Everything does sound more lethal when you use the chemical terms for the drug.
Dimethyltryptamine (DMT). It's known as the most strongest hallucinogenic to man. Sounds dangerous right? It's produced in your brain. Hows that for dangerous?

Dihydrogen monoxide is a liquid chemical found commonly in our atmosphere, oceans, and even our own bodies. It is very soluble and dangeous in large quantities.
Many of the bad things about the use of recreational drugs stem directly from the legal issues involved.
You cannot expect a regulated market, or health warnings about the product you are about to consume.
Legalize the trade. Then you can openly regulate it, tax it, deal with the health problems involved without demonizing the users.
The prohibition of alcoholic beverages in 1920s USA allowed Al Capone to amass wealth and power...
And made the majority of the adult population potential criminals!

And the best part is, alcohol causes more overall harm than marijuana! Aren't Conservatives just ****ing brilliant?
Not to mention drug cartels are committing more crimes than any mobster/gang in the 1920 was ever able to do. Yet the government sits back and bans more and more drugs while sipping some alcohol so the cartels have new sources of income.
Like most anything, marijuana is probably fine in moderation, though I would think slightly more harmful then alcohol. I still can't stand breathing in smoke though, of any kind. Tobacco, marijuana, wood, candle, I hate it all. I would be in support of legalization, except I'm sure the tobbacco companies would leap at the chance to expand their profits and start growing the stuff by the truckload. Sure, they might put some actual filters on the things, but they would probably do the same thing to marijuana that they did to tobacco. Load it up with extra addictive chems and **** the consequences.

I've been around drunks, and I've been around guys high on pot.
The high guys were a lot more coherent, a lot more civilized, etcetera.
The drunk slapped me for bumping into him.
Drunks are a lot worse than those under the influence of pot.

The thing about marijuana is that you can grow it in your own backyard if it was legal. How many people do you know that can produce cigs in their house? The only legit reason the government doesn't want marijuana legalized is that they will have a hard time regulating and selling taxed marijuana.
Also MJ has multiple ways to be used. It can be ingested when combined with food, or vaporized. Not everyone has to smoke a blunt or a pipe. My friend with asthma eats edibles.
I indulge in a little bit of bud on occasion. Usually either at home or a friend's house. I don't do it out in public or drive while I'm high, though. I enjoy drinks on occasion, too. However, similar personal rules apply. I don't get myself drunk/trashed (a hangover is one of life's experiences I'd rather not have the displeasure of experiencing), and I cut myself off early if I'm going to be driving later on that night. I don't touch cigarettes or cigars. Tobacco cigarette smoke really bothers me. I can get headaches and nausea if the air is too thick with it.
I can't find a medical purpose for drinking alcohol. It's a depressant that doesn't relieve stress and makes people more aggressive.
Alcohol is a weird drug, it effects everyone differently. Some get aggressive, some get depressed and non-violent. Some will get very horny, and some will just flat pass out. The one time I tried it all it did was make me very giddy, flushed, and slightly unsteady on my feet.

One thing's for sure though. It's a depressant. I feel warm when I take shots. Other than that I don't drink to get ****ed up.
Don't get caught? :>
Also, legality =/= morality.
LIST OF THINGS YOU INGEST NOT MADE OF CHEMICALS:
oh wait lol
That's kind of the point. That's like trying to scare someone out of drinking whiskey by telling them there's alcohol in it.
Nowadays "chemical" is synonymous with "poison."
You heard that, green and red.

And cigarettes have ****-loads of poisons in them.

I meant long-term health consequences.

I know people who've smoked weed for upwards of five years now. They're in good health.
I dunno any habitual drinkers who've been that way for long enough to be detrimental to their health, though.

I don't plan to either, all that leads to is hangovers, bad drunk-decisions, and addiction.
