned goods, etc. Also have family who keep chickens for meat and eggs, cows for milk, butter, and meat we all help each other. It pulled us threw the long period to took her to find a new employment, took nearly a year of looking every day before she found full time employment. Most material possessions that are not required to stay alive are luxuries are not necessary for life.

After the obvious essentials, my computer.
