This forum is so quick and so diverse, it makes me feel smart just being a part of it. Maybe I just haven't had good experiences with forums in the past, but this one seems really nice.
"...But don’t worry, you’re not alone, there are many men like you left in the world, and some of them even used to be your friends. After all, this is America, and we only kill our friends." - Immortal Technique
The religion thread isn't a stupidfest and the furry thread isn't a yiff party.
I'm pretty sure that's a lot more civilized than most forums.
I've been on a lot of forums over many many years, and I have to say, I keep coming back here because something about this community has quality in it. That's rare these day.
I was a regular member on a philosophy forum for some time, and ironically, this forum does a better job with regards to that despite the fact that the names I sometimes drop are probably meaningless to almost everyone. Just goes to show you that you can't teach how to think and degrees are not proof of intellect.
It's the one about the tree falling in the forest. I'm trying to apply wave-particle duality, or the Heisenberg Principle, or whatever I'm saying, to a tree falling and making sound.
I don't have an advanced degree in this kind of stuff, but I understand the basics and act like I know stuff.

Haha, I've had better, but I'd settle for those. You know what's fun? Don't get really into the conversation, just sit along the sidelines and play the devil's advocate. Try to be a thorn in everyone's side and don't commit yourself to anyone. Or, even better, temporarily favor certain members and then double-cross and nitpick them. Eventually they'll all come to resent the debate in general and snap, and you'll have won.

Oh you gigantic douche. I came in here expecting a mega-thread where you had painstakingly compared/contrasted Religion and Quantum Physics and were now going to use the anti-religious argument to deny quantum physics while using a string theory to prove the existence of God. I am disappoint.

Well, Breadlord, let me just say that your avatar is best. I have never seen a more my favorite avatar.
As for the subject, I have nothing to add :laugh.gif:

This place is so diverse. We have communists and we have capitalists, we have gays and we have straights, we have liberals and we have authoritarians, we have furries and we have bronies... the list goes on.
One thing is a fact. If it exists, there is a thread about it.

Well yeah.
But there's the occasional insane thread. You know that.

I know very little about quantum physics so this would.. teach me.

I wouldn't call this forum civilized, it just has really strict moderation.
...I'm evil. :cool.gif:
You heard that, green and red.
Best troll ever.
It does, but so far the religion thread hasn't needed that much intervention.
