Pretty self-explanatory; what is the most beautiful thing you have ever laid eyes on?
Of course depending on your definition of beauty the answers will most likely be varied and hopefully interesting.
For me, the most beautiful thing I have ever seen is somewhat odd:
While enjoying the displeasure of a nine hour bus-ride to Washington D.C. I looked out my window to see that the fog that had begun to set in a few hours before, it was now nearly three in the morning, had begun to strangle every object outside my window in its vaporous grip.
Not paying attention to where we were I went back to reading my book, however when I lifted my head to peer out the window once again I saw something I can only describe as "the most beautiful thing I ever saw."
It was a train-yard, completely void of any life or activity, utterly perfect in its own inactivity. The fog wrapped around the lights in a way that gave the entire scene an otherworldly facade.
Literally I just wanted to hop off of this bus and just paint this thing, it looked incredible and I knew I would never see it again.

The original post used to have a part saying "(inb4 vagina)" but I took it out.
Apparently I give this forum too much credit.
I saw the topic title and that was the first thing that popped into my mind... I had to throw it in.
Honestly, Theres a pretty little clearing behind my house, and it is actually pretty nice. Its actually where I buried the kittens and Max when they passed, because of how calm and peaceful it was. ~sigh~
Driving to work, crossing the bridge over the river, I looked down river to the very familiar skyline of the city. It was a late summer morning and the sun was just coming over the hills behind my car and the cars of countless other commuters. Beyond the skyline of the city approached the remains of a hurricane, Isabell, I think, which wasn't dangerous, as I was pretty far inland, it just made the day's forecast be extra rainy. All that was left of the hurricane was a black wall cloud reaching from the ground to the highest part of the sky. With the sun just peeking over the horizon, it lit up the city skyline with the most beautiful early morning light I've ever seen. When the same sunlight struck the black wall cloud of the hurricane, it created a perfect rainbow (alas, not a double rainbow) that arched across the sky directly over the sunlit skyline of the city. Since I was driving over a bridge at the time, I couldn't devote the attention to this wonderful sight that I would have liked, much less having a camera to take a picture. I had to settle for stolen glances out the window as I drove closer to the city. When I reached work, I had only a few seconds to look out the fire escape before the hurricane reached me and let loose a torrent of rain that lasted the rest of the day.
The depressing thing is that it was destroyed by a supernova about 6,000 years ago and we will only see it on earth for another 1,000 years. We will never see it in person...
~ I've thought about the phrase 'Money is the root of all evil' and I have to disagree. Evil isn't dependant on an object. I say that want is the root of all evil.
I would have to say sunset viewed from a beach fire on a california shore. Just beautiful. the sea air blowing in and the fire reflecting off the waves. That is beauty.
