Has anyone here read Ulysses? Is it worth it? If you have, can you recommend any good online resources to help with some of the more esoteric parts? Off-topic seems pretty smart, so I figured I'd post this here.
If you don't know, Ulysses is about a single day in Dublin, from 8 AM in the morning, to 1 AM the next day. Basically, it tells the stories of three characters: Leopold Bloom, Molly Bloom, and Stephen Dedalus. The 18 chapters of the book are all based in part on Homer's Odyssey.
So far, its a good read. If you don't mind pretty heavy stream of consciousness type stuff, I would suggest at least picking it up. James Joyce is a ****ing genius, probably one of the greatest the world has ever seen.
