One things that drives me up the wall is people that butcher the English language and turn it into some sort of mangled corpse.
How hard is it to put an apostrophe in theyre, or uppercase your I's. All you're doing is making it hard for the person to understand what you're writing. It isn't u, it is you. It isn't r, it's are. Why can't people uppercase the beginning of a sentence... I understand it if your texting and you're in a hurry, but you have a full keyboard in front of you, and plenty of time. So don't type like this;
lol r u going to teh partay tomrow!!!1! pl0x do itll be lonly w/out u btw bily wont be comng hes busy
If you type like that, not only will no one understand you, but they won't want to come to the party with you. Just saying. People that type like this have the right to, I'm not trying to correct you, or be a Grammer Nazi, but please, you have Spell Check for a reason.
The Pl0x was satirical, by the way.

grammar in discussion is overrated. Some things should be done to make easily distinguishable text, but oh-my-god-the-i-is-lowercase is sort of irrelevant (not irrelevant but certainly not pressing), doesn't make it so much harder to read and understand the person. Gross errors that cause ambiguity and muddled paragraphs and sentences are bad though.
EDIT:honestly, this just seems like a self-congratulatory thread

Hardly. When you're attempting to have a debate over Religion, for example, and people can't bother to punctuate and spell properly. It defeats the point, a good debate requires a certain level of articulation. And if you can't type properly I can't understand what you're saying. Why even bother?
Adults who didn't grow up with computers spell better, and are much articulate. However, Teenagers have full access to keyboards and computers, but yet they're the ones that can't spell properly, and sadly I am among this majority. But I've gone out of my way to learn how to type fluently. I just see it as a lack of effort.

Regardless of whether or not it's a lazy behavior, articulation is not solely dependent on grammar. That's not how language works. And if you HONESTLY can't understand what someone is saying just because the grammar is substandard, then you are the lazy one. And you can feel like it's not your responsibility to put forth the effort to decipher someone's poorly structured text, but it's a spectrum of comprehensibility. Your two paragraphs there have mistakes that have nothing to do with grammar. Who cares? I can figure out what your words refer to.
To say that the text of someone who cannot express themselves properly is so hard to read that it defeats the purpose of discussion is ridiculous. This is actually very rarely the case that it's such a mess that it's literally hard to understand, like that guy from the 12yr old disproves big bang thread. That was a goddamn mess that wasn't even full of "pl0x," just poor structure that made distinguishing what was going on in his posts, even quote attribution, almost impossible.
so still, this is a self-congratulatory thread, unless you REALLY think people who have such bad grammar that their posts are unintelligible will come here, read this, and change.
Have you ever received a Facebook message from a friend, asking you if you're coming to his party, for instance, but yet it takes you around ten minutes to decipher it? When I point the fact that I can't understand what they're saying, they can write perfectly. Many people just don't even bother trying.
And no, I don't expect people to see my opinion on the matter and change. But whatever, it's not even worth discussing at this point.

Whenever I'm looking for a server and see "JOIN MAH SERVER PL0X!!1!1! ITS REELEE FUN!!!11!! :Lava:" it kind of makes me not consider that server. I actually did try out a server like that, and it was pretty good, and they actually used alright grammar and spelling in the game.
