Right, so I was on these forums, and I noticed a conversation containing a dumb comment. (The quote I'm using does not use the same content from the actual dumb post)

Man, this shitty thread, this guy is just a troll.
Quote from Average Competence »
Uh... It's clearly discussing something interesting. Also, isn't that a bit hypocritical?
Quote from A Moron »
How ironic, coming from an aspy Minecrafter.
Right, so at that last point, my brain immediately went into "You are a freaking retard mode".

Okay, One (1): He said it was hypocritical because you were essentially trolling by calling a non-troll a troll, and that has no relation to being a person who plays Minecraft, so what you said makes no sense whatsoever.
Two (2): A large number of people on the board play Minecraft, even if you dislike the game or it's fanbase, you are simply an idiot for posting that. Just wanted to give you a heads up.
Three (3): You are a moron.
I almost posted that. I didn't because I realized;
1. This guy's post is incredibly unintelligent.
2. Any quarter-sane person could recognize that.
3. Anybody who recognizes a comment that dumb, will instantly discredit the poster as a moron, and will not care about the dumb, dumb post.
Sure, I caught myself, but I almost posted to that dumb, dumb comment, despite the fact that everything I was going to post was, in fact, something anybody who looked at said comment could figure out on their own. But I'm still somewhat disappointed in myself that I almost replied.
Essentially what I almost did was reply to a guy saying:
"I am a twig. Beep-Boop."
with
"You are not a twig."
It's obvious, and it didn't need to be said, but I wanted to post it, despite the fact that anybody with common sense could see it.
Does anybody else occasionally have these lapses in judgment?
I kind of thought this might confuse some people, it's kind of hard to explain.
Ok, you know how somebody's does something stupid, and you want to point out that it's stupid, even though everybody else with a functioning brain knows that what that person did was stupid?
Basically that. Do you do that?
... I probably goofed up this thread, but it's something I kind of always wanted to address, it's just hard for me to put into words.
UH, HOW FORGET AN ATTRIBUTE OF OTHER PEOPLE THAT DOES NOT EXIST?!?!?!?!?!?!
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Powers are for the weak. I have no powers. I mean - unless you count the power to blow minds with my weapons-grade philosophical insights. I'm a thought-o-coaster, I'm the conundrummer in a band called Life Puzzler.
Ah, I think I know what you mean. It is obviously to bring into plain sight the person's mistake or something of the like. It soon becomes a discussion. People seem to most likely do it generally because they want to seem cool, and it's similar to the concept of getting pleasure out of trolling. Stupidity is an interesting thing, and being randomly stupid or obviously weird is an activity in which many people find pleasure in. Why do certain things give us pleasure? Honestly, nobody can answer that. Why does pizza taste so good? I don't know, it just gives me pleasure and I like to do stuff that give me pleasure.

I just don't get why I always want to point out stuff people can figure out for themselves.

I wanted to put a "But common sense doesn't exist in humans" option for comedic effect in the beginning, but I decided I wanted a serious thread.
Why so serious?
Ah, there I go again!
I just don't get why I always want to point out stuff people can figure out for themselves.
Dammit. I laughed. :|
