Taking this post for who knows what (secret bump)
Here is the video description for people who dont like YouTube.
Post comments on what you think.
This is my video submission for the MSP Application. The prompt was:
Create and submit a one-minute YouTube video about your big idea that could enlighten others around the world about major global issues. Use the theme: Imagine a world where technology helps solve the toughest problems.
What i talked about was the fact that technology has allowed for us to have robots that can help with oil spills.
In case you cant hear me here is what i say:
There are many major problems on our planet but one in particular causes large amounts of damage to the environment. Oil spills happen often with the US alone spilling up to 100 million gallons every year. This usually happens because of things such as carelessness, uncontrollable weather, and even intentional spills. Oil spills impact the environment in major ways by affecting marine and coastline wildlife as well as the plant life. What can be done to solve this problem though? Though there are many possible solutions there is one that stands out more than the rest. With the advancement of technology in recent years we can now use automated robots to help with the oil cleanup effort. We can use robot submarines to repair broken pipelines spilling millions of gallons into the ocean while using smaller robot ships that can separate water and oil cleaning the ocean faster and more efficiently than any humans could. Robots like these would be cost efficient as well because they would save millions of dollars that would normally be spent on trying to fix the oil spill. Not only could robots help fix an oil spill they could help prevent one as well, by being used to maintain the oil rig sites and check up on the hulls of boats while they are delivering oil. With the future of robotics technology we could solve many major problems for our world.
How is it a horrible way of thinking? It was implemented to have youtube videos go there and not clog up the frontpage. A youtube video is a youtube video; just because it isn't (100%) stupid spam, that doesn't change.
