Okay, It really pisses me off when i'm talking to someone about minecraft, or game like minecraft. They say " OH IM NOT GETTING THAT GAME CAUSE THE GRAPHICS SUCK." A real gamer don't give a **** about graphics. Me myself its all about gameplay, everything else i dont give a **** about. Now don't you agree? Has that ever happend too you. Its a matter of opinion if you dont like my opinion dont troll me. Well i mean im not saying your not a gamer is i tell you im just saying. I care a little about graphics. Some people just care about graphics. It just seems most people are like BAD GRAPHICS NOT BUY. Okay let me summaries what im trying to say. Real gamers care a little about graphics but non games care ALL ABOUT graphics.
graphics are part of the game so it should affect your decision to play however, if minecraft was in high definition, I doubt a majority of us can even play it with 0 lag... so certain games have exceptions to the graphic side...
Minecraft doesn't have crappy graphics. It has RETRO graphics.
Lrn2videogame peoples. >: I agree with you completely, except I care for the graphics a bit more. I love the Portal graphics, and Spectrobes: Origins graphics.

I think it depends on the game your playing.. I dont wanna play some crazy ps3 game with shitty graphics. But some computer games its fine. And i agree with Retro, minecraft doesnt have bad graphics, just retro graphics as he stated.
If your a real gamers they don't give a **** about graphics.
Not true. Better graphic make for a much more immersive gameplay experience.
And secondly, your argument is a textbook example No True Scotsman fallacy. That ain't any way to convince people to buy the game. They'll just be like, "well, if he has to resort to obvious logical fallacies to convince me, its probably not actually a very good game."
Real gamers DO CARE ABOUT THE GRAPHICS because every causal gamer knows that the graphics play a key role in the atmosphere of the game. Without graphics that work with the game style, the game therefore is missing an important part of it's makeup that the rest of the game play has to make up dearly in order for it to be a successful game. The graphics in minecraft works just about perfectly with it's simple yet deeply complex style gaming that gives me the "wow" when I play it compared to first glance. Every factor of a game should be considered equal in a perfect world; however, since we are humans and not perfect, this may result in the consideration of certain factors more important than others. That of course, depends on your playing style and it should NOT be considered as ignorance.
I was talking about games with a girl I met randomly while out a few days ago.
We got onto the subject of Minecraft and she said she hated it because the graphics were ugly. She also said that for this reason she had never played it and never intended to.
At that point I pretended to check my phone and made an excuse for having to leave. |:
Judging a game by graphics alone, when it has other elements that easily make up for any lack of 'omg supr next gen awesomesauce,' (or, like minecraft, is obvious on painful levels that it wasn't intended to be the next big leap in cg technology) is a shallow, idiotic thing to do.

You're completely right that the graphics required completely depends on the type of game. Minecraft doesn't at least require the prescision of some games. Imagine playins COD in a pixelated, blocky world, trying to get a hit on wierd, hard to see entities that look vaguely human.
Cant Wait For 1.8
If it glows with the light reflected from a dozen florescent lights buzzing up ahead, and smells of plastic then I know it's a proper vidya game.
My DeviantArt, so sexy
